If you mean 'engineer', then what you are saying is totally untrue. You are subject to strict hours of service regulations which absolutely do not permit anything close to 24 x 7. If you are talking about management who are not responsible for actually moving the trains, you are a bit closer to being correct. However, it is a fascinating job. I've been doing it since college and I love it.
