    Go to 7 miles per hour and hold for 30 seconds.
    Go to 3 for 30 seconds.
    Go half a mile per hour.. 7.5
    Back down to 3 for 30 seconds.
    Back up .5

    I am overweight, and when I go to the gym and use the treadmill, when i run, I feel like it’s so loud with my footsteps. I get so insecure 😔😪

      Everyones too focused on their own workouts to care about how loud your footsteps are. At least youre trying !

      Same! I just put headphones in and try to forget about it. I never get funky looks, so I guess no one else cares or notices but me! You can also try and focus on how you’re running and not stomp when you run. It helps you run longer to focus on something else anyways and is better for your joints/shins!

      There's no need to be unsecured or embarrassed. That's the whole point of going to the gym to lose that stuff. Don't mind anybody else. You're not there for them you're there to improve your life. Do it for yourself. Next thing you know you'd be shaping your life.

    I have found great results in my 5/5 strategy. I do a fast walk for 5 minutes uphill and then I run (7 - 10) for 5 minutes and I do this back and forth for 45 minutes.

    I generally start by jogging at 7.5 for 3 minutes, then 8 for 3 min, 8.5 for 3, 9 for 3, 12 for 2 minutes, 15 for 1.5 minutes and come back down slowly with every speed atleast one minute. Works well for me

    Saw a trainer today have a client who is about 90lbs catch a 10 lb med ball while jogging on a treadmill and have them toss it back and forth . Tell me your thoughts .

    I just stick to a steady/fast walking pace on an incline and do for about 45 minutes. I have bad legs through breaking them when younger so running is tough. I sweat bucketloads doing this routine anyways and do it daily

      Gary Richardson facts... High incline and I do the same to lose body fat besides running. Running outside is better than on that treadmill. A treadmill is horrible to run on .

      I was like that a year ago. I can run for 2 mins straight now which isn’t much to some but it’s a lot for me given I have a knee injury.
      It takes time!!

    I do something similar. I walk for 3 minutes and either run or walk at a 15% incline for two minutes to where my bpm get to around 150. I find this a lot more enjoyable, less boring than LISS cardio. Also, I found that my bpm are elevated throughout the day after doing this type of interval which must mean I'm burning more calories just sitting at my desk. Also, this type of higher intensity workout increases your general fitness but it can beat up your joints if you run.

    Hi.may i know how many minutes do we need to do this? I did this 30sec run 30sec fast walk in the gym..but find it difficult to press the speed button manually.. how to set the machine in auto mode?

      If you have a precor machine in the gym you can select interval mode before pressing start then set it to a fast walk then on the active part set the speed and then the machine will do this for each rest/active part without you touching it again

    Try do 2-3 miles each time. If you split it 3-4 days so you can aim for 10miles each week.

    Guys this really works I do it at the gym and it’s really helpful trust me do it ITS SO TIRING LITERALLY I DIED AFTERWARDS but it’s worth it if you want to loose weight or get toned

      @@sergiopreciado9125 so for 30 seconds id go on the machine on a low setting such as 4 then the next 30 seconds id put the speed to 7 and do that for 30 seconds and i do that for 20 minutes i loose 150 calories due to not putting the speed high enough but i will do it tomorrow in the gym it is so helpful i can feel my muscles getting tight and im loosing weight aswell

    I have fucked up knees so I can’t do this. They crack and pop and when I run or jog they snap and I fall or catch myself then end up with a stiff and painful knee for a week I’m only 18 😤.

      @@zebushahg4164 theoretically yes, because weight loss leads to fat loss, which affect chest size.
      However, weight lifting mainly focus on muscle gain with minimal weight loss. Unless you change your diet or do cardio.
      So bigger chest muscles actually makes your chest looks bigger.
      And weight lifting wouldn't makes you become very muscular. It takes few years of 100% determinations to achieve that.
      Running everyday doesn't mean I will become Usain Bolt or beat his ass.

      Having done this myself a few times now a Miles is a good goal. when you set the tread to sprint at your max there is no reason you shouldn’t be tried by the end of it

    I walk at speed 5.5 at incline 4 for 20 minutes with changing it to 3.5 at incline 1 or 2 in between a

      @Srinivas Majji I can feel my legs toning up but I can't say if it's just because of the treadmill because I do 1 km air bike everyday along with aerobics and some 3km walk too. So I don't know which part is contributing in toning.

    I run 9.5mph for 1 minute and jog at 6mph for another minute. I repeat this for 10-12 times . .... hope that’s good? I hate my life while doing this

    I run at 6 or 7 till I get my heart rate over 120. Then I walk at 2.6 till my heart rate drops below 120. Then I run again till I get it back above 120. This is an old home treadmill someone gave me. I find it kind of boring thou.

    American 2.5 speed is way slower than 2.5 speed in the UK. UK 2.5 to USA is like a 3.5 speed or over on the treadmill. USA 2.5 speed is seems very slow

      2.5 miles per hour is roughly 4.0 kilometers per hour which is likely what you are describing.

    I’ve been doing this for the past year or so... start walking at 2 mi/hr and after a minute go to 4 mi/hr, after a minute come back to 2.5 mi/hr (4 is my max walking speed) and then 4.5 mi/hr and so on, I do this for 20 minutes and reach a max run of 9 mi/hr

      KID JERM here are my transitions for 20 minutes in terms of mi/hr: 2, 4, 2.5, 4.5, 3, 5, 3.5, 5.5, 4, 6, 4, 6.5, 4, 7, 4, 7.5, 4, 8, 4, 8.5, 4, 9 and then do a slow walk for three minutes, hope this helps 🙂

    The 9x more fat burn is simply not true. I don't know where it started, but it got repeated by personal trainers everywhere. Studies have found that fat burn was proportional to calories burned and interval training does no more than steady state.

      @@angelicwarrior4133 I have not done any research yet, but I am pretty sure intervals are more effective than regular cardio due to some 'after burn effect', but 9 times (900 %) more effective? Dont think so. Anyways, If intervals are more effective it is kind of strange. You move the same amount of mass over the same distance - wont that mean the same amount of calories burned? I will google it tomorrow 👍

    I stick to 4+ mph at full incline for a full hour. You burn hella calories doing so.
