1JZ 240SX Daily Skid Build | MISFIRE? Time to FIX IT! Samsquanch saves the day!

- In todays video we attack the Misfire on the 1JZ vvti we swapped re-shelled from More Skids drift car has been driving us nut for weeks! We've made half-hearted attempts to find the problem, but today we're coming after it from every angle we know of.
You see: The only thing we couldn't really test or fix ourselves is the igniter, and we have one on the way. If we check everything else before it arrives, we'll have a pretty good idea that the igniter is part of the problem.
Here's what we do:
Get pictures of the coilpack and spark plug wires for reference
Pull all of the coil packs
Pull all plugs and inspect (#4 was clearly not firing)
Clean up oily plugs (not on film)
Do a compression check on all cylinders (~5% variance at 170-180psi)
Test the coil packs and plugs at cylinder #3 and 4 (passed)
Check coil pack wiring for problems
Check plug wires for problems
Clean up the mess of oil and pine needles around the plugs (not on film)
Inspect plug wires for cracks and other obvious problems
Inspect coil packs for cracks
Put it all back together carefully making sure connections are solid
Attempt to start and feel great (but expected) disappointment
Try adding starting fluid at idle (not on film - seemed to make a difference)
Begin to suspect injector problems
Double-check wiring sequence of injectors
Pull all injectors at idle to see if idle changes (confirm injectors are working)
Disabling all injectors except #4 degraded idle confirming #4 misfire
Inspected the wiring on #4
Noted that #4 wiring connector is damaged at plug and injector
Swapped the adapter wiring between cylinder #4 and #5 fixed it!!!
We spent a few hours start to finish and the bullets above are a pretty good indication of how things went down. Not all of it is on film, and to be honest, it would have been pretty boring anyway.

I have a mustang that sat a few years needing work. When I finally fixed it the first day ripping around the heat core blew really a bummer hahaha can’t wait to see it rip man!!

Easy heater core. Try a 2015 Silverado..... Never do I want to touch one of those again. Glad to see it's running again as it's supposed to. Love the jz noises.
sounds like igniter or igniter timing for sure,
you can do heatercore swap without pulling dash, just need to pull gas pedal and then you can access side cover to heatcore box, then you can remove pipes and core will slide right out.
damn I did the same thing with my rb20, even switched to chevy ls coils because of a misfire. then noticed one injector came unplugged. Doh!

run the car in the dark, if the coil packs are cracked you will see a light show from it arcing to the block
