Stayed there a few times, I stupidly left the safe door wide open, big money on display, went out all day, the staff told me as soon as I'd returned , needless to say a BIG tip for their honestly. Lovely people there.
Looks like a nice place to stay. Can't beat the price and you don't have to go out to eat. I'd like to know more about the TV schedule. I like to watch in the evenings. Especially English speaking news and entertainment. Thanks for showing us.
As much as I like traveling the Philippines, I'm afraid moment's of heartfelt honesty such as this are what divides the inhabitants of either country. Jeez I had over a $1000 stolen from my room whilst I slept on the island of Cebu (Philippines). The reception staff let themselves into my room, as I slept. Never experienced any type of wrongdoing in Thailand.
Rooms are ideal for those perpetrators of the noise that so many seem to be concerned about. The enthusiasm of the staff is at once charming and borderline heart-wrenching, as the place seems vacant during what should be a fairly busy time.
The owl shower curtain is a hoot. Fantastic. I,m not a drinker but grub looked OK and reasonably priced. Ideal rooms to take women back to, nothing too fancy.
I stayed on L1 prob 3yrs ago the same room as you went in B1 sat on that balcony having a beer and getting a Bj from my new friend lol, music across the road at the bars was ok and the location is very handy.
Another great review Daz. It really helps with all those places we've all walked by and thought "I wonder if it's any good?". Much more helpful than zooming-in on booking site photos that are usually inaccurate or outdated.
Hi Daz and Guys, I have stayed at Robins Nest many times and I am sat at the bar right now drinking a Latte. The Nest offers a good blend of value, service, quality and location for my tuppence's worth. Close enough to the action to be accessible but Soi Diana itself is quiet enough so you can close the double glazed patio doors and it all goes away.... and it doesn't need to be 3 am. And I always stay in the balcony rooms at the front. You could always stay in a rear facing room for an even quieter experience. The food is of a high quality with a decent menu. They promise that the normal 'excellent' Sunday roast buffet will be returning soon when Pattaya gets a bit busier. The new manager 'Mark' , a Londoner, has been very hospitable as well as all of the staff.
Robin's Nest used to be our regular due to good food and great service. It's looking even better now especially with the updated rooms. I think for location, price and facilities you can't beat it, although as I mentioned in your previous video, it can be noisy at night but if you come in at 3am you won't notice so much. Another great video 👍
I stayed at Areca Lodge about 5 or 6 time, one day I had a look at Robin Nest & check the rooms as they were a lot cheaper than Areca Lodge ..( NO POOL ) Booked a big room just like on your video with Balcony ( which was bigger than Areca Lodge ) good value & really not much street noise.Good to see they put a hand rail going up the stairs,as there was'nt one ,13yrs ago.
Great videos pt1 to pt3 on budget hotels very useful and the prices and locations are brilliant. I certainly will book into one of these or a hotel/condo with a pool. I live in Scotland i will book for one month the prices are so cheap. This gives me more spending money for having some fun. Please keep on maiking your videos.
Thank you so much for this review. I was here almost everyday to eat and watch American football but never asked to see a room. The food was well prepared and delicious. The wait staff, as you witnessed, is so friendly. I could see myself staying here. Especially during a huge UFC event weekend. The owners have every game and fighting event you could ever ask for.
Decent value for those on a budget and in a prime position next to LK Metro. However, it would be pretty noisy until about 4 a.m., and this would deter many people from staying there. Negotiating the steps to one's room, after a heavy drinking session, might also prove to be problematic.
Another great video Daz. I’m coming to Pattaya in March and am tempted to change hotels to this place. The rooms look great and the service exceptional.
I've eaten there many times , the staff are very polite & very helpful I might try the large room sometime , pit about all those cables , spoils the view from the balcony I like to chill on the balcony with a glass of red while the wife is watching the tv
Robins Nest: Most rooms seem to be big enough. The last room at least had a shower curtain. Those balconies had a nice view of electric wires and possibly night life when illuminated. Cost of meals were not very discernible . Now, for Soi Dianna hotels and bars. Please give at least 4 hotel reviews and show all bars of Go Go, beer etc of female and L. B. Give us your audience a great choice so we can have a GREAT time in Pataya.
It is all about location. I have eaten & drank in Robins Nest in 2019 & B4. Great value. I actually booked a weekly stay then but csnvcelled. Yes, it is a noisy location, but if LK metro is your thing...this place at this price is "The Bomb". Thanks for reminding me of this place, if the deal persists in June, I am game!
Wow, I happened to have many breakfasts at the Nest. As it's a sports bar now they've converted the regular tables in the middle to tall tables. But really cool to see. LK Renaissance just down the street.
yes great location . Not boutique but a reasonable room with space and a nice balcony . I'd say biggest downside is the noise level being so close to lk metro . Great room for short time !
Great choice, another good find. I love the fact that the rooms are large and clean, best of all tied to a nice restaurant and sports bar. EPL games are shown here, perfect. Go Man City!
Really good location and cost. Not much different to European shared hostel prices, but your own room at the action. Probably too close to the action for me personally, but it underlines the value in Pattaya right now. 👍
Great video…. I like that place I’m going to try to book one week see how I feel and Book it for longer if I like it.. I wanna come and check out some long-term condos maybe A little bit out of town… Willie stuck in Seattle…
Wealth on information Daz! Alot of the rooms near 3rd road are great for moving there in retirement. But these last 2 Hotels would not only be good for that same purpose with that price but also great location for holiday. Even paying the daily rate way cheaper than the likes of Flipper Lodge, etc. Keep up the great work!
I am a new subscriber to your channel Daz and I must say you are truly the man! What a wealth of information and the way you present your info and videos on the channel captivates the imagination and holds my interest. Because of your channel I hope to visit Thailand and since I will be a newbee I intend to follow your guidelines my friend . Hope to maybe meet up with you when I do. Keep the content coming especially on the how to and what to know when dealing with the social aspect of life there.
Interesting video, £10 a night splendid and the rooms look well clean and suitable. I would only want 2 weeks of Pattaya at most but this place would suit the long stayer with the extended visa, the type that escapes winter and spend 3 months in Thailand. Or the starting point for the ex pat moving to Pattaya for good he may need a few months to settle in.
Met one guy who even managed to get fully inclusive, that is including food. Amazing if that suits you, if you talk to the owner of some of these places they will do incredible deals, to keep your custom, would have to be on a monthly basis though!
Amazing video series. I am going to be re-watching both the budget and moderate range video series and taking notes on the names of the hotels. There are definitely some very nice places. The one thing that weird me out is the shower out in the open. I am accustomed to the shower/tub combo to contain the water. What happens to the rest of the bathroom when you shower? Doesn't the water get everywhere?
Right in the middle of everything. Rooms were great, but I did not see a kitchenette - no sink or faucet, no cook top - but it had a refrigerator, I think. Plenty of desk top space and shelves. In house restaurant. Close to all.
Thanks Daz, as always I enjoy your videos. I have asked for this place when I was shopping around in my second trip to Thailand. I was interested because it is over looking at 5150 club so you can checkout all those ladies. Price back then in 2018 was 600 Buht per day. Good location, but standard of living would be way below average. Surely, you can’t bring nice, upscale lady to this place. It is so cheap.
Great video. I would definitely take that 1st room with the balcony 👍 and Yes, perfect location. You are not near LK Metro You are Not close by you are RIGHT AT LK !
Hi Daz, I enjoy your videos, and with all your knowledge having lived in the region for a while, they are really really useful. I have enjoyed the 'budget Hotels' series, and you have presented many really useful reviews of various condos from top to bottom, both for shorter rentals and longer ones. I would also like to see if you can pick out some 3 to 4 star hotels which may offer a long stay discount. Hotels like Areca Lodge. Hotels which are comfy, with pools, and would be a good start to a longer stay. The sorts of Hotels where pre-pandemic the best price may have been around THB1200 p/n. I am guessing some such places may have some good deals now. Anyhow, enjoy most of what you do. Thanks.
I know the first room, Pattaya Parriah recommended it a long time a go in his visits Great place to stay near the action but noise is a issue , probably not now since it's less crowded
