I saw a man (not sure if he was alive or dead) taken out of the Tyne on the Quayside one night about 6 months ago. I remember being pretty stunned that some of the emergency services were laughing and joking during this, but I guess they just get used to it and it’s a normal day for them.
I saw a dead body floating bast the Copthorne hotel heading upstream around 2005, I was working in an office nearby at the time. The body was being followed by a policeman keeping an eye on it waiting for the divers I presume.
