These guys probably were getting ready to jump him since they were uncomfortable too close, which is why he maybe attacked them. I would have done the same as my trust severly goes down on officials. You get ganked by a mixpack either way. It's rare that you meet good people even outside the game irl. And they more than likely pretend to be friendly to gain his trust, they also cut off his possible route of escape.

I’m a pretty big hater, but getting that close to another player is asking for trouble!
