Man it's a shame they didn't implement Halberds with pointed ends, so that the attacks don't have to look so unnaturally fast.
What I mean is that after you've done a swing you can still hit with the other side of the polearm, because it's either a steelball or a pointy bit, so that there doesn't have to be such a "teleporting" of the weapon back to attack position.
Basically, I don't like that the halberd is being used here like a war-axe instead of what it actually is, a halberd.
The normal attack pattern does use both sides if I remember correctly, but here hes cancelling the rest of the pattern by blocking and only using the first attack over and over

Ok I know if you block, push and hold it will do a charge downward strike but how do you down the downward strike multiple times without pushing?
It simply repeats the light attack → block and cancel → light attack.
Can you explain the purpose of Barskin in this build? It seems you are stacking damage reduction, do you feel this is more effective than just DMG focused merc?
the purpose? It is damage reduction. Because Mercenary can acquire temporary physical strength easily, there is no particular problem in the amount of recovery at the time of Barskin specification. For me Barskin is like a talisman.
@@chocoB777 I see! Do you think this kind of build is superior to a more DPS focused build? I tend to run merc more offensively with success but really have not tried this kind of build. Seems interesting, nice video!

I think Barkskin/Damage Reduction is a logical choice for a solo run.
How do you keep doing the sweep power attack everytime i use halbered it alternates between 2 single target attacks then the sweep
just do a normal block, don't push ( so just right click) and then let it go quick. It immediately swipes the halberd to the left. Goes really well with your strikes and is good for temp health
so everytime you fight to clear you do the following
block sweep, block sweep
just repeat
How do you animation cancel so fas? i always end up blockpushing instead.
I think that is a matter of timing. Please block and cancel immediately after a light attack. If you enter a write attack with block input, it will be pushed

I think there is a serious lack of Educational Build Videos on RUclips and in General on WV2, Verminbuilds isnt really up to date either. Nice Gameplay as Always tho

Top left on each on his videos u can see his build, he doesnt explain them but they are kinda self explanatory so that works for me, still I enjoy detailed build videos but I'm here merely for the raw gameplay and skills this man have
Build guides don't get you anywhere if you don't know how to use them.
After so many odd hours into this game I can tell you that the best guide is your own experience. Use what weapons you're best with, what stats you feel you'll utilize the most, stuff like that.
Now that all the weapons are in a really good place, "power vs x" stuff is only so useful for most builds. Mercenary, for example, doesn't really use them because he already has a ton of crit and attack speed, and handgun one shots specials already.
If you need build guides, you can follow his.. but he won't tell you how to use them. You gotta figure that out yourself.
Unfortunately I am not English speaking people so it is difficult to express the details in English. I would like to share my thoughts and techniques with everyone. Although this is an advice, I think that it is important to read the technique that I thought was beneficial from the video and try it. I learned a lot from J who is the player I respect most. It was difficult to understand the contents, but by imitating his impressive technique, I was upgraded from beginner to the present. I am grateful. It is fully possible. However, the current Mercenary is better than FK. Mercenary is better if you make better use of Halberd.
@@chocoB777 Yeah its 5% faster and 10 more crit, but I love FK skill, and I can't get that freaking fast animation cancel good enough to do something like that

How do you consistently do the hoard clearing swing?
it's called block cancelling, you attack and then quickly block which resets to the start of the combo

I actually prefer executioners sword and blunderbust (depending on what map though) but to me when it comes to solo I'd prefer executioners sword
