In relation to your "dorky" thoughts when you see other horse owners, I live in a small farm community where everyone has 10 acre plots with horses or cattle. Someone from a different road came riding by my place on a percheron gelding. I felt the sudden urge to run out to my barn & bring my percheron mare up to front pasture so she could meet a new friend. I even waved the guy down to see if he would stop so I could show him my mare. His boy is gorgeous! I felt silly, but having the only draft "on the block," his horse caught my attention. IDK where he was riding from, but hope he comes back for another meet & greet for my mare. Silly, but I feel proud to have a draft & love meeting others with drafts, especially if they were rescued from slaughter for human/animal consumption or HRT (hormone replacement therapy) such as premarin & others. Hoping to raise awareness about both nasty practices.
I have found myself watching channels like yours. Trying riding with bells, wanting orthotics in every pair of boots, talking to people I would otherwise never know if we both didn't have a horse.
The one thing that always gets me with owning a horse, is when I see a hay truck (semi truck) full of hay/alfalfa, I think of Fast and Furious when they were hijacking the semi trucks with electronics. Like I could get a few horse people to help hijack a truck and split the hay. OR when I see a hay truck and yell in my truck “Hey! My house is the other way.” The grass hay and oat hay in my area is $22 a bail so hijacking a hay truck seems like a good idea sometimes. I do the majority of the same things. 🙂
My life is very horse centric so my backpack holds at least a small lead line, hank of baling twine, small baggy of horse treats, a tube of triple antibiotic and a leather halter crown piece. When camping or hiking I have a medium baggy of dried horse apples as fire starter that gets included as well. Any car I own must be able to carry at least 4 medium bales of hay in a pinch and the trunk has to be big enough to carry my saddle and grooming box. I now judge all my clothes based on could I ride in them comfortably and how easy do they wash or clean up. Shortly after we got our horse, I knew I had made the complete conversion when after work my friends grabbed their gym bags to go work out at the gym and mine held my riding clothes so I didn’t have to waste time changing at the barn.🤠
Lol, I wish that I could say that it was intentional, but over time these items have come in handy away from the barn. I find myself solving problems with what I have at hand and 9 times out of 12 the solution comes from my horse supplies. Being owned by a horse turned my life upside down, but it’s been worth all the worry and hard work.
Lol the dorky "hey horse guys! Let's be friends!" thing is a thing that I suffer from constantly. My fiance always says I'm rubber-necking 😅😂 whenever I see a horse trailer and truck lol
Great video! Because we have horses we seldom vacation! That’s not really a negative because we love our horses! It’s just difficult to find someone to take care of them while we are gone. We are getting a LQ horse trailer soon just so we can combine vaca and horses.
You are so ridiculously relatable! Things that come out of your mouth are things I think all the time. I’m glad to know I’m not alone and also being a crazy horse girl is kind of cool. Thanks for all your super awesome videos!
Thank you for all of the great information you give viewers about gear, tack, feed, etc. I recently bought the same clippers you used on Fame for my horse that was recently diagnosed with Equine Cushings (PPID]. The Lister Star clippers were great! I love to go camping with my horse and I loved your video on the equipment you use and the pros & cons of the different ways to pen or high line your horse. Have you ever been to Point Reyes? Absolutely beautiful. 😁
Thanks a bunch! I'm so glad you're enjoying the clippers. I recently bought the medium blade FYI since mine came with the fine...just in case you wanted a slightly longer hair length. I plan to go medium for summer so Fame doesn't burn. I'm glad you're finding the videos helpful! Yes I LOVE Point Reyes! It was our first beach ride last summer. :D Are you in NorCal?al?
@@HappieronaHorse Thank you for the blade info, that would help for sure since I have a paint also. I am glad most of the trails at Pt. Reyes have opened back up for the season. I do live in Nor Cal, near Jackson. Not too far from where you ride. 😁
Yep they take over life in the best way 😂😂. Let’s not the forget the I won’t be long ... 6 hours later 😂🤷🏻♀️. I’ve just bought a highland pony so now I have two my life is even more horsey dominated. I absolutely love it and everything in you’re video is 100% accurate :)
I find myself constantly scoping out trail heads etc. out in the mountains for if I can turn a horse trailer around at them. I also arranged my property so it is easy to get trailers in and out and I designed my barns so that I can pull a hay trailer up to them in such a way that it is super easy to offload hay into them from a flatbed trailer. I think if I didn't have livestock (horses, cows etc.) those things would not have been nearly as important to me. As far as seeing other people pulling horses that is a daily constant around here but I do try to get a look to see what kind of horses and what they look like etc.
Being able to turn around with a rig is huge, I totally feel that.👌🏼 so smart to lay out your property that way! Ahhh, details that non-horse folks wouldn’t notice. 🤠
Omg! Yes exactly everything you say is right on! If only I would/ could of done this years ago with horsing around. I wish I could live in a barn with my horse I would be eternally happy. Ditch the house and live in the barn. Right on!
So happy to see you're back! Love the vid, I think it's SO relatable to a lot of people to constantly check out any horse trailer that passes by on the road haha! That curiosity can't be stopped! Also, I'm sure you've mentioned it a million times before, but how old is Fame? Just curious :)
Omygosh! GreatVideo!!!! Fame is so Blessed to have you as his owner. Also, I loved all the clips you added into the video of Fame. He truly is absolutely stunning from the inside out. Have a Blessed Day. PeaceAndLove Lori
I went to Sundowner in Auburn Ca. If you go Trails West, keep in mind there is warmblood height (7’6” tall) and warmblood package which is wider stalls. I have height and wish i also had wider stalls too. 😬 Craigslist or Facebook groups for horse trailers are great places to find trailers.
My car is filthy! I usually keep it pretty nice but there is dust and dirt all over. I didn’t really notice though until my mom pointed it out to me. Oops. And yes I now look at all clothes as if they are good for riding or not.
I have 3 weather apps on my phone. 1 specifically for lightning. My husband (who's an Eagle Scout) thinks I'm crazy. What about being prepared? :D I always wonder if there is a more efficient way to load hay in the back of the truck. How many bales can I fit so I only need to make one trip? The equivalent of cramming all the grocery bags onto my arms. HA!
Horses are bloody expensive. It never stops. Vet bills, shoes, feed, etc. If you want to trailer you’ll need a truck and trailer. Bloody expensive. Good luck 🍀

😂😂 i love this. Total horse owner fantasy!!
where do you live? Those trails look so nice
Bay Area CA. We really do have some of the best trails!
there are two different types of clothes. 1) Barn clothes and 2) Soon to be barn clothes.
Exactly. 😂
I'm just now getting back into riding at 60..I'm riding a Percheron currently and love his size and walk, so I'm loving your videos with Fame.
When there is a storm, you worry about your horses before almost anything else.
Oooh yes! Gotta make sure they are safe. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Very true! Lightening, hail, fluctuating temps! Haha, always wondering the weather!
Omg....I've never thougth about always carrying a knife. Such a great tip! Thanks! xD
You’re so welcome! 🤠

You’re the sweetest! Glad to have you as a subscriber. 👍🏼 and best of luck shopping wootwoot!! 🤠
@@HappieronaHorse Thank you!! ;-)
When my husband and I are on road trips, I always wonder if I could live there with my horses! He just rolls his eyes. 🤣
HAHA. You're like, we could live here, and the pasture would be over there, and the barn could go there....
I look at golf courses and think what a great place to ride and look at all that beautiful green grass😜
omg YES. I was in Pebble Beach last year and secretly wanted to turn Fame loose on the putting green... LOL would probably get arrested tho. HA!

It really does, thanks! 👍🏼

My car has been a NIGHTMARE since I got a horse. My family is appalled at the state of it. Meanwhile I could care less!

Watching other people pull horse trailers is so relatable, I have horses myself. Lol
Restaurant parking lots are worthy of scrutiny now, as we frequently stop and have dinner on the way home
That’s a great one!! 🤠
5:20 that's something I hate seeing. Thats not a horse trailer and horses arent meant to go 80mph through the air.
In your trail video you show your trailer. Where did you find/buy it? I am in need of one like it for my draft cross horse. Thanks

Is your trailer over 7'6"? I thought for bigger/taller horse it should 8' wide and at least 8' height. How tall is yours? Did you order it custom?

Glad to know I’m not the only one with a dirty car! 😂
Haha, I have a dirty truck and car! I am always tracking dirt, hay, or rocks into my vehicles. 😂
When you cringe at spending money on necessary things for yourself but there is ZERO hesitation at blowing hundreds at a tack/ feed store.
Haha this is very true 😂
I find myself missing my Cimarron and wishing was in our back yard cause I'm pretty sure I would be having sleep overs haha

Do you put shoes on Fame? I am looking to get a Clydesdale and am unsure whether to shoe my new trail horse!
I don’t, his feet are super hard. Our trails allow for barefoot also. If I had to switch I would definitely try boots first!

Not cheap for sure! 👍🏼
Looking at the prices of carrots 🥕 😂 when shopping 🛒, how many saddles can 1 Person own 😏 .
I love how you use your dogs as weight lol. It makes since because those little dude can get H E A V Y
Heck yeah! 😂 and squirmy as all get out 🤪
Unexpected effect....looking for lighter color clothes. Reason: White shire hairs stand out on black shirts....
YES I have started moving away from black entirely because of this.

You can’t drive 55 Sammy Haggard lol
But do you slow down and rubber neck when you're out driving and pass new horses you've never seen before??😂
You can be driving a Porsche. And have money left over to invest and make money.
