Def talented and def underrated. He was doing his thing a good while before No Limit came along. Big Boy was the big shit down here with Mystikal, Partners N Crime, G Slimm, and a shit load more legit rappers. Local labels dominated the scene through the mid 90s, and Big Boy set the tone. Cash Money followed, and several others pumped out great music too. We'll never see that hustle again.

I love Mystikal, he's one of the best rappers and I got a lotta respect for him. One thing I particularly respect him for is the fact the dude was in the military. Rappers always say their soldiers and use the soldier reference and shit, and Mystikal is probably the only rapper who can say it literally. Mystikal fought in Desert Storm. How many rappers can literally say they are solider or they went to war. Mystikal can use those phrases but mean it 100% and it's not just some metaphor. In fact my brother is in the military now. He will listen to Mystikal and listen to him spit some military influenced lines and tell me Mystikal knows what the hell he's talking about. I know one line my brother appreciates is from Boot Camp Clicc when Mystikal says - you better be dressed for wet weather soldier, I get cold as North Dakota. He says that was literally the first thing they taught when he joined the military. So like, when Mystikal says some war, military related lines, he's not just talking shit trying to come up with slick bars, he actually knows what the fuck he's talking about. And that's what I like. Tons of respect to Mystikal, he's definitely a real one.
