Sony won here is why.
1. Shenmue 3 is console exclusive.
2. NieR is exclusive
3. FF7 remake is a timed exclusive but, a much better one than Tomb Raider
4. Horizon looks like a amazing new IP
5. Uncharted looks like it will be action game of the year
6. Media Molecule's new game it looks very innovative and different
7. The Last Guardian
Sony has many other exclusives such as Persona 5, Star Ocean, and Tales of Beseria that weren't at the conference they have tons of games coming out in the future.

Microsoft beat Sony, but we all know that neither are number 1. Bethesda is number 1, Microsoft number 2, Sony with a close number 3. Bethesda blew everyone away with Fallout 4 and Doom.
Shodspartan100 I am very impressed with the Holo Lense. I think VR is still ahead of its time. You have to invent different kind of games for VR. And more tech improvement is needed as well. But Holo Lense can make ur life a scifi one without much radical change to the existing games and 3D softwares. Can anyone tell me how much they might cost?
Bethesda announced that Fallout4 will be modable on the PS4 in the future. They are testing it on Xbox.
Miguel Cabrera Its not hologram my friend. Hologram is different, Holo Lense is Augmented Reality. They are merging video in real time and you are watching the video. I think Holo Lense core tech have been in use for a decade now. Sports broadcasters project the score on the grass, under the feet of the players using the same tech.
Holo Lense took it way farther. They are doing it with 2 real time streams, the virtual 3D video is projected on the video stream of reality, ie, the wall or on the table in your camera feed. Its also aware of the movement, so its much more complex. But I think they crossed the major hurdle already. Whereas, I think VR has many hurdles to cross still.
In my opinion, Holo Lense has more chance of success and mass user adoption. But my opinion is from outside. Dont know the details and what MS plans to do with it.
Shodspartan100 4, 5, 6 - tbh I don't care all that much about them. Especially don't get why people all whimsical with fallout 4. People haven't played it. People haven't seen its performance in real life (outside of videos on stage). And for me stories in fallout and characters in fallout are very um... boring. Every character is a like a damn tree or a wall. Talking to those objects usually provide same satisfaction.
Rise of Tomb Raider indeed looks damn great :( Can't say if it's better than Uncharted... but looks indeed great. Backwards compatibility is also amazing thing, but as of right now I think everything what microsoft was saying back in xbox reveal thing is apparently a lie. Holo lens - those looks great on stage, but need more hands on testing. We all saw watchdogs and stuff.
I'm more of a sony fan in all these console wars, but microsoft showed a rather interesting tech, very promising um... promise :) And one exciting Lara game I'll be looking forward to play on PC. Sony showed 2 games - Horizon something something and Firefighter. Buuuut horizon is PS4 exclusive => I don't care and Firefighter is on PC too. Uncharted is also exlcusive => I don't care.
Oh yeah. And #7 is complete meh on their current price.
Shodspartan100 ehhhh.. I don't know about "easily better than Uncharted", NaughtyDog is a very talented developer, and with them knowing they have competition in the genre and this supposedly being the finale, I wouldn't doubt they went all out for this one..
I think Fallout won E3 but between Microsoft and Sony, Hololens and backwards compatibility are what makes MS the winner between the two. Hololens made me think wtf when the table sunk in and a castle came out it was amazing.
I doubt it will work that well at launch. I would give it years of upgrading to play even minecraft. It's not even playing, just being an overseer.

Carpediem06 Greg, Colin and Tim and Nick (two behind the scenes IGN guys) stated their own podcast while still working at IGN. (Kindafunny). They weren't allowed to talk about games etc on their own channel so they talked about random stuff..
Eventually they quit IGN to focus on "kinda funny" . they also started another channel KindafunnyGames and a patreon for both channels (Which was/is very successful)
I believe KF had a patreon before they quit IGN (not sure, don't exactly remember) it was so successful they realized they could make much more money and work for them selves (do and talk about what they like best) so they quit IGN)
Sony for the most hype (The Last Guardian, FF7 and Shenmue), Microsoft for best games lineup overall, Bethesda for best game (Fallout 4)

I would t say most hype, the best word I word use for Sony was most surprises, although some of those games don't cater to most people they are still rest games to see at E3.
Also I would like to note that if Microsoft left out just about everyone of their 2016 games from e3, including AAA games like scalebound, quantum break (which I am very excited for), and crackdown.
I truly wish that some people would acknowledge the fact that Xbox conference was all about this year and games that are real and coming out. Not just cinematic trailers and remakes. If they had more time in their press conference they would've surely put in all of their games but there's only so much you can do in 90 minutes
Sea of thieves was gameplay and dark souls isn't an Xbox exclusive, just because it appears in a conference it doesn't make it exclusive

MrGaryTOnline ??? Seeing as Horizon was the first, and only, Forza game to date with a day/night cycle and weather, I would say calling it "better" is highly subjective. I like Forza, so I don't knock others who like it, but it's only now becoming a complete racing title. For many years it was half baked, at best....so I would say until we see something from Polyphony about the next Gran Turismo, the juries still out on that one.
Please bring them back next year this is amazing

Idk. Remove the kickstarter campaign (a 2017 game at the earliest), the fact that FFVII is multi plat (my money is also on 2017), and you just have Uncharted, The last Guardian, two 2016 games. Sony shouldn't win E3 2015 with 2017 promises, Microsoft wrecked this year and come this holiday everybody is going to realize it.

For people that think "Oh Ps4 has nothing coming this fall", you are wrong, in exclusives the PS4 has: Until Dawn (horror), Uncharted Collection (a must if you never own a ps3), Tomorrow Children (Make anything you want but you have to protect your city), Tearaway Unfolded, hopefully Rime and Maybe even Shadow of the Beast, and Beta for No Man's Sky...
We gamers won this e3 with so many great games everywhere.... Let just appreciate this e3 cuz all companies sony, microsoft , bethesda and other done really a great job making this e3 one of the best

***** Uhh, I've got bad news for you son. Halo is coming on Oct. 27th, cool. But the problem is, less than two week after that launch, come Tomb Raider, launching on the same damn day as Fallout 4. That is a problem. You know what else is a problem for Microsoft? In just another week after that, on the 17th of November come Star Wars Battlefront. So Sony only gamers will be finishing up MGSV before hopping into Fallout and Battlefront. Sounds good to me. Tomb Raider just became much easier to wait for, and Halo isn't my cup of tea, so really I think it's not what you're trying to make it out to be.
And that's just mentioning those two multiplats...we all know there are many more in that same time window, it's going to be nuts. Microsoft should really considering pushing Tomb Raider into December because it's sales are going to be cannibalized by Fallout and Star Wars. True talk.

Shenmue 3 is not going to be console exclusive. Now that it's funded, they're now trying to get it on Wii u and xbox one as well.
For me this e3 rank goes like this. Sony > Microsoft > Bethesda > Ubisoft > Square Enix > EA > PC > Nintendo.

3 games who no one expecting and everyone believe are dead or impossible to make, appear on the same conference! The only missing are Half life 3 and Beyond good and evil, but even if they are made, I doubt to be on the same conference... even on the same e3 year. And that's for me is full win, for the HISTORY!
I don't give a damn who won, this E3 was all about the games.
One of the few times ive fully agreed with the opinions and analysis of the gamespot crew and kinda funny guys, they analyzed and read through a lot of the content very well and didn't let over-hype catch up to them, which i cant say for most of the e3 viewers this year.
Microsoft simultaneously doing the immediate and holiday releases and then far future and early tech and leaving 2016 and other mid-term releases for the next big showing was pretty genius, backwards compatibility is going to have a LOT of xbox's sold by the holiday, and at the same time knowing that well some day be playing holographic card games with actual 3d modeled holographic action in front of you is absolutely amazing for a showing.
Sony had great entries but few were both worth getting excited for or ACTUALLY exclusive. the best things seen from their conference was Horizon and The Last Guardian, but other than that there wasn't really anything to get me excited to have specifically have a ps4.
All in all i feel like no one really LOST e3 except for maybe nintendo. All the showings were great, i just hope that soon once the realization of what Sony ACTUALLY announced i hope people see how great the microsoft showing was, Sony definitely didnt lose but id like to see a good argument as to why Microsoft didn't win.

No one is talking about how ridiculous the Shenmue 3 announcement was. It was just the developer speaking broken English, telling us how we have to fund the game ourselves. A game that a handful of people have has been waited on for 14 years.

I don't know why people think Sony won, I'm sure if Xbox wanted to they could have announced a ton of games that weren't even coming out in the next year. Sony had far far fewer games that are actually even going to be playable by christmas or even maybe e3 next year.
Within ~30 days Rainbow six, Assassins creed, Halo, Black Ops, Fallout, Tomb Raider, and battlefront are all being released.... 5 highly anticipated 3rd parties and 2 xbone exclusives... xbox is commiting exclusive suicide... IT MAKES NO SENSE TO HAVE EXCLUSIVES THIS HOLIDAY and obviously sony knows this. Fallout and tomb raider are comming out on the same day, TR is basically DOA... Youre delusional if you think halo sales wont suffer being released 10 days before COD and Fallout... Sony has nothing to worry about.

Horizon Zero Dawn was literally the only new game announcement that meant anything to me, and Colin's statement that Sony is winning the future means nothing because he is comparing Sony's future releases against MS', who basically only showed games that are coming in the next year (who he also mentioned). In fact, they moved some of their biggest titles to Gamescom precisely because they wanted to focus on near-immanent releases (again, as Colin did say).
With regard to the Shenmue 3 announcement, it sickens me that this event happened. People like to say Sony is gauging the interest in the title, but they have far better ways to do that. The fact that Sony is asking people to fund the game, and not just do it themselves leaves me thinking they themselves have no faith in the title.
It's nice that it's hit it's goal and still has a ton of time left to get more, but I find it to be an insult to the creator and the franchise that a crowd funding endeavor was announced on the stage of a company that publishes games.
One of the biggest reasons it annoys me is because it was indicative of why the Sony conference only had 1 new game announcement of any import, as I said, Horizon Zero Dawn.
The big three announcements from Sony, that of the FF7 Remake, the Shenmue 3 KS, and The Last Guardian, were all carrots dangled in front of the public's proverbial donkey. The first two are only timed exclusives, and are still at least 2 years away from releasing, and The Last Guardian looks better than it did way from in 2009, but it looked like it was the same zone from the original trailer, with no sign of what the game actually is, or when it's coming out - for all we know it too could be 2+ years off. I HIGHLY doubt it will release before next E3 (hopefully we'll find out more at Playstation's event later this year), honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't come out until Holiday 2016 at the earliest. All flash and promise of games coming in a few years, leaving their next 12-24 months with basically only games I can get everywhere coming to the system.... also, where were Until Dawn and Persona5, the only actual exclusives (possibly) coming this year, and nothing... *shakes head*

Phil Spencer is shaping up to be an amazing character in gaming.
The titles and Original IP were fantastic. Backwards Compatibility was fabulous along with all the hardware. It was just game after game. The inclusion of Windows 10 titles was a brilliant step by Microsoft. The idea of subtly brining PC and XONE together is HUGE!
Not a fanboy at all, but I think Microsoft is doing a great job of turning around the disaster they made earlier.
Just to prefix what I'm about to say, i'm not a fan boy, I've been stupidly fortunate to have every console from both MS and Sony ever since they were released, spending most of my time playing online on my Xbox I.e COD, Medal of Honor, Gears, Halo etc and probably having some of my finest single player moments happening on my PlayStations i.e Last of Us, Resident Evil, Dark Souls, Shadow of Colossus etc,. In short I love both.
With that said I feel Xbox had the stronger conference. In terms of pitfalls that a company can have during a conference I think they dodged every bullet. They showed some great games (coming this autumn), an experimental tech that had me actually say 'woah no way', an amazingly consumer friendly announcement in BC, and all this without 3 huge Exclusives (crackdown, scalebound, quantum break).
Sony nailed it with emotion and presentation but all that sheen and shimmer doesn't equate to what I'm gong to be spending my money on. I don't give a hoot about Morpheus, FF7 is being made by an untested studio, Shenmue isn't even in development yet etc etc. Don't get me wrong I CANT F'ING wait for uncharted and last guardian, but the truth is when I go back through what I'm going to be spending money on and what's exciting me, MS wins hands down.
I'm as unbias as the day is long, but I think emotional response to a personality, charismatic approach to a conference does not = winning, and I suspect when you break it down, hell even break down what was said in the above video, most rational people would think the same.
In all fairness like I said I've got both consoles so I'm buzzing either way, but yeah, I just suspect that Colin's heart is speaking where I think his head is knows the fact on this one. (that said he always gives a fair approach, love you guys) x

The "games" war was close. MS wins with with backwards compatibility/other tech. Also its games are out sooner, and they made no mention of things like Quantum.
Sony probably had a lot of excitement for sure and an amazing show, but only so much of that is attributed to them. Regardless, im glad to own both :)

but everything in those games has been in other games in one way or another but no company has ever made a game that has come close to the scale and complete awesomeness of no mans sky!

What Colin said very quickly almost as a throw-away comment blew my mind. It seemed so fanboyish to say that the Microsoft Hololens is and I quote, "a gimmicky kind of piece of tech". Now I would understand it if he said it was a gimmicky piece of tech related to how they showed it with minecraft or it would be with games in general. But he didn't, he seemed to refer to Hololens on the whole as a gimmicky piece of tech, IMHO. Actually, it seems as none of the Kinda Funny Guys know exactly what Hololens really is and my perception from them anytime they bring it up is that they seem to think Hololens was made with games in mind. Like when Nick was saying that watching a guy play Minecraft on a TV on the wall is boring backs up my suspicions that they don't really know what Hololens is. I'm fairly certain Hololens for video games was one of the very last reasons on the list for Microsoft to develop this product. To me Microsoft made it compatible with Xbox One (thus video games) because not only does it go along with their Windows 10 and everything connects to everything else that has Windows 10 on it but it also opens another consumer base to it and it shows yet another reason for people to want it. I personally think it could be a revolutionary product and will be the only thing out there that has the potential to replace many electronics that are currently in our homes, for example Televisions and Clocks to start with. But more importantly I think it could replace our towers, laptops, tablets and any other types of computers we have all together eventually. This coupled with what I previously mentioned could bring us into a new electronic era. Imagine having one wireless device that you can wear that can be your TV, Future Xbox, and your computer all at the same time in one product. And when you take it off there isn't a TV on top of a dresser or hanging on a wall. No Gaming Console in an entertainment center or on a shelf of some kind. No Computer Desk or huge Tower Computer in it and Monitor on it. No electronics to be seen anywhere just tons of open space in your house. Only thing occupying corners of rooms would be beautiful natural sunlight or oxygen giving life sustaining plants if you prefer. That is how great I think Hololens can be contingent of course on the fact that it works the way they have been saying and showing us. So to say that it is "a gimmicky piece of tech" either makes you a fanboy of another company because you obviously just hate Microsoft or you are totally misinformed on what Hololens actually is. I hope in Colin's case it is the latter, even though I know he has an affinity for Sony because I like Kinda Funny but don't like Journalism that isn't impartial. If I'm going to be fair though he didn't specify what or why it was gimmicky.
I don't really want to rank them but I'd say Sony won in terms of game announcements, Microsoft won in terms of tech (some of their exclusives look cool, I'm biased against gears of war so), and Bethesda won in terms of being the best balanced and giving information on games due out this year. EA wasn't that interesting, but they did have some stuff that I liked such as Unravel, and Ubisoft sits at the bottom with Jason Derulo
Fallout 4 was definitely over hyped, yeah it was good and all but people are just over-hyping it because its Fallout.
Personally, I think that the backwards compatibility is unimportant. I'd prefer to have more new games, and that doesn't include remakes. I owned a 360 and I've played enough of them.
Colin, why is Gears remaster a big game for the fall but the Uncharted collection (3 games btw not 1) not a big game? Also I love that you keep glossing over games like Until Dawn, Tearaway Unfolded, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Rime, The Tomorrow Children and Alienation which are all Sony published exclusives coming this year along with de facto exclusives like Persona 5, Disgeae 4 and Dragon Quest Heroes. But you're right Sony has no games. Of course Microsoft had no games for the first 8 months of the year, while Sony had multiple big exclusives timed and fully exclusive like Bloodborne, MLB The Show, Axiom Verge, Helldivers, Hotline Miami 2. OlliOlli 2 and The Order (which wasn't great I know, still worth mentioning) but who cares lets focus on 2 months of the year where Sony has fewer AAA games.
Well I gotta buy a PS4 now lol.

Great e3 overall. Sony had higher highs but drawn out lows and Microsoft had the best conference from start to finish. Tons of great stuff for gamers this year. But nintendo? Hitin the restart button I guess.

Hey GameSpot, here's a thought. Why not get Kinda Funny into the GameSpot network to kind of support them. Kind of like how Funhaus is to Roosterteeth. They are still their own channel but share the benefits of GameSpot.

Tomb Raider is not an Xbox Exclusive. It's a timed Exclusive. Street Fighter is not a timed Exclusive. It really is only Exclusive to Ps4 and PC. There is a difference. Microsoft came swinging with backwards but Sony had and has the better games.

Games are a matter of opinion, just like movies. We as a gaming industry need to focus on individual games and not consoles. These consoles exclusives are whats killing the gaming industry. I can understand one game exclusive for each console, but anymore than that ruins the experience for the other console owners. I own a PS4 so i'll never experience HALO 5, just like XBOX 1 owners will experience Uncharted 4. It's a shame I have to buy two or maybe 3 consoles to fully enjoy every game. That's just my two cents.
My Xbox 360 sits in my wardrobe it has for a long time ,yet my PS3 is always used daily and my vita but they just ticked every box and convinced me that maybe ps4 is not my next purchase Xbox with Hololens and 360 compatibility is worth changing teams . I'm sure I'm not the only one using pc and holding off on choosing which platform to commit to this gen.

I've got more bad news for this guy....kinect was an impressive tech demo once too...look how that turned out. Hololens won't see the light of day until 2017, at the earliest, and you have no idea if it will work as advertised. And that's what you're basing your purchase on? I've got more news for you, because you seem completely oblivious to the truth.....hololens is not console dependent. It's a standalone product that doesn't need the xbone to function. Good plans by you, lol.
