Because when I had my Dreamcast, I played on 55 inch Panasonic led. I didn’t know anyone playing a Dreamcast on that older model tv.

@@silversun1736lol well I dunno what cool world you were living in but the rest of us were using tvs similar to this. You may even recall electronics/game stores using a similar style for people to play on. I didn’t even get my hands on a 50 inch tv till nearly a decade after SA2 was released.
I was born in 2005 just as CRTs were on their way out, but I remember having that old “moderne” style entertainment center with the console set in one cubby and the VCR, GameCube, and Wii in the other side on their own shelves. Coming home from kindergarten and watching Sesame Street or playing Ocarina of Time and Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Lightsaber Duels was awesome, bro.

Yeah, they're both great! I love the super stylish introductions of SA2B, but I love the straight-to-the-point Dreamcast opening with the letters flying in too.

Sonic Adventure 2 even in 2024 still is a masterpiece.

If PlayStation didn’t destroyed dreamcast on sales, dreamcast could have been probably the biggest console to date in sales, this console was amazing, was ahead of his time
I mean you could say that about any console. But yeah i suppose if all 150 million people who bought a PS2 had bought a dreamcast, it would be the best selling, at like 165 million. Yeah Dreamcast didn’t sell too well. Even the Genesis sold far better.

There was a theme on the Nintendo 3DS based on the Sega Dreamcast. When you put it in Sleep mode and open it up it works play the VMU beep and whirring sound of the Dreamcast. Best $2.99 I’ve spent yet.

I forget that all the ticky, tacky, tactile process was apart of the experience back then.
I used to think the console was hooked up to and communicated with the main company's office too. That way they could guage your level of frustration and laugh at you.
Of course, that's more true now than before.

My goodness, a memory got unlocked when I heard that disc drive reading the game disc. I didn't remember it was so loud, but now I do! Hahahahah. What an amazing game Sonic Adventure 2 was. I miss playing Chao Adventure 2 in my VMU. Those Chao were my companions when my mom was giving birth to my little brother, so I keep this game pretty close to my heart. It brings back so many memories...

I found my childhood copy of Sonic adventure 2 cib the other day (grateful I kept it in good condition) and dusted off my dreamcast. Gonna start a retro collection so I bought marvel vs capcom 2 cib off ebay yesterday. Also found out I have the older dreamcast that can read read backup disc games but I will prefer to slowly build an authentic collection instead.
