@@finnafishfl heck yeah! I'll make some weird contraption to pour some lead on a hook. I've been mainly targeting bass for years and live right next to the damn Mississippi+ alot of backwaters.. never caught a bowfin and want to get one this year! Glad we don't have gators up here haha

@@ravenger2711 The title also didn't say "me using a 30$ reel in saltwater" which would imply what you're thinking. Saying I use something somewhere isn't the same as saying "I'm using something somewhere." There are no words in the title indicating I'm using it in the video. That's just you wrongly assuming I would. Anyways look at the thumbnail, it's in my room, another thing that makes it obviously not a fishing video. Unless you thought I would be fishing in my aquarium which with your assumptions shouldnt be out of the question. I have plenty of videos using it in saltwater on my channel if you'd like to watch that.

I use a 1.75 inch rebel raider with owners JDM inline single hooks

@@finnafishfl nice bro also the 1 5/8" or it's 1 3/4"? the next size down rebel i do same and put 2 #8 circle hook or just a back hook bcuz they get caught up

Not sure the game you'll be after, maybe seabass? If so, those sizes would be perfect. If you come into really strong fish that need a ton of drag, the crossfire might not be a good option. Like here we have grouper and snapper offshore, I wouldn't use it for those but for some seatrout or game under 15lbs I would. Just make sure you have over a hundred yards (not sure in meters but very close) of the line you want to use and that should be the right size for you. I'm sure both 3000 and 4000 would work. Make sure you clean your reel well after salt!

@@ryanashley3125 I'd put 20 if I was fishing down in snags or as light as 10 if I need distance with my casts. 15 is fine too for an in between

@@finnafishfl I use the anti-reverse switch multiple times every single time I fish when I want to pull out more line for casting or re-tying a lure. It’s much easier than monkeying around with the dragon pulling out line by hand.

Thank you man! Yea so its just a spool swap for my 1500 carbonlite. Nothing else but spool and spool cap to carry over the gasket from the carbonlite spool cap, I think I used that spool cap atleast. Or at the very minimum I moved the gasket over to the crossfire spool cap from the carbonlite, lol. Theyre both daiwa reels so those parts just swap easy. Good eye!

@@finnafishfl I don't think the BPS carbonlite reel got much exposure on the internet at all. They go on sale so much and now there's the blue color version on BPS website for $59... so underrated. What I meant was the BPS reel has extra 2 bearings on the spool shaft so the spool as that cavity to accept or accommodate the stacked 2 bearings, which the cross fire spool shaft has no bearings so the spool cavity is different. you will see what I mean if you compare the 2 spools.

Shallow spool makes more room for drag washers, makes the drag smoother. Other reels are too deep IMO
