I want to say Thank you to ring support for their amazing customer service. Got the ring doorbell last month and even after charging it a whole night the battery was showing low after using it just for one or two hours. I called the support team and they replace the battery within one week. A happy customer now!
How about a video showing how to add the Pro Power Kit to a hardwired Pro that the doorbell wires go right to the transformer. New home and no chime and I’ve lost all power to the Pro. Checked my transformer and it’s shorted. Hoping my back door doesn’t do the same...
If you read this and have the problem with it not going into setup mode you need a new transformer or a plug in transformer that is 24 volts. Ring advertises 16v as an option but recommend 20-30v.
Hey Bryce! For the Ring Pro, we recommend a wired connection to a 16-24 volt AC transformer with a 30 VA rating (volt-ampere). Those experiencing low power may have a transformer with a lower VA rating or there may be an issue with the wiring. We're happy to help look into any power concerns - feel free to give us a call anytime: ring.com/callus.
I had the original ring and then upgraded to the Ring Pro. I loved it until it stopped working recently. It is disconnected and seemingly has no power even though the transformer is working perfectly. The reconnect button doesn't respond and there are no lights on it at all - indicating to me a lack of power. The app shows 3996mV voltage. My chime and chime pro are still powered and connected to the network, but the Ring Pro itself appears to be dead. Unless this can be fixed, does anyone have a recommendation for a more reliable video doorbell?
We want to help ensure your Ring is functioning properly and we want to provide you with a long term solution. We have Social Care Advocates available on Facebook and Twitter if you want to send us a message, we are here to help. Also you can give our Community Support a call at 1-800-656-1918, (or if outside the US: ring.com/callus) between 5AM-9PM PDT, seven days a week for more support. We look forward to hearing from you.
I need to connect the Ring Doorbell directly to the transformer. Is using the bypass mode on the powerpack a similar concept to using a resistor. I am asking to ensure there is not too much power being supplied to the doorbell from the 24V transformer.
I used a 18v plug adapter and was suprised in the app it said it was 15v even though its rated 16-24v It did say the power was good power, as I had it directly wired without any doorbell inline with it
My ring pro suddenly stopped working. It’s getting 19 V to the back but if I try to sync it to the Wi-Fi nothing happens. I short the two wires together my indoor bell rings. Looks like it just died.
What a load! How about Ring design a product that works with most peoples homes? I was up until after 10pm with a tech trying to resolve this problem last night Now I get to root around my attic this evening to look for my doorbell transformer to replace.
We're sorry to hear this was your experience, Sean. We'd like to help turn things around and ensure you can get your Ring Pro set up. Please send us a private message on Facebook or Twitter with your Ring account email address so a member of our team can contact you directly. However, we'd be glad to discuss other options that may work better for your home. Hello, I installed my ring doorbell pro a month ago and it worked fine, the ring doorbell rings when pressed and my internal bell also rings “ding dong” right away, now when i press the ring doorbell, it rings fine but my internal only rings “ding” and delayed the “dong” for about 20 seconds. What is my problem ?
Am I unluckiest one? Still no power... used properly 3 weeks out of 4 months and 3 devices replaced. after 2 days good running with a new device it has been dead for 6 days...the last health report says good power. The whole house is rewired, no chime at home and all other powers work well. I am in London. Is it a London thing or just very unlucky? I am very frustrated....anyone from London who is running it well have any advice what to do?
Hi Jiyoung, we're sorry to learn about this and want to ensure your Ring Video Doorbell Pro is receiving power. Please send us a message on our Facebook or Twitter pages and our team can help find a solution for you.
Thank you for reaching out, Siena! We want to make sure your Doorbell is working as it should. Your Ring should never go off by itself. Please give our Community Support a call at 800-656-1918. We're available from 3 AM to 11 PM PDT 7 days a week and are always happy to help.

Hey neighbor, we'd like to look into this. If you have a battery-powered Ring Doorbell, we'd recommend still fully charging the Ring before wiring it to existing doorbell wiring. Great question, this is bypassing the chime kit and using power directly from the transformer. Let us know is you have any other questions, we are here to help.
So, this video explains how to resolve power problems by completely bypassing the home's doorbell? That doesn't sound like a solution. I've been using this doorbell camera for several months now. Love the camera, hate the fact that I was never able to make my doorbell work. Replaced the transformer, replaced the entire doorbell with a new unit, nothing worked.
Hi there. Bypassing your internal chime can help to route the transformer's power directly to the doorbell in the case of low power, or resolve issues concerning a chime kit that may not be compatible. We'd love to help find a solution for what you're experiencing - please feel free to reach out to us on Facebook via PM and we'd be happy to have someone look into your account.
I would try a 16 VAC , 30VA transformer or a 24VAC 40VA transformer. I would recommend the latter. I tried the former and still had issues. Less than before but still not 100%.
Does this procedure correct WiFi connection issues. I have WiFi up to 150 Mbps and downloads of 12 to 14 mbps but it keeps saying I have no internet. I have rebooted the router and the ring pro but still no connection even when it’s able to find several WiFi networks including mine when searching for a signal. It’s connected to my phone with the voltage showing “Very Good” and signal strength of RSSI-52 consistently. It’s also able ring my home’s doorbell with or without the V2 adapter.
Hey Alex, we'd love the opportunity to take a look into your Ring account and see what is causing your Ring Video Doorbell Pro to stay offline. Please give us a call anytime at 800-656-1918 and we would be happy to help find a solution.
