  • First time using a coolant funnel to eliminate air pocket causing loss of cabin heat in a Nissan Frontier. We went from no in cab heat to 140 F at the dash vent. Lisle Spill-Free Funnel 24680.

i drained the old antifreeze took out the thermostat then refilled with distilled water and the radiator flush. i then let it run for 40 minutes. it got all that crap nice and loose. i then let my jeep cool off and drained out as much as gravity would allow. i then put a hose where the thermostat opening is and ran water for the next 15 minutes or so to completely flush out anything that might have been left behind. i then put in the new thermostat and filled the cooling system with zerex hoat 50/50. it took a while but if it's worth doing do it right the first time.

4:13 Notice how the color of the coolant changes.
The coolant inside the radiator was either different, or had contamination, and as the thermostat opened, the new coolant got mixed with the old coolant.
    Great video on the kit!

Vehicle had no heat for months due to air pocket. I was just trying to eliminate air pocket for friend. Color change was old coolant.
