ESPN is ruining college football with its total focus on the playoffs. At the end of the season, only one team is happy. The bowl system was much better for culture and color, plus, there were 40+ winners.

Well that makes sense. The b10 and sec are no longer CFB conferences. They are exactly like the semi-pro farm teams in baseball. And the CFP has never been a “playoff”. The NFL has a playoff. The CFB has a private invitational tournament. Has been since 2013.
To find actual CFB you gotta look in D2-3 and FCS.

What is unacceptable to the SEC & Big Ten is other schools and conferences making out like bandits by pocketing the money and then doing little to nothing to improve their product. If they really intend to break away, they will definitely have to take in more teams in both conferences. Which means they will boat race to get Clemson and FSU regardless of what their history is. There just isn't going to be any more major players on that level left to fight for in the future and the conference that gets them will gain a lot of ground on the other conference. The market or titles arguments aren't a factor in a big 2 system anymore. It's "who has the most big pieces" that determines a lot.

  • @Rageousss
    @Rageousss 22 дня назад +1

They need to start reversing and/or fixing 3 key things NOW, not later, NOW because if the damage isn’t already irreversible it will be soon.
    1. NIL needs to be completely overhauled and enforced with REAL consequences. It’s Pay to Win and barely any school do it how it was meant. Saban made sure Alabama was one of them as he didn’t buy players and before anybody talks about Bryce making 2 MIL that was AFTER he won himself the Heisman because NIL is supposed to be a tool for players to benefit FROM THEIR OWN NAME, IMAGE, and LIKENESS by producing on the field making them self known to the world.
    2. Transfers Portal needs to return to closer to how it used to be.
    - 1 Window which is after the Natty for 30 days.
    - Only Seniors and/or RS Juniors are allowed to Transfer.
    - Players can only transfer ONE TIME unless a special occasion like a Coach moving on or being fired. Lastly is a special circumstances like family issues.
    - if a Coach leaves it opens for 15 days and if a Coach is fired 30 days.
    - Also coaches need to be required to works a minimum of their contract because the way coaches used Saban and Alabama has a 1-2 year stepping stone was bullshit and another reason that made it so difficult for Saban as it would anyone to keep winning.
    - Also when Coordinators leave they shouldn’t not be allowed to take any of the staff members with them and can’t offer them a job until they’ve been at their new School for an entire season. Sark bailing on Saban last minute after getting 2 RAISES and POACHING 5 Position Coaches should not be allowed
    3. CFB Structure (Regular Season and Post Season)
    - There should be 6 Conference with 12 Teams each separated into 2 Divisions and those Teams being made up of ONLY Good Teams that are consistently able to to win over 50% of their games.
    - Take Schools like Vandy and similar should be dropped to D2 and reshuffle all conferences with Good Programs only.
    - 12 Game Schedules. 9 of 12 Games should be Conferences Games with 6 Games being same Division and 3 being Cross Divisions Games.
The last 3 remaining Games should be out of Conference Games. Every Teams 1st Game will be an against a Big Time Program at a neutral site. The other 2 Games will be a Home/Away for 2 Years that way both Teams play in each others Stadium. But of the last 2 every year 1 of them will be Home vs 1 Team and the other Game will be away.
    *Conference Titles and Playoff*
    - Winner of each Division will play each other for the Conference Title and Winner gets an automatic spot into the Playoff.
    - Playoff should have went to 6 Teams first, but should never be more than 8. All Conference Champs play for it all.
    - If there’s 8 Teams 6 will be Conference Winners with 2 being the most deserving lol:

The NCAA certainly does not want to step in and be bothered with so many of the issue.

I've made the boxing comparison for a few months now and I'm glad someone else sees it. For outsiders or just casual fans of boxing, even some insiders, a lot of the times big fights don't happen isn't because boxers duck each other, it's because promoters and teams care about themselves, their paychecks far more than the sport itself. Boxing is the overall sport but boxing is really a bunch of different entities looking to selfishly protect their own money and interests. There have been times where boxers have wanted to face each other only for promoters, sanctioning bodies, and television deals to get in the way. Oh, then there is the corruption within the sport itself. This is exactly what college football is and these guys can never look out for themselves andsacrifice just a little for the greater good of the sport. Also doesn't help a conference like the Pac-12 was poorly managed and not just poorly managed, the university presidents supported the guy poorly managing the conference. Boxing is my favorite sport with college football being #2, hopefully college football doesn't continue down the same path.
