Can't express enough thanks regarding how your video's assisted in the the resurrection of my 78 Power Wagon step side box and wood kit (removed the metal floor and replaced with wood ).Also appreciated other helpful hints and great detail in camera catching all angles of work performed . Really liked your calmness in talk and no panic approach. Not like most with irritating commentary/bad jokes and hacker fix techniques. Awesome truck !
Love,Love,Love this truck , and your attention to detail is second to none. I've watched every video and each piece of this truck is a work of art, awesome job !! And the little red express is wicked too !!
I used a chisel and hammer to break off the spot welds holding the angle strips to the bed sides. Then cleaned and prepared the metal area where they mount. Instead of spot welding the new strips on I used 3M structural adhesive panel bond. Much stronger and it also seals the back of the strips completely so water and dirt cannot get behind them causing rust. Good luck with your bed! They are a lot of work to restore but worth all the effort!!
@@chriskennedy6532 ya it’s being used more and more in the collision business. It has proven to be a very strong repair and much better corrosion protection. It worked very well for attaching the angle strips!
Any plans to make a set of side racks? I have a 78 D100 Custom Utiline, and I want to make a set for it instead of buying them. I would love to see how you tackle that project! Also, my truck has a metal bed. Based on what I saw, I can cut out the bed and replace it with wood; is that correct?
See, these are trucks that can be resourced. Fixed up dropping your engine and I'm. You could've paid LA d lights every day. Driver or weekend we can trucks. I like these and put a new frame and everything on there. These trucks will last you another fifty years
