What’s up I have a party boat there lol that’s the lake I grew up with. You definitely need to come when the lake is at its prime during the summer. If you go when everyone is partying out there it’s a whole different story lol ever want to come out during those times lmk lol
As of Aug 11 the lake has been finally cleared from all debris coming from mountains. I’m truly surprised you didn’t hear about the storm before you took your trip bc it’s unbelievable to us to think that you were unaware that we had faced such tragedy and were in process of rebuilding. I used to spend at least one day & night going to Lake. It’s been very quiet and mostly unused since the floods & storms. I’m a bit surprised you don’t check up on the areas you’re visiting before going. An month earlier, you probably couldn’t have taken your ride on the lake. And trust me there’s so much fun to do on the lake, we have had some of our best family times together since my children were young, with both Wakeboarding and House-boating for 35 years. Fishing, Derby’s, wakeboarding, skiing, tubing, bbq in Cove , boars getting together and enjoying company. Dock parties where we hang lights and fish with music, food, friends and drinks. Sleeping out under the stars all night! You come back next year and join us!!
It's a tiny lake and it's usually half empty but now it will be full for a while due to the record snowfall. I live 25 mins away and only go there for shore fishing (and the hills are beautiful and green only from Feb-April then it turns ugly brown like you saw). I wouldn't recommend anyone travel to this lake from far away, there's just not much to it lol. But 10 minutes after the lake is Three Rivers which a nice little mountain town to explore for a day.
all the wood is from the march storms kaweah river was roaring and was bringing down lots of down trees it was very bad during the storms and the marina was being redone from last july wind/lightning & thunder storm. The marina broke loose from the shore and drifted off. lots of houseboats sank because of this storm the winds were crazy
If the lake is fed by a damn, when they flush the damn out a lot of built up debris can be pushed out even if it's not from recent storms just built up
Lake has changed alot since I was here. Nice to see a marina there now. Beautiful scenery on your way to Sequoia, thank you for the memories

Makes sense. I was later told that the lakes were all empty in the area to prepare for the snowmelt. So it definitely was a stormy season

Watch out for the racist lake patrol cop.
