I saw a comment that someone made they mentioned shorter videos. Please do not make them shorter you have a wealth of knowledge people only learn by listening. I do enjoy listening to you do not change a thing. I always listen to you and other coin channels while I coin roll hunt and pocket change hunt.

Honest and needed! Thanks for another great video. I always knew that it’s not easy to find that “special” coin that’s gonna make me rich. It’s more wishful thinking than reality. It could happen, but keeping it real, I don’t want to make the mistake of hoping thinking that I have something that isn’t. Great advice and I feel that your brutal honesty is warranted.

Most of us oldtimers focus on the pre-1960s coins, modern top pops are a house of cards that‘ll collapse someday soon! 1964, & Before silver coins are fun to collect, found a cracked planchet peace dollar in a scrap box recently!

His video was informative, thorough, relevant and logical. He explained why people like myself are upset when we submit and pay for grading of coins (mostly modern) that don't grade for what I had hoped and why I am frustrated and disappointed when we pay to grade a coin that comes back worthless in regard to the grade assigned.

I love this video. I am new to this coin deal and I just have received a collection of coins from wheats to Lincoln’s to half dollars and more.. this is the approach people need to hear! I have been searching to find out what my coins are worth such as my 1969s Lincoln this stuff is so hard!😂 my respect goes out to those of you that have learned this knowledge..to hear straight up videos on how it is well.. what a relief from some of these (fake) beat around the bush, tell you nothing videos.. so thank you! I have been watching your videos only and this is why!!!

You are so correct. Don’t shoot the messenger . It is my opinion that some people want to scam around and not do their share of work. Some people are so mew that they have egos that are as big as a apple pie and they forgot to peel the apples. And some people look for the opportunity to sell. Feeling that it’s owed to them. This is one of your very best videos. You were direct to the point. I’m only 71 yrs old now and when I’m given advice and direction from a person who has your devotion, knowledge and let downs in the coin collection , one must listen. Yet some people are knuckle heads. When you say classics, please explain to us all. I watched your video regarding,”Buy,Sell and Hold”. With your time frame maybe you can do a classic , buy, sell and hold for us.

Yes Shaun, this video was somewhat of a wakeup call, yet isn't that what we are here for, to learn? Part of learning is having to listen to cold hare facts. There's no harm in that, it only keeps things real ! in any event, as usual, the video was informative. And like the guy's comment below mentions, Most of us like listening to you as we coin roll hunt.. in that way we kind of feel your right here with us keeping us company. And as for me, a 70-year-old loner, your company is very much welcomed and wanted. In any event buddy, thanks for keeping it real, and for keeping us informed; we appreciate it greatly! You have a great week and happy hunting brother, and the very best to you and yours! Take care!

Oh you're not alone 😊. 68 new bee. Trying to get some truth yesterday. I just Wanted to talk to someone in person about my collection. And after 15 minutes of talking to this guy in person. I became very discouraged. The coin club in this area seems to be hidden.?? And only one coin shop in the area. So.... I have to educate myself or dive a distance to talk to someone in person.😕 And funny but what I came away from the conversation was the mint employee must have been smoking that day, Or had too many equipment distractions and keeping production quotas as to be paying attention to detail. Doesn't matter. The U.S mint is still in production. In my opinion, Numismatic is a sport. Knowledge is the key.

Thanks Sean for the info and you are right I have five 1965 quarters and I was looking them up on Heritage auctions yesterday and each one of them Sold four different prices and some look the same but if you really look at them there is something a little different on each one would sell for like $1,100 then the next one would only sell for $53. So it all depends find what the grading places see that we didn't and what they steal the grade is. I'm still learning a lot every day from your videos so thank you very much

I'm probably sitting on a mint of coins that I've collected over the last 4 yrs and I know that at a point in my collecting that I needed to take the next step and start getting what I have, graded. I've done my homework and watched your videos religiously. But I know that what your saying is true. Best coin grading video I’ve seen by far! Will you make an updated video about this same info and include some info about sports cards. I’ve seen the auction houses in the last couple years do this same thing with consignment of cards. People just don’t understand and most have no clue about pop reports or how this plays into the auction houses decisions on weather to take your coin/ card or reject it. I look at it this way if there’s a question in your mind if your coin/card is a MS 68+ FS or a Gem Mint 10 card then about 99% of the time it’s not. If you question the grade yourself the grader will definitely will question it and results will be a whole point grade lower or worse!

Well sir I do owe you an apology a tremendous apology . I cought one of your recent videos explaining" why my coins weren't being sold on ebay"and what you said was true and correct and made total sense to me . My inexperience and lack of knowledge of everything involved was the real reason why I took what I was hearing on the coin channels and not just yours every one of em on you tube, and ran with it like a blind man in the dark . I am so sorry for what I said and I was wrong. You provide a great service for everyone in your audience and to the whole field of coin collecting in general,,the information you provide is really priceless. I really hope you except my apology Sean and please keep up the great work your doing ,,you defantly have a fan here ,,and from now on Im all ears.

I told him I was mostly into modern varieties (he does errors and I had some of those, too)… anyway, one thing he told me is NOT to grade modern varieties. he said it is simply not worth it. I was surprised he replied personally but that was the main thing I got out of it, don't grade modern varieties.

Great information thanks! There's a lot more going on regarding raw or grading coins than most realize. Not as simple as most realize. Appreciate this post! Noticed a coin shop here where lots of graded walking liberties were traded in for cash, most with 70 or 69 grading. Seems as though people need the cash now more than anything especially with the way our economies are going.

I just found a 1982 small date stamp copper Penny came in at 3.14 grams so right on the money I need to know where I can sell it seeing as only 2 have ever been on auction I don’t really want to deal with getting it graded but the lowest priced one sold was $10,000 and it was in worse shape then mine what can I do any places that would be good to do private sale I also don’t want to deal with auction fees

Hey Shaun... ive decided to pull the trigger and go ahead and send in some coins of my massive collection but i gave myself a catch. Im going to send in 10 coins. 2 pennies, 2 nickels, 2 dimes, 2 quarters and 2 half dollars. The catch is, im NOT sending in the best, and im NOT sending the worst. Im sending in average in between.
Then if they come back ms61, then thats good. Cause then i can compare the rest to those ms61 coins. If theyre better, then ill know they will go higher, if worse, lower. But ill have coins to compare them. I think thats a good Idea

I have watched many of your videos. I have come across some coins that are rare that have been saved way before 2004. I also recently came across a nickel in my pocket change that is a war time nickel and it looks as an odd color and it resembles the war time nickel you had mentioned in some of your videos that I have watched many of. I have been thinking about sending it off to be graded. Though I am not sure. How can I be sure that it is such a coin to send off to be graded? Any suggestions.?

One of the most realistic, honest, informative, useful videos Ive seen yet. Thank you!!! You answered several questions for me. All my coins are from rolls or pocket change, kind of a "cherry picker" so in getting in circulation coins graded, is there one of the three graders that might be more favorable in grading in ciculation coins? Any suggestions? Do smaller graders, get recognition at all? It seems everyone use the three top ones, and never mentipn any others? Thanks for a great, realistic, honest video! Salute!
