This song still takes my breath away. Perpetual thanks to HarryRunt for making these available--I saw this song live many times, so rich, so stunning. There were times I couldn't even clap, overcome with emotion. "Our Hero" indeed.
HarryRunt, GREAT rendition of 2 of my faves! When was this recorded? Sounds like I hear Kasim singing, but yet it sounds like more than 1 keyboardist. Also, if that's Willie drumming, it's the best I've ever heard him play! All of the boys just kickin' ass! Which ever line-up it is! Thanks for posting, great job as usual!!!
This was recorded April 1978 at the Old Waldorf in San Francisco. Two shows a night for 4 days. Was at this show with several friends and it still stands out as the best ever. Todd, Kasim, Rodger and Willie were absolutely extraordinary that night.
My favorite Utopia song.
This is such an awesome performance of the song.

Awesome !
The Ikon / Seven Rays
Sounds like the full Utopia lineup. Thank you. Had never heard this version before.
awesome !
Thank You...
Yeah, I need every one of the Seven Rays to Survived the Pandemic .
Wonderfully hysterical. Sounds a bit like Zappa. Gotta love Todd.
He thinks like Zappa. They were born and raised an hour from each other.
Yes...In the Name...
Ikonic!
The Ikon intro is so rushed it sounds like they're all on speed!

If the foto matches the sound, that's Kaz in the background. It wasn't unusual, if I remember correctly, for Roger and Ralph to tour (2 keys) :)
