- A sleeper in every sense of the word. Radials were on for this shoot, but it usually rolls around on stockies! We take a look at the car, talk about it with the owner and enjoy the madness that 800bhp brings.
FAQ:
1. Why is it a sleeper, it has drag radials?
The wheels were on only for this shoot. 90% of the time it's on stock Falcon wheels - I show a picture in the video.
2. The audio is terrible, I can't hear him
Yup, I agree. I have since invested in better audio - subscribe and I'll promise you the videos are only going to get better!
3. Where is the burnout BOIIIIII?!
We are in Australia. WA specifically. Hoon laws are INSANE here. If you lose traction, even accidentally, you will lose your car for 28 days, and sometimes your license for 3 months. If the environment permits, future videos will have much fun - if we can do it safely. Sorry to be a fun sponge, but I'm not in the business of losing subscribers cars for them!
4. Where is the proof of 1/4 and hp/kw?
On many peoples phones, a print out - did we bring any of those to the shoot, no, do we need too? Hell no. You don't need to believe the figures, but that's what they are - they are easy to obtain in a Falcon pushing this number - #barratheworld

a heap of stock parts... ahahaha its got a full built motor and a built gearbox... far from "stock"... EASY $25k in mods.... These cars are build like cheese, cant even make 340+ rwkw without major mods.
ASD, the built motor and gear box are for a 9sec pass. 10 sec pass can be done on just new valve springs only.
The XR6 Turbo's use the same diff as the XR8 and the GT falcons.
exactly... there diffs, driveline are all crap!
It's a FG xr6T, every second one makes 600+hp hardly a sleeper. Pull all the running gear and put it in a AU wagon for sleeper respect.
He has some plans for the engine later on, should be pretty sweet if he does it! 👌

As an automotive upholsterer I can tell you with all certainty Fords are in no way the worst, vw/audi group and bmw take that crown. Even in saying that they're very easily recovered as opposed to 90's Holden commodore headliner board's needing complete replacement or recovering then bonding to the roof supports.
I would give a comment saying loved the video etc.... but the fact that you had music playing over the video at almost the same volume as the guy talking when he was driving that’s a major thumbs down from me pal

Ps i got a barra turbo in my nissan patrol.
It is a fully rebuilt forged engine with rods, billet oil pump gears, 1000cc injectors, crow cams, arp rod bolts and head studs, atomic chain kit, valve springs, walbro 460 in tank, front mount, upgraded wastegate spring and a few other goodies i cant remember.
Its all powered through a fully rebuilt fully manualised 1000hp rated re4 tranny.
For a patrol she seems to go very well ;)

Only problem with the Barra is that driving normally around town you are stuck with a shitty sounding straight six, like a Cressida with a broken muffler. Whereas a V8 makes a nice sound at any RPM or load.

I suppose gargasoulless should have went with the barra, he didnt rip any skids. Could probably fit a trolley in the boot too as they dont have any down bourke street way
But that's what makes sleepers better. People at the lights are gonna hear nothing and think it's a standard XR6T, then once the light goes green, all hell breaks loose. Could always straight pipe if it's noise you want.
I've got a BA Falcon XR6T 300 rwkw's (about 400 hp at the wheels, pretty lame in falcon xr6t terms, but it goes!)

Bigger intercooler, 14 psi tune, hi flow cat, walbro pump, Bosch 42 pound injectors, it's also on liquid injection LPG with two tunes, about 500 hp at engine petrol and about 440 hp at engine on lpg

That pull I can assure you was far, far more then 40mph. We in Australia where speed limits are far more strict then England, and the speed we did was an easy lose the car for 29 days. If you want to risk your car and license, pop on over and let's see what you're car is made of ;)

Should have got a gtx3582r gen 2 im pushing 870bhp on e85 very similar mods, tuned by monsta taque though. Ill be down at the motor plex tomorrow night for the end of the season runs, you will see some really fast daily cars down there

SLEEPER? Bro... 150-180 out the shop ain't no xr6t or sv6 ever been considered a sleeper they don't even look like sleeper, absolutely beautiful car very nice mods and did enjoy the vids too.
King Ragnar You know sleeper doesn't mean the car had to be a slow piece of shit to begin with. It just means the car is significantly faster than what you would assume. That fg with the snowflakes doesn't scream 800hp. It's a pretty nice sleeper in every essence of being a sleeper.

I've built a few actually lol, twin turbo sv6 is my latest, shrunk some dohc heads on her, pushing my turbs through gas. 8.8 sec 1/4 mile, but typical Holden MANG till it Bangs so I have a few hiccups with the sidi system but got it sorted. Also doing some work on a Ford fiesta that should rocket too lol straight 6 barra with a 105mm turb is the plan. Then probly my girls Isuzu dmax is going to get a upgrade after that lol. Anyways I just understand how much potential they all have, hence why I couldn't call em sleepers.

Does anyone know if the Ford Falcon is similar to the Ford Fusion or the Mondeo, regarding the body and structure? I say that thinking in swapping this Barra engine and the manual transmission to another Ford sedan. Thanks for any information.
It was unique to Australia. Ford America refused to allow Ford Australia to do anything more than supply rear end architecture to the mustang, and the coyote was given to the xr8, GS and GT. They should have taken the deisel from Jag when they owned that, and added a decent turbo4. Finally, they should have looked at a v6 to keep it going, but emissions killed the Barra and ultimately the Falcon.

100%, easy-ish power depending on your needs, readily available and an Australian icon pretty much, hard to go past them!

Ahh, breaking traction wasn't an issue, but filming it will give me an issue 😂 car + space to skid that won't get me/owner in super trouble = skid will be had.

1. Yes, a "skid" will get you in trouble in Australia. You may be Australian as well, who knows, but I have had friends who have broken traction when leaving an intersection, didn't get sideways, lost the car for 28 days
2. It's not my car, nor my license, we go as hard as the owner/driver permits, and as I advise depending on the ability to identify roads and/or speed
3. Because it's not on video, doesn't mean it didn't happen

I just got my fg mk2 tuned to 370rwkw last week with a new 67mm turbo and runs factory suspension and wheels, doesn't even have gauges in it, oh and stock exhaust from the cat back. Love having it as a sleeper, keeps people questioning. Being my only car I don't want added attention. I wanted a white one just like in this video but damn they were hard to find or clapped out. Credit to the owner, mint ride.
Firstly I'm not saying that the owner of this Ford drives dangerously or illegally and seems like a responsible father and decent bloke..But here's my small rant about it..
I use to love all the street car scene, I had a 11sec manual V8 HQ some 20 yrs ago. Loved the technology advancements,the engineering and everything that goes with it,still do & will always be a motor racing fan, but please please not on the street & really what for, the ego governs our lives and people need to pause and think a little. Tragedy can strike the young in there prime..

MrZillaman73 I have stock late model turbo falcon. It has nowhere the power of the one in this video. I haven’t had a an infringement in years but If I drove my car to its potential it would be very dangerous. No different to the top end of most brands. Even kia has a twin turbo stinger with 272kw. Considering V8 falcons and commodores in the mid 90s had about 100kw less power. Cars are quicker and fatalities are down since then.
It’s the driver not the car that causes deaths on the roads.

I'd possibly blame Australia for that. They weren't the best at exporting these in general, to easy countries, let alone America :(
More to do with Ford USA probably. An insult to there Design section in the USA to sell anything not designed in the USA. The US Design Section had there jobs to protect. Also not good to have a Sports Sedan on the market that would eat most Mustangs.
The "Barra" also may not have met the Emission Standards in all States at all times. Australia follows European Emission standards. Sometimes a bit later than Europe. The USA at times adopts its own standards and gets ahead of others. I can seem too remember some years ago reading Ford Australia needed to spend about $23 million to bring the "Barra" up to the latest standards. They were looking for Government support or something saying it had big Export potential as the only straight six Ford anywhere in production.
Even if Detroit did not want the Australian Ford Falcon in the USA I would have though it would have been a good engine for Ford Pickups in the USA. Those who wanted something cheaper than a V8 or Diesel in an actual Work Vehicle without Turbo or with Turbo.
Being as bullet proof as it was it would have been a great low maintenance but gutsy work vehicle for Fleets etc.
That was its main quality. Well proven, cheap, bulletproof in all its forms.

I don't know man, I love 2j's as much as the next guy but if you take into account what chassis you are buying into, if you have a r154 already or not, then if you are swapping the 2j into something that was designed to take it or not, I'm not actually sure it'd be any more economical.
Sure, have the engines side by side on the floor, make the same power and the price would be different.
I'd still prefer a 2j regardless... but don't tell the Barra guys 😂
Haha, thats not to say Barras are one stout motor Early days but I've Bought and modded a E36 with full HMWPU bushings Compete. Suspension and The ONLY (Guarantee this) Guy with a FORD (DANA) M86 rear end IRS in a E36 in Aus Full custom subframe and custom M86 shell (pumpkin/carrier) and importing a 2JZ-GE VVTi, then bolt-ons like GTX3584R t4 mani, injectors all the supporting mods and the AEM pnp v2, TCI Comp th400 with the hughs valvebody..... (must say though) the only labour cost was Axles and Propshaft, rest of the work done by me, costs less than buying and building a 800hp Barra Motor (Tune, prop and axles not included) You can check out my first startup vid on my channel, Its made 528RWKW for less than 11K Complete! 2Js are about 3-3.5K front cuts Auto of course, The Bimmer cost 900bux Clean as Fuck has had roof redone by me though, bolt ons were about 3k too, Simply put, If i spent the same as he did on his motor I'd have that magic and now very common 1000HP 2J EASY, yes this reply was rushed!
@@BUZDRIFT Its easily possible to make 800hp on an LPG motor, they are like 400 bucks. All you need is Oil Pump Gears Head Studs and Valve Springs. And saying building a Barra is expensive it isn't, its the best bang for buck bulk power inline six.

Yeah this was the only thing that bugged me but understandable if you're still in the early stages of your channel.

naivay it's had a few seat swaps. I took the XR cloth seats out for some G6ET leather seats but then got over having leather seats, especially in summer. The f6 cloth seats came up cheap and for what I sold the leather seats for I basically paid $100 for the F6 ones. They're way more comfy too ☺

Matthew Allmon unfortunately my 10.2@138 wasn't a full pass. No boost off the line and let off well before the line too. Once I get some fresh radials ill give it a good crack but I only get one shot before getting kicked out so I want to make it worth while. Expecting to go around 9.6ish at mid 140s Mph with this setup on a full pass
But as they say you're only as fast as your last race. It was still a PB for me just not the one it's capable of

It usually runs stockies, literally factory FG wheels, the welds were on for this shoot only, but then you'd know that if you watched the video ;)
