    It worked on my 5 year old car. 30 mins after cleaning there was this crisp cold air coming out of the vents, compared to a humid one before. Wasn't as cold as a bnew car, but feeling that crisp cold air again is satisfactory, especially on a sunny noon here in the Philippines. Used 2 cans as suggested. Many thanks!

    Thanks for the video! So it's better to spray the blower than a A/C Grill?
    I've done this in my car with only 1/4 can, but no liquid comes out under my car, is it because it's only a 1/4 can?

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  2 года назад +6

      Yes. The proper way is to spray it on the blower motor because that blower will push the cleaner to the evaporator. Once the cleaner penetrates, it will slowly unclog the cooling fins and make it passable and clean. Spraying on the vents is optional but it can help because that can reach some areas that the other side can't.
      I think yes, it might be. When cleaning, be sure to empty the can so you can fully utilize the cleaning solution.

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  2 года назад

      Yes. Those leaves and other debris get stuck on the cabin filter. This happens when you turn off the recirculation mode of your climate control.
      Make sure the area is clean, so that there will be no leaves or dirt that will get saturated by the solution which can cause more filthy effect on the A/C.

      On some vehicles you have no filter, in which case all that crap gets jammed between the evaporator and your blower fan, and in front of the fan, so you have to remove that fan and slowly carve all that crud out of there, like on a ford ranger for example

      You can do it just like how I did in the video. You can skip the process where I put some into the aircon vents.
      Put some rag underneath the dashboard and center console. Especially under the blower motor and evaporator.
      Close all aircon vents. If not applicable, cover it with a rag.
      Simply locate the place where the cabin filter is inserted.
      Remove the filter and grab your aircon cleaning solution and aim it into the fan blower.
      Turn on the Blower in max speed. Then, you can start spraying.
      Be sure to spray in on an interval. Don't spray continuously, otherwise you might flood the blower motor.
      Once you empty the can, turn on the A/C switch and let the evaporator rinse.
      Then, after rinsing, turn off the A/C and let the blower run to dry off the evaporator for 15-30 mins.

    After using the cleaner the smell still remains any ideas or tips?

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  3 года назад +1

      Based on my experience with the cleaner, it produced unpleasant smell after a few days. I waited for a week and kept on using the air conditioner on a daily basis, the smell lessens until it is gone. It seems like the smell of the cleaner mixed with the dirt inside the evaporator or the foams or cushions between the aircon duct and cabin seems to absorbed some of the cleaner, making the foam wet. Therefore, it produces smell which eventually will be gone once it dries out.
      If the case is different like your aircon blows the same smell after cleaning it with a cleaner, then I hope these tips will help you.
      First, make sure that your cars interior is clean especially in the passenger area. Be sure to remove any kind of air fresheners. Behind the glovebox, make sure that there are no dirt or stains that produces bad smell because this is where the blower motor sucks air if the recirculation mode is activated. If it is not activated, then check the wiper cowl on the passenger side. Make sure to clean every vents that you can see because this is where it sucks air. Most of the time it is clogged with leaves, dirt and debris so be sure to check it and thoroughly clean the area. After that, you can try changing the cabin filter and clean the blower motor. If the smell still remains, then there are two options that you can do. You can try it again with a cleaner or take it to an aircon shop for a thorough cleaning. If the interior is clean and all of the filter, cabin blower area are already been checked and there is nothing that you can smell except the air that comes out from the A/C system, then probably the evaporator is quite dirty to the extent where the cleaner cannot penetrate and remove the dirt inside. It needs to be serviced for thorough cleaning.

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  11 месяцев назад +2

      For the Yukon, I don't think it would be effective to do that since the evaporator is place not on the middle, but on the left portion of the passenger side. Just try to get access to the blower motor because that is where the most effective place to begin with. In my video, it happens that I put some into the aircon vents because this Mazda 2 has an evaporator that is near to the center part of the dashboard.

      @DraftProject  Год назад +1

      Try to check the cabin filter if it is wet or dirty. Then check the surroundings of the A/C cabin and interior for any smells. Look for any leaks inside the vehicle. If everything is good, this could be the evaporator.
      If you are using the non-recirculation mode, check for dirt or anything damp on the vents of wiper cowel.
      Does the car has any history of A/C cleaning service? If not, then I would recommend taking it to a shop that specializes in cleaning A/C without dismantling every parts.
      Considering that your aircon has musty airflow, I would not recommend to use the cleaner on the video. In my experience, that can cause the smell to worsen.
      If you ever wanted to try this cleaning solution on the video, I would advice to rinse the evaporator by letting the A/C on for 30-40 minutes after the cleaning procedure. Letting the A/C on generates moisture on the evaporator, causing it to become wet while rinsing all of the cleaning solution.

    the coil take the HIGH pressure liquid (Freon) from the compressor and the change over from HIGH pressure to low pressure happens at the metering device at the coil which is how you get cold air. The low pressure is now a vapor nd returns to the compressor to start the cycle over again.

      @@MrJohnnyDistortion Yeah but there are instances where it could be a factor since it depends on the amount of freon on each cycle.
      DrakoKamikaze8823 suggested a bad cooling fan, it could be a factor too.
      Another thing I would suggest is to try setting your climate control to its max setting. If you turn it quarter or half cold, that could sometime result a dull or warm air when not moving because A/C cabin system nowadays are operated by a flap inside the cabin. When the setting is half or quarter, the flap is not fully closed so the heat from the heater core gets into the whole cabin.
      Another one is to have a specialist check the system. Problems in the aircon system can be tricky too since they kinda share similar symptoms over different parts.

      Yes. There could be molds in your evaporator due to years of moisture and condensation in the system. The blower will blow air into the evaporator, pushing its way into the aircon vents including all the odor inside.
