    I really like the simplicity with which you made the lawn mower. I am looking forward to seeing an even more explicit clip made by you, so that even those who know nothing in the field have the courage to start building such a useful object, and if possible a clip in which you disassemble it and then assemble it back.

      Thank you I am going to take it apart to paint the mower so I will try to do another clip

      @@redbull5037 What type of motor controller do you use? And is it the radio you have configured to do the control of the two motors? I am thinking on the mix of the two for steering..

    Nice job. To think i had a Murray used it for 15 years, repaired it at the level of carburetor, and taking the piston out, adjusting the valve etc. , then donated it to a guy. I went and bought a Self-propelled EGO mower. You put the Murray to a better use. 👍

    I wonder if you could drive an alternator off that drive shaft to extend your run time with the battery? Nice build!

  • @willdwyer6782
    @willdwyer6782 2 года назад +1

    You could put a belt on that pulley on the side of the engine and power the wheels with an alternator instead of a battery.

    Very good implementation. Are you running 2 dewalt 5AH batteries in parallel ? Is the speed controller and motor working good with 18V ?

    • @ThingToDo
      @ThingToDo  2 года назад +1

      It is running fine even too fast on one battery 20v. The parallel setup just for longer use.

    Could you run a small alternator off that side pulley to keep the battery charged ?

    • @ThingToDo
      @ThingToDo  3 года назад +1

      I think that one is not enough rpm for alternator. Also I used Dewalt battery so it would need to charge with balanced charger. Thank you, I’be been thinking something for that pulley but…

      Are you talking about the way the lawn mower moves left and right like a tank?
      if you are then that is control by the speed controller that I have for the mower as I just steer using the wheel of the remote normally.
      if that not what you mean then I do not know how to do that with the remote, sorry.
      thank you

    I've been watching a lot of RC mower vids since I wanted to build one myself. I haven't seen anyone control them zero-turn style. Left stick for the left motor, right stick for the right motor. It seems to me this would be much more nimble and easier to control.

    Hi, how long does the battery last?

    • @ThingToDo
      @ThingToDo  Год назад

      I did not really time it, but my front yard is about 30 ft x 40 ft and the 5A battery is about to slow down.
      I do kind of wasting the battery energy by driving it all over the place since I have a hard time to keep it go straight :) and also just to have fun.

      I bought the wheels and motors on eBay, searching for wheelchair motor and wheel. There are many types, just pick the one you think it works with your setup.
      The controller is from Amazon, www.amazon.com/dp/B07V692RFS
      The Dewalt battery adapter, I printed with 3D printer, template you can find on Thingiverse.
