@@manningreid8818 That’s actually not true. In Dead Space extraction the Marker used Lexine as an avatar despite her being alive and well. That game is still canon as far as I know, Dead Space Downfall is canon for sure as you find a recording from the movie in the remake too.
Also in new game plus if you get all the twelve marker fragments Issac's dialogue changes in the last 2 chapters, says stuff like "you don't understand the marker like I do" and "the marker saw who they really are it'll remember them" Creepy stuff
i thought i was trippin!!!!! he has quite a bit of new diaLogue. During the finaL boss fight he says “it showed me what to do!” or something Like that & is confident. it’s awesome
It's especially horrifying, because it's a full, subconscious change. He hates Unitoligy, but because of the Marker, he's in such a bad state that he's slowly changing.
While most older Dead Space fans already knew how screwed up Isaac became in the first game, stuff like this in the remake truly recontextualizes just how bad it truly was. It even helps put into a greater light just how strong willed Isaac became in Dead Space 2 where he constantly battled the false visions and even destroys them in a sense at the very end. The man was insane by the end of the first game but accepted it by the end of the second game and tried his best to make things right. He even did so once again in Dead Space 3 no matter how bad things got. Dude got tossed around and tricked by the Marker but never once truly gave into it and even if he did, nobody could ever blame him given the crap he's seen and dealt with yet he stayed strong
It kinda feels like your first playthrough is real and the second is just Issac going crazy and reliving everything on new game + while he drifts through space
Man it makes you wonder when Elizabeth cross went crazy. I wish we had some short stories surrounding cross, temple, and even Hammond. Also cross is such a sweetheart, I love her lol 😂. I mean you can tell she understands that Isaac went through the worst parts of the ship.
Cross would’ve most likely gone crazy at least during ch 10 (after mercer kills temple) but definitely by ch 11. Since this establishes that isaac sees cross as ‘nicole’, the next time you see her, cross wouldn’t see isaac, but ‘temple’ as when we deliver the marker back to aegis vii, cross talks about how she was trying to become whole with ‘temple’
After discovering this, I wondered what other secret audiologs or text that I missed after skimming them in NG+. The only thing for certain is the 2 dialogue somebody mentioned if people didn't pay attention to after getting all 12 marker relics.
The part where he yells at the hivemind after collecting all 12 marker pieces is acted so well. He sounds truly deranged. No RUclipsr has uploaded that part yet.

The marker can seemingly only use dead people as it's "avatars", so it would have been after Mercer killed Jacob.

She went crazy after Jacob was killed by Dr. Mercer since the market can only make the person hallucinate someone that is already dead.
