The 767 is truly one of the most comfortable twin aisle aircraft to fly on, with its 2-3-2 seating. Fairly quite too. Not too big, not too small. Perfect landing.
Flew from O’Hare to Berlin with stopover in Reykjavik. Didn’t realize Icelandair was a budget airline until afterwards. Service and punctuality were amazing. Would definitely fly again.
the cabin looks so good because its brand new, icelandair mostly run rather old plaines. but unlike many others they actually buy the planes, redo the cabin and keep them top notch
Your reviews are humorous, straightforward, show what we want to see, and I thought I'd skip some parts of this 22-minute video but I watched it in full - you managed to grab my attention. Awesome! Just subbed.
I don't know , among all flight reports , yours are the best for a reason. I alway enjoy them as I am an aviation addict . Please keep up with these , your work is just amazing
At the start of your video, I felt cold just watching those people get on the bus. That was one big economy cabin on the 767, still nice if there is two of you and you are able to have a set of the two seats. That 767 was a young 17 years old, not too bad, shame about the window. Very nice to have the IFE on the short hop. Great video as always.
Thank you! It was really cold in Iceland, I was happy to be back in "warm" England. The Eco Cabin seems huge due to the missing dividers. I really appreciate a IFE on every flight even if it takes only 30 min ;)
I'm from São Paulo, Brazil, the largest city in South America, and just the city district where I live is more populous than Iceland. An Icelander would be numbed by the city's population (12 million within the official city limits, and 21 million metro!). Just the East Side of São Paulo has 4 million people, which is almost the population of Norway. It also means that the city of São Paulo has more speakers of Portuguese than the entire country of Portugal, where the language originated.
Great uploads on your trip reports from a former avgeek globetrekker. Icelandair always had a nice product differentation when they flew out of Baltimore via 757s. Still looks great. Dont remember much of the terminal concessions transferring to luxemburg, but the present terminal looks modern, updated, well maintained and easy to navigate with adequate signage. That was a quick weekend trip from Louisville to Baltimore to Iceland onto Luxemburg and return over 20 years ago. Again great job on your trip reports.
Nice video! ;) I always thought Iceland air gives you some free snacks... anyways the cabin looks really nice! Did you count how many times you showed the same view of the cabin? haha ;) what some people might have thought about that xD
PlaneSpottingBerlin ✈ Aviation Videos Never ever I flew from Birmingham to Keflek then to Toronto Pearson airport and on a 5 hour flight they don't serve a hot meal or snacks as they just don't only free drinks in economy
I've watched almost every video you've made start to finish. I love your videos / videos like this Bc I'm an airplane geek. I'm going to be watching these on flights / pretty much anywhere I go when I have time.
State of the art flight review.I think that airports with so much cold, like Keflavik, should have passengers boarding through jet bridges and tell me guys was the way to the gate 15 minutes?Sounds so long. The plane looks so fresh. That wingview with this huge winglet was outstanding.Congrats.
Thank you Yannis, it was really cold and they definitely should use jet bridges! The cabin is only a view months old so every thing is fresh and clean.
I think that icelandair its a little bit incompentent they can go to latam or asia with new type of aircrafts (a330 or 787), new seating like fully-flat bed for business and better service like complete meals
Nice video David ! I've been watching your videos since last year, and now I'm thinking to videos like yours here in Brazil. Thanks for the vídeos. Bye !
I LOVE ICELANDAIR! I had a really good experience with them, when I travelled from Amsterdam to Boston in 2014! I would love to fly with them again! P.S. I love your channel! Awesome video! Keep on going! =D
I really recommend! :D I flew with their B757-200/300, awesome plane! Awesome crew! I had my seat before the engine, amazing wing view -and engine roar! Unfortunately I never flew the Hekla Aurora.... I highly recommend them on a long-haul flight! (Icelandair only has two B767's , so you had lots of luck! ;D But they ordered two more of them... The rest of the fleet contains 25 B757-200's and one B757-300... (Just a fun fact ;) )
Icelandair seems like a really classy and good airline. I haven't travelled on them yet, but I do have an inflight magazine from when my sister flew through to Copenhagen. I collect inflight magazines and the Icelandair IM is one of my favourites out of the ones I have. I love Icelandair's livery and fleet! Hekla Aurora is one of my favourite liveries. My one criticism is how the food is not free. Given Iceland's geographical position, the flight can be quite long and the fact they don't serve anything for a 5 or 6 hour flight is kind of ridiculous.
So I've used IcelandAir to fly from Munich to the Minneapolis 3 times now and have had 2 great experiences. I love the fact that you can take 2 checked bags for free, the good legroom and short stopover times with great connections. BUT last Summer I was in my own (a sixteen year old) flying over to Minneapolis again and they fucked up bad. For some reason the airspace over Iceland closed because of some Problem with the control Tower over there and WE had to circle over Scottland for a while. Once we ran out of fuel, WE had to fly to Bergen to figure out the problem and fuel up, but since every IcelandAir plane was effected there were more than one big Plane at this little auch, so it took a while for us to get back in the air. We couldn't leave the plane and had to sit there for hours with no free food. Since every plane was effected many other connecting flights also delayed, including mine. When we finaly got to Keflavik my flight was gone though for no apperent reason. they gave me Vouchers for a taxy and a Hotel in Rekjavik wich was nice, but since the flight to Minneapolis was full they put me in a flight to Boston wich then was also delayed by an hour, so I missed my flight from Boston to Minneapolis. There was noone at the IcelandAir counter for 5hours and I didn't reach anyone on their "Support" phonenumber. After taking to Delta employees and drinving Back and forth in that ugly Airport between two Terminals dir hours, there finaly were some IcelandAir people at their check in counter and they rebooked me. All worked out then and I finaly arrived in Minneapolis after a 36h Trip. The Boston Part kinda sucked, but it was nice to see downtown Rekjavik for Free.
What a horrible trip, I can feel you...had once the same problem with Air Mauritius and in the end I had more than 2 Days delay. Why did they rebooked you from the Minneapolis flight to the Boston one? it would made more sense to fly the on the next day than heading to a wrong direction.
Simply Aviation There would have been one to Minneapolis, but it was completely full. At least I didn't have to worry about my suitcase, since there still was room for luggage on the Minneapolis flight. I would have arrived in Minneapolis relativly fast, if the flight to Boston wasn't delayed but I also dont know why they put me on that one. An other passenger traveling from Munich to Minneapolis got rebooked over JFK, because I got the last Seat on the Boston flight. It realy makes you wonder what was going on inside those Icelandic heads 🤔
Try flying Economy on the 25+ year old 767s that American Airlines flies to Latin America and you'll change your mind. Dirty thin hard seats with worn upholstery that don't recline more than some 5º and don't have legroom, they have fin room for sardines in a can (and I'm a short man!). IFE consists of ceiling CRT monitors. Attendants never smile and behave like ferocious Rottweilers trained by the Gestapo. I flew on them GRU-DFW (10 hours!) and back and it was a nightmare!
For a 2-hour flight, you really wouldn't have time to watch a full-length movie. The legroom was superior, but a snack along with the complimentary drink would be appreciated.
20:09 that A319 has been replaced on the YYT-LHR and YHZ-LHR has been replaced with a 737 MAX 8. But because of the groundings. The routes have both been suspended.
Thanks for the nice clip! I like Icelandair and have flown Portland, OR to Reykjavik a couple of times on the 757, which doesn't look quite as nice as the 767. This May, however, Icelandair's economy fares are substantially more than British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Delta to London. We've opted for premium economy on Virgin, which is US $400 less than Icelandair's version of premium economy and offers much more!
After the economic crisis of 2008 and the eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull Volcano in 2010, the Icelandic government started heavily subsidising the tourist industry as a way to rebuild their economy. That's why you see a lot of tourist promotions on Icelandair and WOW Air. While this has been successful in rebuilding the Icelandic economy, the volume of tourists is putting a strain on the travel infrastructure to accommodate everyone.
I flew from Keflavik to Manchestr on 18/11/18 only because there wasnt a flight to Newcastle I would recommend Icelandair above all others. They couldnt do enough for me
The reason that WOW air check in was closed was that all flights to Europe indeed already departed at your time of arrival at Keflavik. At Keflavik the schedule is as follow. First WOW and Icelandair landing from USA and Canada. Then WOW flights to Europe depart. Then Icelandair same story and in the afternoon those flights return. WOW then departs to USA and Canada and Icelandair does the same. On most destinations the crew can do a return on the same plane. This means that both airlines save a lot on staff expenses as they don't have to pay hotels for the crew to rest. That's why they are very efficient and cheaper.... It's also the reason that Keflavik is very quiet most of the day. Only when flights arrive and depart it's very crowded as the do all on the same time of the day. On my flight at WOW from 300 passengers only 30-40 had Iceland as final destination. All the others were transferring. That meant that the arrivals hall and luggage carrousel where very quiet when I arrived....
when i first went into the terminal ground floor, my first thought, oh, the airport was really small. went up to the second floor to go through security. wow, the departure area was really really big and nice. btw, i will fly icelandair again, can't beat its low price even though they don't serve meals.
Isn't a plane that has a 2-3-2 layout more for long haul trips? Seems like a big plane from Reykjavik to London. Or do they have a large number of passengers?
I have always heard good comments about Icelandic. I wonder though do they plan to update their aircraft. I would think the 757 would be replaced by now.
Great to see the ex Air New Zealand 767 being used
The 767 is truly one of the most comfortable twin aisle aircraft to fly on, with its 2-3-2 seating. Fairly quite too. Not too big, not too small. Perfect landing.
Some have 2-4-2 in economy
Flew from O’Hare to Berlin with stopover in Reykjavik. Didn’t realize Icelandair was a budget airline until afterwards. Service and punctuality were amazing. Would definitely fly again.
Thanks for uploading! The 767 is definitely one of Boeing's success stories!
this channel will going to became inspiration for many people ....this is how you travel enjoying and curious ...
Thank you very much, very glad to hear that. ;)
I flew with Icelandair, Halifax - Keflvaik - Gatwick and I must say the service from Icelandair is always truly exceptional.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! :D
Glad to hear that! ;)
haha, why is iceland green but greenland ice

because people wated to trick others by making that name

Grœnland translated to english is "Greenland" that's why it's called green but it's actually full of ice.
the cabin looks so good because its brand new, icelandair mostly run rather old plaines. but unlike many others they actually buy the planes, redo the cabin and keep them top notch
On a flight leaving iceland: "HEY HAVE YOU HEARD OF ICELAND? WANT TO GO THERE?"
me: *is about to go home from iceland*
the inflight entertainment system: H E Y HAVE YOU HEARD OF ICELAND??? 🗿💀💀
Ah yes , the negotiator

You're welcome, I'd say perfect timing.
Nice video! ;)
I always thought Iceland air gives you some free snacks... anyways the cabin looks really nice!
Did you count how many times you showed the same view of the cabin? haha ;) what some people might have thought about that xD
Sadly many airlines reduce the service onboard, but that's okay for me, if the offer hot food for purchase ;)
No I didn't count it yet.^^

Icelandair gives out free drinks on the planes. But food is at a very affordable price
Icelandair gives under 12 years free sandwich and drinks
It was very nostalgic watching you board the coach at the central bus terminal...I have been on them before when in Iceland and from that gate!
The cabin looks quite modern for a 767. Nice 👍🏿
Thanks for the share

This is probably the best tripreport of yours
Very nice report on the quiet and competent 767, rated one of the most comfortable jets to fly.
I think you mix up the 787 with the 767, the 767 is not really quiet and comfortable to fly on.
Try flying Economy on the 25+ year old 767s that American Airlines flies to Latin America and you'll change your mind. That's true (for N-Europe)..Sure we'll keep up with our work.
For a 2-hour flight, you really wouldn't have time to watch a full-length movie. The legroom was superior, but a snack along with the complimentary drink would be appreciated.
Yup. Rush hour at Keflavik is early morning and in the afternoon due to the shedule of icelandair flights....
20:09 that A319 has been replaced on the YYT-LHR and YHZ-LHR has been replaced with a 737 MAX 8. But because of the groundings. The routes have both been suspended.
Nice vid;) keep it up! Cant wait for the flight report with wow air

Wow, it certainly takes a lot of time for you to edit these. End of November posted in the end of January. Excellent video, though!
We have a bunch of flights on stock so we decided to make a good mixture of long and short haul videos and post different airlines.
Simply Aviation Nice!
12:40 For me, out of all countries having the best “Sponge Bobs”, it has to be Spain, with “Bob Esponja”
Althoung it is an old plane looks like a new 767-300.They must be take care good of it.Nice Tripreport
Icelandair bought it last year so the refitted with a complete new cabin.
LOL In Reykjavik it almost never snows. And, by the way, everythin the Icelandics do, they get perfect and amazing
I have always heard good comments about Icelandic. I wonder though do they plan to update their aircraft. I would think the 757 would be replaced by now.
