  • It's time to reach the most preserved ruins of the Incas. And the reason that this archaeological site of Machu Picchu is so preserved is simply because of its difficult-to-access location. Therefore, the citadel of Machu Picchu was abandoned without our knowledge until 1902 when it was discovered under a lot of vegetation.
To get to Machu Picchu, I took a van that leaves Cusco to a hydroelectric plant that is just a 3-hour trail to Aguas Calientes. A village at the foot of Machu Picchu mountain.
The next day I took a bus to the incredible archaeological site of Machu Picchu. After a few minutes I climbed another mountain that is very close to Machu Picchu and is called Huayna Picchu.
It was an hour and a half of intense climbing to the summit of Huayna Picchu, but the view paid for all that effort.
