I was thinking about upgrading my son with the crossfire from the 6'6" G-Shock 2500 to 7'0 crossfire 3000 here in Humboldt county CA ware we fish for anything from trout steelhead to 25 pound salmon. I just made up my mind this crossfire really felt good in the shop and sounds like it will hold up for him tell he gets a little bigger and probably put some good memories in the family photo album thanks for the info
@@fdsaffff All the big box outdoor stores sell the Crossfire but Bass Pro has the best stock of those. I get my J braid x8 on amazon usually, or online tackle stores that I recognize like discount tackle
Not sure the game you'll be after, maybe seabass? If so, those sizes would be perfect. If you come into really strong fish that need a ton of drag, the crossfire might not be a good option. Like here we have grouper and snapper offshore, I wouldn't use it for those but for some seatrout or game under 15lbs I would. Just make sure you have over a hundred yards (not sure in meters but very close) of the line you want to use and that should be the right size for you. I'm sure both 3000 and 4000 would work. Make sure you clean your reel well after salt!
Love my crossfire I have 15lb braid on it and I must say it has 22 pounds of Mac drag which is very very impressive for the price point and the size of the reel
@@finnafishfl I use the anti-reverse switch multiple times every single time I fish when I want to pull out more line for casting or re-tying a lure. It’s much easier than monkeying around with the dragon pulling out line by hand.
Hey dude , nice video. I just bought the 4000 crossfire. Do you know how strong the drag is ? Daiwa pretends it s 10 kilos , wich is around 22 pounds but i think they over estimate it. Anyway..take care.

What size would you recommend either 3000 or 4000 for fishing off shore casting lures 15-40g in England

Any way to swap out the bushings for bearings on these?
Awesome video!!! Definitely gonna look into this reel.
I have 4 or 5 and have gave a few away over the years, but what happened to the anti reverse?
Did away with that useless switch! Just another point of entry for water anyways I prefer reels without them

Nah sounds like your reel is defective
Should be very easy to turn
what’s the difference between the model numbers C and CP? At the end for example, CFLT-3000-C-CP versus CFLT-3000C
Cp means clam pack, for some reason the box one doesnt come with spool spacers so you might want to get the clam pack

Shallow spool makes more room for drag washers, makes the drag smoother. Other reels are too deep IMO
