I skate dunks because they are very comfortable and always last a long time. However, I always try to prevent them (with a little bit of shoegu at the toebox) from getting holes in front. Like you said, I wouldn't spend much more than 200 on it either. On the other hand, dunks can withstand a lot more than other skateshoes and also look and feel even better. Greetings from Switzerland

I used to love Dunk Mids a lot, but sadly (or luckily?) they are not popular with the hypebeasts, so Nike basically never makes them any more. Speaking of big sports brand shoes, I think Tyshawn's next shoe will be out soon, so maybe you could take a look at the original Adidas Tyshawn.
I tried out the Tyshawns about a year ago but wasn’t a big fan just personally don’t like skating high top shoes.. down to give them another try when his new one drops!
I just travelled back in time from 2031. Now Nike only drop 1 pair of Dunks for each new colorwave. They literally drop em in the middle of an island and 100 contestant chosen randomly need to kill each others in a battle royale to win the shoes.
As a serious skater AND sneaker lover, I have my pairs of SBs that I’ll never skate. And then I’ve got my preferred pairs that never let me down that I buy over and over. My absolute favorite SB to skate in, are the blazers high or low. They last forever and got the perfect protection for Tre flips/kick flips/hard flips and all the other toe destroyers. I really wish people would let the skaters have their shoes, man. Hypebeasts ruin everything. That 50 front big out was cleaaan bro🔥

Literally every pair I owned growing up, are like 800+ now. It’s ridiculous lol. The prod 2s. Cheech and Chong’s. Clubber laings. Cappuccinos. Ice whites. I skated all them til my toes bled and now they’re all super limited and expensive asf! Pretty much every SB dunk, besides general release, gain value over time
Those poor SBs! Tho it was nice to them used as they were intended rather then put up on a shelf somewhere and never worn or just flipped to someone for a profit. Much respect.

It’s the shoe sliding on the grip tape when flipping your board that causes it to rip. Basically like rubbing your shoes on sand paper.. I’d say out of all sports you go through the most shoes skateboarding 🛹

Typically only skateboard shops do raffles.. Probably not a Footlocker or Zumies mall type store. If you're interested, find your local skate shop and ask if they ever host them!

i recently finished skating the michigan low dunks since i was lucky to pick them up at retail last winter. they didnt hold up that good imo, the toe box ripped very fast for me but i guess thats just the way i flick my kickflips. still very comfortable to skate in but i hoped they would last me longer. i skated them alot for maybe 2-3 weeks and the toebox has a hole where my toe sticks out but every other part is fine except for some lace rips
I want to use the lace protector on the bottom and top but I'm afraid Ollies and kickflips will rip them off lmao. Not the laces but the protector. Anyone know if they skate good while using the lace protector.
They will skate good using the protector but it’ll tear off either way.. you could always put some shoe goo over it before skating and that might save them for awhile

I managed to cop a pair of the sb dunk high tv signals for retail price at a shop without a raffle it's literally the only chance I'll ever have to get dunks at retail without a raffle so I'm skating the shit out of them lmao. Try in to figure out the best way to prolong it because I do full foot kickflips and it destroys shoes XD

I skated my Zoo York's absolutely too death. At the end my toes poked through the toe box.

All personal preference they are a very bulky shoe if your more used to a slim fit
