Maynard has made me happy with his bands over the years, Maynard is now in his 50s. Maynard is now making wine and that makes him happy So whats the problem? he put in the hard work to make us happy, so why are we not happy for him now he wants to retire? Lets cut the man some slack here. Its very selfish to actually be mad at him for this. I support it, think its something to look up to. hes always just done what hes wanted with zero fucks given and its always been a success.
what I mean is he seems to want to retire ( I did say want and not is) from his Tool days when he was a young adult. It seems he wants to be respected for his wines and Puscifer now, and good on him.
Nominie heart I see what you mean. I have been a long time fan of JMK and respect all of his work. I have been to Jerome a dozen times when I lived in Phoenix and Scottsdale AZ. I see why he loves that area, its great that he seems excited about his wine.
THANKS! Finally someone that gets the point! The man provide us with music , humour and wine... How can we possibly be so selfish to want more ? Tool is an art expression , not a fucking factory. And just for those so focused in the stereotype frontman-singer , Maynard is a MEMBER of Tool , not the whole band..
" I lived in LA for a while and that really wasn't my cup of tea." Juxtaposed with... "...HOPELESS FUCKING HOLE WE CALL LA THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IT IS TO FLUSH IT ALL AWAY!"
A lot of music fans have a huge sense of entitlement. I love the work that Maynard put out as a musician, but the fact remains that he his a sentient human being with his own needs, goals, and desires. He gave us all some beautiful, enlightening art to enjoy and learn from. Now he's decided to settle down and make wine, and you know what? More power to him. He should do what makes him happy; he doesn't exist solely to create music for us to enjoy.
Back in May my Dad lost his battle with cancer. Mom and Dad were living in AZ so I was out for his funeral and help my elderly Mom get back on her feet again. Well, during a visit to Sedona I realized I was not far at all away from Jerome, so we went and I got to taste his wines at the tasting room. What an awesome little town, and nice tasting room too. The staff were very friendly and although I couldn't mail any wine home, I got a bunch of shirts for my family. Keep up the good work MJK!
Wow. I would love to sit and have a bottle of wine with this guy. Such a brilliant lyricist and passionate singer. I bet an evening of drinking with him would be something to never forget.
I so admire anyone in the music industry, putting out the type of music he and Tool put out, while being able to have the normal life and pursue other interests. It's smart. It's balance. This guy's got it figured out, best of both worlds. It irritates me when anyone criticizes a musician in this genre for doing something like this. You have to be strung out, hit bottom and follow those before you off a cliff in order to be 'real'? Hell no. Hats off to Maynard and his pursuits.
He's a smart dude...he knows the music thing was a shot in the dark and he was extremely fortunate to make lucrative living from it. This vineyard and boutique is his solace...his serenity. Smart man...God bless him.
@@Syncopated_ a lot of vineyard owners don't like it when the big cameras and vans come to their spot because they like the location of their vineyards private
These wines are exceptional. Awesome he called the one merkin. The caduceus name is much more of a philanthropic gesture I think however -- bravo Maynard for choosing it -- hopefully people will learn more about it, what it is, and how it has been and is being used.
i think this is the fourth version of him getting interviewed about his vineyard i've seen, explaining and talking about the same things, and i love how it says "ONLY ON FOX"
Whenever anyone asks me that old chestnut about a fantasy wishlist of who I would like to have over for dinner, Maynard always makes the list. I think he would be fascinating to talk to and hear his opinions.
well, Ill say it because I never thought I would; "That was a pretty good interview for Maynard James Keenan on Fox News." Aaahahaha, Fox News! Seriously though, pretty good interv-aahaahaah!
@robotcow28 So am I. He really deserves it. He is one of the most real artists out there, saying "Fuck the industry, I'll make what I want and do what I love"
When he was promoting the wine at Whole Foods, there were a thousand people there, but so few of them were wine drinkers. I'm sure the signed bottles have been on Ebay.
@ryonafan Yes, they have been jamming abit, so they will definately make a new album, they usually take 3-5 years break in between. Probably will be their last album tho.
Yeah sure it's upsetting to hear that a singer of a band you love so dearly may be focussing on other things than presenting music for you to enjoy, but he's got to do what he enjoys. Simple. He's entitled to that. Thanks Maynard for everything, best of luck in your passions.
@alessi08 As far as i know it's only being sold through Whole foods in the US. Last year he was sighning bottles in Boston Mass at a Whole Foods store.
It's crazy when you realize that this guy was in the Army from back in the day, AND went to Westpoint... This dude has done some pretty heavy shit throughout his life. That'll be a story to tell.
Agreed. A lot of people say he's sold out. I don't think this is a sell-out because he's not just throwing his name on it and making money, he's actually working really hard. If he starts a reality show on MTV...well, let's just hope it doesn't come to that.
He's just finding something whole and real in his life. being a rock star could become a dream world after a while and he's an intelligent man, and ex marine and someone who seems very aware of what he wants from life. I'd love to hook up with him randomly get to talking, then drink loads of his wine and play acoustic on a porch somewhere haha
@rockerfromhell32 They have a lot of songs that people expect to be played. They still mix up their set list, you can look at the set lists from all their concerts and see the differences.
@neurochris I know man, made my heart drop. Im just hopeful for one more album and one more tour from tool. Im pretty sure we will at least get that. Maybe some more APC according to a recent interview with MJK
"LA wasn't my cup of tea"
lol We noticed from Aenima.
"My body."
This body.
This body holding cheese.
Be a big wino. I enjoy Merlot.
Feeling hungover.
Cab-er-net is an infusion.
"not my cup of tea." understatement of the century.

BWC 12Minus3 I know I had to laugh my ass off on that one too!!!
James, thank you for the music, the inspirations, and the wine. You deserve to rest.
I want some! I love Maynard I've been listening to tool for yrs. I support anything he does!! Love your God and Earth

I made the pilgrimage to Jerome late summer as I drove cross country and stopped in. Fantastic work Maynard 🍷
Let us never forget:
"HIS NEME IS MEENERD JEEMS KEENAN AND HE'S A PRETTY MYSTEERIOUS MAN."
Awesome! Seen TOOL yesterday in Charlotte. Amazing concert.
Love the music. Not much of a drinker of wine. But hey do you brother.. Tool has one of the best drummers ever
The whole group has some of the best people of their instruments, and voice.
The commentator's latin is impeccable.
He's like fine wine, preserved with time!!
Oh Maynard no matter what you do you make it look awesome.... I want a bottle or 2 from your collection!

I just love the info. "Maynardo" lol. I actually saw him on tv before talking about his winery.
I just saw tool last night and it was awe inspiring!!!
If you ever learn to swim, you can find him down in Arizona Bay, drinking some tasty wine.
I like this comment quite a bit
this is great thanks for uploading this for me i was shocked at the end
Why does it look like they filmed half of this from a hidden camera?
Lmao

Maynard, I think we've all listened to Aenima! lol
This man has an amazing life.
I was there last weekend. Very friendly staff. The whole town is amazing. The Puscifer store is 1 street south up the stairs from the winery.
I don't think my body can take it much more 😔
How wise to know that
I love how He speaks SANGIOVESE , i am italian and love his half italian roots, this man is so creative and fucking hot in everything he does.
"Learn to Swim...See you down in Arizona Bay"...Touche' Maynard...

Living the life, fair play to him!!
Pity I don't like wine...He should start a micro brewery and make beer:-)
Good for him, found something else he's good at :O) hope the wine sells in western Canada. Have to look for it.
SANGIOVESE grapes !!!
so proud of it my dear Keenan !
🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
@jensonvaughan I'd love to try it myself, but it only ships to florida during certain months, and even then it very difficult to find.
He is growing vines on Arizona Bay.....

Saw Tool last night in St Louis, such an experience.
I was the first customer in that shop.......met Maynard too, or should I say I got blown off by Maynard. ha.
Maynard the man and he's doing what he actually loves, he doesn't have to appeal and cater to Tool or APC fans...the man loves making wine
@alessi08 As far as i know it's only being sold through Whole foods in the US. Last year he was sighning bottles in Boston Mass at a Whole Foods store.
My rock idol forever...much respect for the wine because it's very tasty. Moderation ladies & gentlemen...!!!!
It's crazy when you realize that this guy was in the Army from back in the day, AND went to Westpoint...
This dude has done some pretty heavy shit throughout his life. That'll be a story to tell.
Didn't go to west point. Moved to grand rapids and started texans
He makes his own alcohol. How is that not rock n roll?
I Love You MayNard, Hire Me, !!!!
He was just in Australia, wonder if he checked out our local vineyards in SA. Some good shit comes out of the Barossa..
Love how the low quality video gives the audio demonic whispers through the video ;P very Tool haha
Maynard please make one more Tool album :(
Be patient
It's here and it's the sh*t!!
Total respect for Maynard! Wine and acid music? Kind of fits I think...

Noooooo Maynard! You have to keep on making music! I will loose my mind if you are not making music! I NEEDS MAH TOOL!
To think it's actually Tori Amos who got him to wine, if I recall it was Silver Oak
Ten years later our guy still tours his butt off
"I lived in LA for a while, that wasn't really my cup of tea"
Never would have guessed...
Did anyone else find it hilarious that they played Vicarious in the beginning of a fox news report? Haha
dudes cool. Glad that he has a happy life and enjoys what he does.

I was not expecting this...
@neurochris I know man, made my heart drop. Im just hopeful for one more album and one more tour from tool. Im pretty sure we will at least get that. Maybe some more APC according to a recent interview with MJK
he seems so normal in this interview
0:55 the narrator mispronounces "caduceus"
lol, fox, lol
Maynard is the perfect man for me he's short, likes wine, and makes awesome music plus he has a beautiful seductive voice
@bredding1203 even if they don't tour, there probably will be albums.
He such a talented guy.
And still done Fear Inoculum. More to come also. Lol. Also that ending missed on A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer.
I want a bottle just not to drink it but to try and add to my tool collection or a shrine if you will ^_^
Cool. I've been to Jerome. It's an old mining town and has a cool sort of hippie vibe with a depressed economy. Good for Maynard.....
please where can we buy this wine in EU ??????
The way the narrator tried pronouncing “Caducous” lol
I live in arizona and my family has a ranch 30 min from Jerome. Cool place and my father and mother always drink his wine.
I wonder how much his wine is. It sounds expensive..
Hearing the news guy say Merkin Vineyards made me laugh.
I want to drink the TOOL brand wine! Fuck, I'm drunk right now! God bless the Reverend Maynard!
