Matt, you didn't miss a thing. This song was in my head because the Dodger Stadium organist used to love it back in the Koufax days and it popped into my head. That's where I learned it. As a Chet fan(and Everly fan, Chet found them and got them going), I had to hear this.
Who ever gave a thumbs down, for what? Not liking the pictures on the wall? 90% of us guitarists would be proud to play like him! Thank you for sharing.
Another master piece by a master. Five STARS That does it, I have been in physical rehab for two years because of a lower back injury and severe damage to both rotator cuffs. But after hearing and seeing your superb playing skill, I got the irresistible urge to play again. If it wouldn't wake up my sweetheart, I start right now but I am definitely starting tomorrow! Thanks for posting one of my favorites.
Your playing is beautiful... fluid, smooth, with lots of feeling, and perfect tremolo action. A wonderful treat for all of us fans of Mr. Guitar. Thank you for your postings.
Have been to London, Paris and Rome. Now let's go to San Antone, the River Walk, maybe a little haven on earth. Let's go and have a lot fun along the River Walk, in San Antone!!! Wow!!!
Hi Matt - thats nice, smooth and bouncy a big well done,I no longer play chet instrumentals on my 1962 Gretch Country and have gone over to country music vocals - thank you for sharing, please keep them coming Thank you Dave
Matt--not sure if I Ilke your playing the best--or the picture of confidence and humility you exhibit when you play. It's a toss up, because both are so valuable---but together, as you do it, priceless. Keep them coming Mr. Cowe!!
Hi Matt, Like your style great guitar very nice sound. I can remember Chet playing this number way back in 60s. Keep up good work. Do you happen to have any good Chet Backing tracks. Cheers Les.
Isso é sensacional. It's amazing. I really liked very much. Go on Guy, you rock. Sorry for my english. I am not a native english speaker. Greetings from Brazil. We also have amazing talented people here. I will share your job with my friends in Brazil. Don't give up, never. Your job is just wonderful.
Matt -- what a great artist you are. Thank you so much for posting your videos. If you don't, would you please tell me the model of your Gretsch? It looks like a 6120 Chet Atkins Hollow Body but I can't tell for sure. Thanks again.
Il "fingerstyle" non è il mio forte, in quanto diverso dal mio stile TWANGY, ma so benissimo capire quando un chitarrista lo segue bene. Matt Cowe è un chitarrista bravissmo in questo particolare stile di CHET ATKINS.
A Gretsch G-6120 Chet Atkins model with Filtertron pickups, just like Chet himself. Couldn't be any better. Thanks!
Can't get enough of this video, I am driving my wife nuts playing it
over and over.

What a great sound Sir.......
Cheers, glad to be an inspiration!
Fantastic performance! That Gretsch CG is wonderful!!! Don't make 'em like that any more!
That’s not a CG, and is in fact a modern made in Japan version. So they actually do.
Beautiful !!! Flawless.
Talent Par Excellence. He is an exact model of virtue as far as Art is concerned. No IQ test can measure his musical intelligence.
Absolute first-rate performance, on par with the finest that Chet Atkins could offer.
Excellent Matt.
Wonderfully done!!!!
Well done. Well done indeed.
This is great. First class all the way. Charles

Hi there, yes it is a standard 6120
It is a 6120. I have one, 1962, has the snap-on pad on the back for access to the inside of the guitar and also helps protect from belt buckle damage
Well,I m a fan now

Excellent playing, many years ago I had a Gretsch Tennessean but my playing ability was nowhere near to yours.
