Thanks much for the tutorial, Miz Anna. We've got a ring of what looks like some kindof parasol growing in our yard. But no sign of green spores on or around it. Will look into it further.. d:^)
Great job on you videos. Appreciate the knowledge and insight. Moved to Raleigh NC a year and half ago and your videos have been helpful to learn this side of the US.
I thought of you the other day! My yard was covered in these small dark brown red mushrooms. Kinda has an Elmo walks through a forest fire color to them. We just had another deluge of rain but if I think About it ill snap a pic tomorrow. Great video as usual. Wish I knew more edible ones but sadly I think the only one I could ID with enough confidence to eat is a Dryad's Saddle.
I have never found the green spore, but I always keep an eye peeled when I'm gathering parasols.
Thanks Anna from Montezuma NY
Awesome video!!!
I found some yesterday!!! At a local park also.
Thanks for the great information, it's good to have rain and mushroom videos again!

Parasols have a maple syrup odor when you cook them. I think it would be really hard to mistake for a chlorophyllum. Plenty of signs.

Funnily I've never found one of these but I can't but to assume they smell as inedible as they look.

😎😊
They smell awful. I can't imagine being tempted to eat one.
