so grateful to folks like these! as a former adoptee and foster -- we need more support of folks like these and less negativity! what are you doing to make our country better?!

awesome story... there's still goodness in this world. i, too, am adopting a special needs child, but only one, for now. keep up the great work. what comes around, goes around. you're blessed with those children.

As a foster/adoptive mom, I have great respect for the Costello family. No matter the subsidy, it is never enough to compensate for the demands and the known and unknown needs of the children. Multiply that by the time, effort, and hard work...yes, HARD WORK and a foster family is always in the red. Thank you for your unselfishness and unconditional love.

I just find it hard to believe that is enough for two people to deal with I hope they have family, and friends helping them out sounds to good to be true.

@@etherealenergy9471it is. My adoptive mom did the same, I was looking for someone to say the term in the comments. I think collector? It’s insanely difficult to meet all their needs. There definitely some neglect or some image to be upheld here. Could be projection it’s possible tho. Idk how

You guys are awesome family. I've watched this video over and over. Do you have and vids of your own, I would love to see them. I would love to adopt a child but I'm not well enough to do that. You r a blessing to the world. I love seeing people showing love and sharing that love with others.

That's very inspiring and shows others it's a will and want if you put your mind to it u can do anything or be anyone. I have worked with kids with behavioral problems and was also a paraeducator in the school setting. it's the most rewarding thing you can do not just for yourself but also for the those children that need us the most.

Our children receive a NYS subsidy based on the severity of their disability, their medical needs are covered by NYS medicaid. If you are feeling that we do this for the money then ask yourself how much money would make it worth it for you to sit and hold your baby in your arms while suctioning her lungs as she chokes on her own bodily fluids? To know that if she doesn't die today, then some day soon you will kiss her goodbye as her soul leaves this life. With faith and love we care for them.

  • @msdawnjay56
    @msdawnjay56 11 лет назад +1

I understand what you are saying. There are many people just in it for the money and the children suffer for it. That also happens in adult care also. But I would like to think there are good people with love and kindness to share their homes with all people who need it.

that is so inspiring, i have an interest in adopting a special needs child because of my experience with being special needs growing up, i was wondering is there a place for adults with special needs to adopt children with special needs because when i am able to i would love to adopt a child with special needs preferably a daughter who has autism spectrum disorder so i can relate to her.

They do not do it 24/7.
There are services available for them to help them out. My parents take care
of my aunt who is disable. They come out 3 times a week mon, wed and fri
they clean her room, wash her clothes, give her a bath, and interact with her
for 3 hours each day. That give my parents a much need break.
They get there SSI check, and food stamps, plus help from the local food banks
I much rather see people like these do this then some business do it and pay workers $7.75 per hour

    $750.00 for SSI x 15 = 11,250 per month
    $150.00 for food stamps x 15 = $2,250 per month
    total per year $162,000
make sure the go to school every day they get 2 free meals
    at school per day.
they have services available for them to from social services that comes in and
helps them for free to give them a break.
food from the local food banks for free,
believe me they do not do it all themsevles with that many kids with that many problems they have to have help

@@boomchicka001why work if you get SSI payments from multiple children. Finding a job these days especially for older people is not easy. You can't walk in to meet people all done online against probably five hundred people applying for the same job.
