- Heavy Coal Trains, Railroad Diamonds, Union Pacific Railroad Leads Giant Train Through The S Curves At The Railroad Crossing. School Bus Waits For Train With Kid Yelling Out The Window & Various Angles Of Trains Crossing The Diamonds. These Norfolk Southern and CSX trains are in Marion, Ohio. We also see some trains with DPU locomotives.
The first two trains are coal trains headed westbound on the Norfolk Southern line headed towards Chicago. The view of the first one is pretty awesome. Looking down on the train as it slams the diamonds. The next coal train came just as a school bus got to the crossing. The lucky kids got excited and one of them can be heard yelling at me to stop recording the train. That was odd. I feel bad for the poor bus driver. Lol
We also have a Norfolk Southern local running eastbound with an SD40-2 and a few cars. After that we see a big CSX eastbound train with DPU hit the diamonds. Check out the size of some of the auto rack cars. After that a CSX locomotive runs by in both directions with a conductor riding on it.
The last two trains are Norfolk Southern eastbound trains. They are running geographically south but railroad east. The line runs east/west between Chicago and Portsmouth, Virginia. Don't forget to see what the pets are doing and we also have the slide show that comes from the video.
Filmed May 17, 2023 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

My OCD brain is happy that the coal was so nicely and evenly distributed in all of those cars!
Great videos as usual, coal train still with a few Conrail hoppers in the consist. Fantastic vantage point.
Nice you caught a Union Pacific thundercab

Awesome video JT a lot of train action, great video, love those coal trains.👌👍😇
Why would anyone love coal cars carrying potential death to thousands of people 😕!
Hey Jaw Tooth, seeing the trains going through
the small towns like here is really great and
always like watching them in the less busy
areas of the towns, always really great to
see the trains here Thank You Jaw Tooth.🤠
🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨
That diamond rhythm is hypnotic.
Yes it is! Only time I get to hear it is in videos none close to me 😢
Coal,IM trains booking, huge manifest with mid helper DPU are great, good footage and seen You on RR Spikers video!🛤🚂👍
Another Home Run Video JT, those autoracks were really smacking those diamonds. Thanks.
Good day rail fanning. Two coal drags, auto racks, intermodal, locals. Good stuff JT..thanks
What's better than a railroad diamond? A double railroad diamond! A cool location for trains :)
How about a triple railroad diamond?
Well there's one in Fostoria ohio if you're curious just search Fostoria iron triangle
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo ! 👍🙏
Your initial assessment of the caboose was correct. "Erie - Lackawanna" is based on the stylized "E-L" on the brand herald. The "Erie" brand was a diamond with "Erie" inside the circle.
From Deb…to me, even just one, lone locomotive rolling along is so cool!
More great music provided by the band "The Marion Diamonds". Number 3 camera looks sharp and clear with good color. Hard to think of a better lunch interuption, unless it was steam...... Liked this video a lot, thanks man!
Very close to my hometown! I would love to see this train station in your video someday, not far away. Thank you for posting.
Another great video from Jaw Tooth. Love hearing the train going over the diamonds. Have a nice day 😊🌈👍👍👍👍
🎉😂Keep up the good work Jawtooh !!!!!!
It is really awesome to see two Conrail hoppers coupled next to each other. I had the privilege of seeing that in person this past weekend.
Hi JT very nice trains 🚂 today and for you may you have a nice day too ❤❤❤
Again JT awesome video and watching enjoying and enjoy the side show too 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😃😎♥️ AWESOME VIDEO Jaw Tooth ❤
Thanks 👍
Great video Jawtooth. Lots of cool trains. 👍❤️
Great day for watching trains
The only local lines that are still being used here are mostly CSX and some B&O. Mostly hauling coal with some freight. The local lines run through narrow valleys and "hollers". When they blow their horns, it can echo for miles. The coal here is fed mostly into the Mt. Storm power plant. And you can see some odd old crossings that had to work with the local terrain.
B&O was absorbed into CSX in 1986.😮
B&O was part of Chessie Systems before that.
That was one of the longest trains you've videoed JT! Great work right there!
260 wagon not including Power Units. Fell asleep a couple of times , hypnotic effect. Had to start over a number or times. Got there in the end.😅 Hate to be an Emergency Vehicle stuck there having to wait
Quite the activity on this shoot. Thanks for the outstanding video.
😎 Cool J T, 103 coal cars & 2 engines... Love it😊
Thanks 🤗
Super train watching place. Thanks for taking us there.
Thank You Jaw Tooth 😊 great trains and great Pets!!❤
Just came here to say that your videos are great. I had two great uncles who were railroad employees--one worked for GM&O/IL Central ( and won a contest for coming up with a safety slogan!)
Awesome coal trains and autorack train and mixed freight trains JT!!!
Thank you very much!
@@JawTooth You're welcome!!
I love when they go over the diamond the sound it makes is cool
Outstanding video JT super cool spot.
Thanks for showing interior of station! Built to last! Good to see!
Nice Coverage
🌷👌🇮🇳👌🌷
That Norfolk Southern Intermodal with the foreign power was cool.
Marion used to be junction of the Erie- Lackawanna, New York Central, B&O & N&W, with a major EL yard and engine facility just west of the crossings. Great video, son.
My wife's great grandfather drove a K5a Pacific for the Erie RR, then a FA for the Erie and EL. Her great grandmother worked in the steam shovel plant right next door.
Really stellar video today, lots of trains there. The puppy is getting so big, I love watching him play with Chessie and Brandy - happy they bonded. Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
Thank you for your video. You are doing a fine job... in Marion, Ohio. With diamonds. RT sends, Puebla, México. We are in a heat wave here. Most are blaming it on El Niño... but, the kid isn't responsible... just the heat. Huh? I am delirious from the heat. I bought several Electrolyte beverages. My favorite is Guayaba flavored. That's my report for today. In space... no one can hear you scream.
thanks for your report today! Yesterday I was in Northern Indiana. The temps were slightly below normal but I had to drink a few energy drinks for all the driving. Guayaba sounds like it must taste good. Lol
@@FabianDiazTrainsTrucksNCars I don't know. I never thought about that. I kind of doubt it but I have no idea
What an awesome, awesome video JT. You just about had it all. Back to back coal trains, a fairly long double stack, and the 2nd longest train I've ever seen in the mixed freight. That was so cool! I like those white auto racks with what look like windows. Puts me in the mind of a prison car. When it comes to maintaining diamonds do both
Do both rail companies share the
That coal looked like it had been crushed
The articulated autoracks are known as the Auto-Max. They have adjustable ramps on the inner decks to better accommodate SUV's.
hello jaw its is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks friends randy
Nice catch sir! Whenever I lived in Columbus I would go to marion and watch from the tower too. 😉👍🏻🎥💯
Man that was a long one! Almost 40 minutes of live action!
That was a five star video son!
Amazing videos Jaw tooth keep up the good work
Love the coal trains and the diamonds, a real treat! Intermodal was a long one and loud on the diamonds, followed by an even longer mixed manifest. Lots of action on this one. ❤
Good morning I enjoyed the video👍👍
Great Marion and the diamonds and the train station a few Conrail coal cars and auto racks great video thanks jaw tooth
Cool to still see those Conrail gondolas.
Thank you for another splendid video from your 17 May 2023 trip to Marion, Ohio. It was nice to see the two coal trains on this video. That was another long auto rack train. Could you tell whether the Auto racks were loaded or empty?
Love the UP locomotive and this location. Seems like it's one of your favorites too. The sound of trains going over the diamond is mesmerizing.
Love those coal trains. Ohio has 88 counties. Indiana has 92 Excellent video
BUENAS TARDES JAW,MUY BUENOS VUESTROS TRENES COMO SIEMPRE,GRACIAS.😊😊😊😊
Maybe the yelling kid was related to the railroad employee that didn't want you filming him.😂😢😂
Hey, great place for videography. Good job, JT. Any idea how long that last train was?
Too long 😪..too much coal
AMAZING 👏
thanks for sharing budie I enjoyed this week's video s 😀 😊
Another great video JT
Another great video--Thank! BTW Memorial Tomb of 29th U.S. President Warren G. Harding is in Marian, Ohio
Awesome live action
Wow that csx train had a bunch of articulated auto racks
Hey JT this was one AWESOME video I really like that train station, the inside brought back so many great memories. Thanks👍👍👍👍

@@JawTooth I always do, any chance of a shoo-fly update
That's the first time I've ever seen this location for railfanning what a great spot
Great videos Mr. Jawtooth......but wait there's more...of coarse there always is.
Love your videos. Watch them all the time. My birthday is coming up on 6/25, I’ll be 63 years old. Keep up the great work
I will give you a birthday shoutout. Thanks for watching
Love these diamond videos. That sound over the diamonds is satisfying. Also, fun fact: due to safety regulations, coal burning power plants have MORE loose radioactivity than nuclear power plants.
What is "loose radioactivity"?
@@saddletramp1860 radioactivity detected in open areas (hallways, offices, boiler area, and other work areas)
Great video Jaw tooth amazing catches want to eventually visit Marion Ohio keep up the great content your friend Anthony.
Looking for Shoestring on one of those passing Grainers 😂…….Never a dull Railfan experience at Marion
I watch all your videos from New Hampshire
Thanks for watching my videos!
Yeah, I said it once and I'll say it again...
You look a lot like Junior Brown.
He and the lovely Mrs Brown did a show here in Houston at the Heights Theater.
Great show too.
He did that Lipton Tea commercial some years back with the suit, cowboy hat and double-neck guit-steel guitar.
😎😎
Great video thanks. Chris from England
Sometimes I don't know what it is that makes you videos great Jaw,the great train action you find or the theme music of your channel.ok both is the answer😊
👍👍👍👍👍 excellent!
Thanks for the shout out
Another great thing about Marion, is the variety of trains, back to back coal trains, good size stack and auto trains, and one huge manifest, and a cool tower to watch it all. Another great job JT, keep it up son.👍🏼🚂🤩 sure would’ve been cool sitting in that school bus too.
The AutoTrain is the best
Jaw tooth is awesome video of trains and im a trains lover
Chessie looked like a little human standing upright in the one video at the end.
Great catches and video jaw tooth
I know you have to edit your videos. You do fine work. I picked up that the light CSX engine 3273 shown after the autorack train lead by 3273 went across the diamonds. I guess they had to go out on the main to back up to connect to the autoracks. Must have needed to cross the diamonds to clear signals. The yard is not very big. That is my guess.
Hey Jaw Tooth the NS lines are North and South in Marion, OH and on the other side of the Depot is CSX's North and South CSX also has East and Wast.
Hoping to visit these tracks soon!
Thumbs up. Like # 123. I have watched your channel for many years (under various accounts) since I found you watching Millennium Force. Thanks for all the great content.
I like that caboose there at the station.
For history bluffs Marion was the hometown and final resting place of Pres. Harding. My GG grandmother was a Harding and distant cousin.
Impressive video, lots of action 😊😎👌👍!
Thanks 👍
I do believe that last train was the longest I've ever seen! 260+ cars, had to be over 2 miles long! Keep up the good work, brother, and thank you for what you do!
WWWWOOOUUUU QUE LARGO EL TREN DE LOS CONTENEDORES.
Nicely done brian
Woooh now that’s rail roading! Yippy Kai Yao mother Norfolk southern.
JT, you really need a windsock since you're shooting in the Ohio hurricane alley. 😅
Hi jawtooth
i liked the SDs, molten sulphur and all the hot asphalt tanks. and watch out for that hydrofluoric acid!
Love them coal drags!
We were just up there a few weeks ago, but we weren't able to catch the museum or the train club. We did see 3 trains while we were there, though, and then got the bologna sandwich in Waldo.
And jaw tooth and that's a big population also Cole train ❤😊
Always enjoy you videos. Have you used or thought about adding a drone?
Eventually but I have some internet issues to work out. I may have to locate in a different studio because in the country our services are poor at best. Once I get those issues solved I can think about a drone
Excellent video as usual JT! Does the new puppy have a name yet? I don't recall hearing one in any previous videos.
Yes I have named him Loki. Short for locomotive
Loki, also the Norse God of Mischief and Thor’s brother.
Great video hey Jaw Tooth when will see the trains in Flemington N.J and are you going to steam train museum in P.A there lots there
244 cars 3 engine total of 267 is that the longest train I have seen on your channel thank you hope to meet one day
I counted 264 cars. Longest I’ve seen on JawTooth.
Fantastic video!👌👌
On BNSF by me, the eastbound coal trains have multiple units in front pulling, and usually one at the rear (DPS) also for the westbound empty return trip.
Very nice video! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Man that’s a lot of Coal Son!
