I was going to say this but I didn't want her to say anything negative or snarky about her or her style. I started watching her channel about 3 years ago when my son was born. I love her style and she's just the sweetest. Found her through Kristen who used to date Scotty from the vlog squad. 😂
I think you hit the nail on the head about why this style of home decoration works. I think it shows someone who is INTERESTED in their life if that makes sense, like they curate and cherish their items and actually connect to them instead of just buying whatever their stylist says to in one go. it also makes it feel more attainable because it takes time and at least if I don't have the schmoney for her beautiful stuff at least I have time to go places and find meaningful pieces.
Yes! I whole heartedly agree with this sentiment! I try and only buy items that speak to me and I decorate with family heirlooms or special items. Even if something from west elm would be more aesthetic or cohesive..it just makes for a warmer more inviting place.
EXACTLY THIS! I hate when people just place empty vases or baskets they got from Home Sense or Target bc they see it in those basic youtube videos. Like put stuff in your home that you have a connection to, not just as a crap decoration
Re 7:01: Paige, _please_ consider helping us learn more about lighting placement! For example, I would never have thought of can lighting behind plants like you had in your Chicago apartment. My boxy rental needs depth, and you know the craft of pulling the eye around the room with good lighting. Thank you for considering 😍
the bbc actually has a really great design series and they have a whole video about lighting. just sharing because it’s my favorite lol! ruclips.net/video/lHk7yRu7_K4/видео.html
You know what I’d really love to see from you? A series where we as subscribers can send in tricky design issues we’re having to get your take. For example, I have a wall in my NYC apartment that is leaving me baffled. It’s a popcorn wall that is virtually impossible to hang anything on or paint or make look good in any way, and it’s in my entryway. I don’t really know what I should do with it and would love some tips or tricks from a master!
Ebay in Europe often works like your Craigslist (i guess). Here in Germany its called „ebay kleinanzeigen“ where everybody can post their stuff and you can either let them send it to you or pick it up by yourself. This is where you mostly find very affordable hidden gems
My dad used this on outside decking to protect it from the rain and it totally ruined the wood. It couldn't breathe and is now really sick-looking. Just a word of caution I guess.
i read an essay article about how the dinning room was becoming obsolete, specially here in suburban Australia. But i love a dinning space. When we moved into our place the dinning space fit a 4 seat table and the tv space was huge in the open concept part of the house, so I flipped it. now i have space for an 8 seater table and have a cosy two person tv noook. So much better, i love eating meals at a table rather than a counter or in front of a tv.
I love how these English homes incorporate color. It seems like a very tangible approach to styling a room. Just use what you have because what you like is YOUR unique style.
1. Love the art over her fireplace 2. her living room drapes 3. The 60s style resin table, a bit o’ whimsy 4. The upside vase of her flowers in the kitchen
Yes!!! I've seen this before and tried to remember who's house it was so I could send it your way! This is one of the best homes I've seen in a Loooong time. So good. Enjoy!
Laura Jackson did another home tour with the Sunday Times but there's so many things different even though they were released around the same time! I'm guessing the Sunday Times was filmed before covid and delayed but it would be cool to compare the two and see what she's changed and what's better worse etc.
The reason you see fireplaces in UK homes is that a lot of houses were built before indoor toilets were a thing, do a lot of them are converted bedrooms. One of my grandparents homes had two bathrooms, but they were both downstairs because there was no plumbing upstairs.
I’ve seen this a few times and love this house. I was stoked to see I had the same Nordic Knots checkered rug (mine is a runner in my kitchen) and it’s actually one of the cheaper rugs on the site, totally affordable but hard to clean if you have pets. Never thought I’d say my favorite part of someone house would be their kitchen cupboard but it was! I also have a swatch of her pink Farrow and Ball hallway on one of my walls to see if I want to get it.
Paige you can get rid of the rust on the chair tubes using lemon juice and salt. You rub the tube with a lemon and then use salt to remove the rust. It might not look exactly new but it will help it look a lot better. Learned this for my bike that unfortunately needs to stay outside in the rain. Great video, love a good review 🙂
I’m in the UK. EBay has changed over the last 10 years and is more like an Amazon storefront - lots of new stuff that will get posted. But I think because the UK is generally smaller and more densely populated, it is easier to find stuff at for collection. Overall. For things like plants, second hand lighting and vases etc etc etc, I’d say a lot of people here would go for FB marketplace over eBay (no selling fees for starters!!)
Love! Looking forward to those home tours!!! Eith all the mentions of Kate's home and style I'm really curious to see that one! 😁😁😁 And also really happy to see you moving forward in live and even going to France (?!), Building this channel and gearing its content, a glassware collab (I imagine thats whats up?),... You're awesome ❤️ *Quick edit; I bought a house recently and was thinking of sending you the 'before', and what I'm planning to do with it (I already have a plan with links to the furniture and also built it in The Sims 😅) Is that something you'd be interested in?
Me and my roomate also opted for drawers only in our kitchen. You can see everything and nothing gets pushed back! We didnt go for upper cabinets for the same reason our most used dishware is in open shelving
so glad you commented on lighting haha. i often think to myself "what would paige say" about my home cuz i love your taste! I wonder sometimes if i have too many different light fixtures but im going to take your comment as confirmation that my lights look just fine lol. theres only so much i can do with my rental anyway! maybe i'll send a pic for you to review sometime who knows. cant wait to see some followers' places -- i love seeing normie homes! lol
You should try some aluminum foil dipped in water on your rusted chrome chairs! Worked beautifully on some old rusted metal/chrome furniture legs I had --super easy and quick!
Thoughts on cork flooring in the kitchen🤔🤔🤔 i love it in my home (id give tour but then id have to clean) but i cant tell if it’s something youd hate or absolutely adore
*Large Dining Table and Kitchen Drawers* . My dining table is a trestle style, 80 x 30. My dining "area" is connected to the "chef/galley" kitchen. The previous owner had a small scale table in the space and it didn't feel *Grande*. I thrifted an eight light chandelier from the Re-store, added a ceiling medallion, and with the coordinated table linens, this space is a show stopper for me. If I were to design a kitchen, I would put in all drawers for the low base. Much more practical for folks aging in place.
11:40 there should be some kind of guide/resource (video ;) ) for home design that is beautiful and low maintenance!! I love beautiful things, less so constantly cleaning.
I remember thinking about you the first time I saw Laura's home tour 😂 Btw, do you watch How To Renovate A Chateau? I think you would love their style.
You can fix your cool dining chairs. Rust on chrome is soooo easy to clean up. Take a piece of tin foil, some diet Coke/Pepsi and scrub them with the tin foil coated it diet cola. Cleans it right up. Use diet so they don't get sticky.
I think it would be cool for your followers to submit newly moved in or empty apartments and you can give your input on how to decorate different rooms
Question: I would love to have real plants in my apartment, but my precious curious cat loves to eat all of my plants, or reach for them in a way that might have everything come crashing down. Are fake plants tacky? I have a few but they’re not prominent, though I’m not sure if it’s something I want to get into. What is a fun plant alternative to plants in the home? I have a tiny studio apartment. Thanks, friends!
Theres something like museum glue or putty. Its a clear gel that doesnt damage anything but keeps your things in place. Im sure a quick search will bring it up
I think in the UK it's similar to how it is in Germany, in that we have regular eBay and eBay Kleinanzeigen, which is the German equivalent to FB Marketplace, so lot's of local pickups when people move and such. So when Europeans say they got something locally off eBay, just go ahead and mentally translate that to FB Marketplace!
Anyone have advice on decorating a home with a super small budget? I’m buying a house and spending all my money on that with hardly any leftover to decorate. How can I find cool stylish stuff that isn’t super expensive? I don’t live in a big cool city so it’s hard to find good stuff thrifting.
Maybe, if you can, ask family if they have old wooden furniture crammed in a garage or something. All the furniture in my dining area and a bunch in the rest of my house is stuff my grandparents had 50+ years ago.
@@MissBagsy old people have the best stuff! That’s a good idea, I should look at estate sales too. I love Paige’s style but everything is so expensive!
Why only half the living room shown? Would have liked to see what kind of couch she had & the other side of room, especially since the room layout is like mine with a fire mantel in the middle. Otherwise, Thanks for the review!
My brother and I would get tequila shots once in a blue moon from my mom’s booze accesible cabinet 🤣 We were 11 and 9. Never did it to actually get drunk. We would see it as a secret mission hahaa
Whenever XO Macenna finishes renovating her cottage, you should review it! I’m very curious what you’d think about it. :)
God i love macenna and her style so much
honestly just discovered her the other day. Love her personality and her style.
I’ve been watching her renovate that house for a year and a half now!
I was going to say this but I didn't want her to say anything negative or snarky about her or her style. I started watching her channel about 3 years ago when my son was born. I love her style and she's just the sweetest. Found her through Kristen who used to date Scotty from the vlog squad. 😂

Yes! Cherish items for your own reasons, not because a magazine told you to ♥️
EXACTLY THIS! I hate when people just place empty vases or baskets they got from Home Sense or Target bc they see it in those basic youtube videos. Like put stuff in your home that you have a connection to, not just as a crap decoration

Yes please, I'd love a video on lighting placement
I second this

Hi! Can you check out Damon Dominique's Paris aparment. I think it's quite nice :,)

Yay, so pleased you liked it. Lucy Williams has another eclectic London home that's in House & Garden this month. You'd love that one too.
I love that house!! For your wood floors in a wet area you can use marine wood sealer - it’s used on boats.
My dad used this on outside decking to protect it from the rain and it totally ruined the wood. It couldn't breathe and is now really sick-looking. Just a word of caution I guess.
Another great video, Paige! Would you consider doing a video on how to style bookcases or small entry ways? I’d love your perspective!

Hi Paige! I think you’d really enjoy many of the homes features in the Nowness: In Residence series. Love your content ❤️🩹
Brigette Romanek’s home!
I'm surprised she hasn't done that yet. It would be a treat!
Paige can you make that excel document a google doc and share it with us so we can see it getting updated? I love all your store recommendations!!
The house is amazing and I love that kitchen. The drawers are life changing and so accessible!!

Paige PLEASE review Luke Edward Hall's Cotswolds cottage. It's kinda in the vein of Matilda's house but bolder and busier haha. Love your vids
Yes! Love their home. I wish she’d finish the Matilda goad series lol. Well reviewing it with us.

Very fun…surrounding yourself with joy…(good lighting)…style that inspires you is the best way to journey through this life. Brilliant 👏🌞

She literally has the best home. It’s unmatched
i LOVE the reviewing my subscribers home series - excited to see more of that!
Can't believe how quick I got to this video. Love your content, as always.
I’m so glad you reviewed this home it’s one of my favourites
Love it.
You should review Bryce Dallas Howards AD house tour, I am so curious if you like the all pink and green 80s RV vibe.
You should check out the modern house. It's a UK based real estate of designer led homes. They also had a RUclips series I believe in people's homes.
Yes! also their other company, Inigo, which specialises in interesting period homes
i loveeee Laura!
I painted my kitchen cabinets a mushroom color (Mothwing by Sherwin Williams) and it is so lovely!
Laura Jackson has such refined and individual taste, whether it's interiors or fashion!! Love it!
Would love to hear your take on Bryce Dallas Howard's home in the newest AD Open Door video!
She’s going to hate it.
yassss! I can't wait for the home tour series! love your videos!

I love watching you review the home more then I like watching the home review itself 😅
I remember thinking about you the first time I saw Laura's home tour 😂 Btw, do you watch How To Renovate A Chateau? I think you would love their style.
i mean this as the highest compliment possible - i really trust your taste
Your videos are addicting
I was waiting for this video for months, and I am not disappointed 👌
I love her so much! Can't wait for this video :)
Paige! Have you reviewed David Harbour's AD tour of his NY place? Would be interested to hear your takes.
good luck moving out! please do us a video of how are you decorating your new place plsss
you should watch any of Damon Dominque's paris apartment videos
Please do David Harbour AD
OMG I asked you to review her house - thanks! :)
Her kitchen 🧡🧡🧡
Those chairs really do get around. My mum has a set in our dining room
Thanks for sharing this❤
Ps... Can you seal the terracotta tiles? It would be easier to clean.... 🤗

Glassette is amazing! But unfortunately they don't ship to the US yet.
Love her home. The kitchen is perfect. I, too, just put "stuff" on my mantle.
wait wait wait no - THIS is the crossover i've been waiting for
You really need to review Bryce Dallas Howard's AD home tour. I actually think you might appreciate it.
Please let me know what you think of Sienna Miller’s home on AD, Paige.
When is Paige’s lighting series coming???
I think it would be cool for your followers to submit newly moved in or empty apartments and you can give your input on how to decorate different rooms
What kind of lights do you recommend again? I have recessed lighting in my kitchen and want to replace the bulbs

I agree with the interrogation office comment!! The home is so lovely thou
If we submitted a video for review subscriber's home before and it wasn't picked, should we resubmit?
yes!
unrelated to the video but paige you are absolutely stunning. what a beauty!
Yessss. Step into my office, baby! :)
Finding Glassette was the worst/best thing I could’ve ever done. I want everything!
I'm here for that Belle and Sebastian shout out! Lol
I don’t know if it’s an American thing or a Paige thing but I love the hard, sharp way you say ART.
Was the Gwineth Paltrow's review removed? 🤔
Love your channel xo
Uhggg, you are so cute to watch!! Love seeing your brain dissecting spaces in a respectful, constructive way

What song was that that you loved so much?!
You should review Lucy William’s home!
I could move directly into this house and be perfectly happy for the rest of my life.
I was just about to paint my kitchen that mushroom color 👀👀

would that kitchen be super cold no?
“The cool home “ It could be a thing, where you never have to buy another apartment. You can just go from home to home. 😉
Paige!! Take a look at Lucinda Chambers home on House and Garden channel - omg, you will enjoy. It's delicious.

Her KITCHEN. Love it
I love it so much.. that kitchen is unreal.
Laura Jackson's home tour from The Sunday Times Style channel is a bit better.
we need to talk about Kate's book collection!
Omg have you seen the new Trixie Motel episode? The terrazzo is tragic 😭😭😭
"Stop! I already like it"😅😆
I wish all English houses were that big I’m stuck in a terrace 2 bedroom ! X
