Thank you SO much for showing this video, i have had my gt pro for just under a week and have accidently hit a few potholes and noticed on the way home that the handlebars were slowly collapsing towards me. thankfully i was only 1km away from home!. i will DEFINETLY be using this idea! thanks again! From Ben in New Zealand :)
First night I got this home I couldn't believe that it was relying on that pin and found a bolt in the shed a tightened it up and it removed some movement in the head steam had, so glad to see a video telling others
Great video thank you for trying to make our wolf Kings safer I know mine feels much more solid now that I have put the bolt and double nuts and Loctite like you have suggested thank you very much excellent suggestion
Is this still the best solution you've found? I was using the largest that would fit without drilling it and it kept loosening even with locktight. Eventually the head snapped off when I was tightening it lol. I'm going tomorrow to get the larger one and attempting to drill it.. EDIT: To clarify, just like him I think this scooter is awesome! Super fast and its battery has been very reliable for me. I have over 3600 miles on mine already and ive just changed the tires for the first time. That wasn't fun but to be fair the new version solves that issue. I cant drive for medical reasons and this literally enabled me to do a lot of things other people take for granted. Even going to a job more than a couple miles from my house increasing my income. The ONLY thing I haven't liked is the folding mechanism. Wish I could get the new one despite that LOL
I read about Kaabo Wolfs a lot but did not find any case of locking mechanism colapse..there were few cases of front forks snapping during fast ride but new wolfs have stronger forks now. If there will be some accident then there will be upgrade of this bolt for sure.
Hey., I totally agree with you about not seeing one vid showing the front end collapsing., just me being me seeing it could, just look at the threaded rod holding the front folks tight? I did watch the vid's showing the front fork's, was the casting that failed and they have made them better so let's hope right? Hey I have to be me and seeing what I do on this scooter if you got one and paid 4 thousand for it then plz take the time to check it out and make sure best you can it won't fold up going 60 mph. I'm doing a vid now showing how to bleed the brakes., sorry to babble., Ride Safe thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
Hey man I just watched your vid's wish I could understand what you were saying lol? Add a couple strong zip tie's around the locking bar for the front end there cheap and easy to cut off when you need to fold the front. I put duct tape on the bar's to keep the folding handlebars from moving in and folding on me., hope this made sence? Ride Safe thanks again for watching my vid's.
Hi Mark, thanks so much for creating and posting this video, I have found myself feeling concerned about this specific area of my WKGTPRO. Really grateful you’re educating users about how to improve safety of their escooter. It’s a great scooter but anything mechanical, can always be improved from a safety perspective. Do you have any videos on how to change the brake fluid on the disc brakes at all? Keep up the great content 🙏🏾
Hey Mark I loved your video I recently bought a wolf King GT Pro and have had the housing that the barrel and threaded Rod sit in crack on me and I'm wondering if there's any way to just put a bolt through the bottom one as well as the top one like you have done if that would solve my problem you seem to be really smart with this and I am not as experienced as you are if you could give me any ideas I would really appreciate it thank you so much
I've never had a problem with mine. Leads me to wonder what you guys are doing with your scooters cuz mine works flawlessly. And the one issue I actually had, Kaabo took care of immediately and no questions asked.
Wow thanks man honest I can't help worry about the front end folding up on me going 60mph and really to me no big deal to take out a nut n bolt before you fold it up. Ride Safe
@@thescooterloon935 I hear you bro , a few washers couple of nuts some lock tight and what size bolt preference. I only got my king gt pro yesterday so I'll be down the hardware store soon.. can you do a indepth video on the screen settings and advanced settings. When you got time happy holidays
@@philliz2629 Lol sorry man I got no idea how to do any of that tech stuff that side of all this has me lost. I got a Go-Pro 5 the mic adaptor the mic the app and 3 day's of trying to figure it all out and still have no idea what I'm doing lol. I just turned 59 so I'll ask my son to help lol., have a good one man hope I made you smile I will figure all this out. Happy Holidays :)
I wouldn’t advise drilling a bigger hole not knowing how you affect the integrity of the steering stem; it’s not the size of the bolt; it’s the forces it has to withstand.
Hey, must be you don't have a GT Pro? The size of the hole is very close to the next size up to fit the solid bolt n nut the stock pin is very lose with a week worthless chain for just it case it rides up and out witch is dose and then all you have is the worthless little threaded rod to keep the front end from collapsing. I am not the only one doing this fix but I'm just giving my opinion for the fix I did for me. Rude Safe
Appreciate the video. It makes you think, for sure. Like my other commenter below, I haven’t heard the locking mechanism fail anyone. It’s supposed to be the best in the business. Does it mean it’s enough? Not necessarily. Safety first. But quick yet maybe dumb question. What you did, seems like now you really can’t fold the scooter then, right? You’d have to take it all apart, what you did.
Hey., I've watched every vid I could find about this scooter and so far did not see one showing the front end folding up, it's just I've had a few that did over the past 20 years. That's why it's one of the first things I check on a new scooter. It would only take me a few minutes to take off the nut's so really no big deal to me for the piece of mind. Ride Safe
I was gonna ask about that. I know this is ancient but I did something similar to him and the head broke off when I was tightening it lol. Also it had bent with time so that wasn't a good sign either.
hey., sorry man I tried putting a seat on my Nanrobot and hated it., felt like I was trapped so I took it off., I seen a few for the GT think the one sell sell on there sight is around $200. I wanna be able to jump off if I have to the seat made me feel like I couldn't do that but well was comfy., sorry best I can offer.
Hey man I really hope you didn't get hurt. Why would any engineer think there locking system was a good one??? The one safety pin rattles and falls out the little chain is worthless and then the only thing keeping the front end from folding up is the tiny 3/16" threaded rod? The scooter is over 120lbs add a rider around 175lbs then get going 60mph OMG the stress on that little threaded rod has to be a lot right? Sorry to babble man read some of the comments from the one's thinking I was clueless. Ride Safe.
Long as you feel safe with it good luck I did mine to make sure., Ride Safe., check around to see how many have failed before you trust it try looking on the FB groups...
OMG thank you man I didn't know this was a thing LOL. I had a normal one in there and it bent without my realizing. On top of that when I tried to tighten it after a few months the head snapped right off. That coulda been while I was riding!
Pointless. These things don't collapse when adjusted correctly. If you're worried about the pin falling out. Take it apart. Remove the rod and bearing. Put an r clip in the hole . No drilling required.
Doesn't look to be the safest set up with the weight of the scooter and it's driver I don't think Kaabo or any one scooter should be trusted solely on a pin or bolt look at how many vehicles are recalled for miscellaneous items that cause accidents it's always better to be or try to be safer than sorry

The only thing I would be afraid of is voiding the warranty and making it more difficult to fold up if you have to do it frequently.

high tensile bolts are black and a lot stronger than stainless
