This is how he's playing it:
Capo on 1st Fret. Chords shown relative to capo.
First chord: X24430
Second chord: 577650 (he uses his thumb on the 6th string which makes it easier to keep the 1st string open)
Third chord: 022100, to 022200 for a beat then back to 022100
Pluck the bass note of each chord then pick/strum into them, listen for the pattern. What makes this version stand out is the 1st string is heard being played open the entire song, giving it a sort of haunting, chime-y sound. This means it is EXTREMELY important that your guitar is in tune, or you're going to come up to that second chord and the 1st and 2nd strings are going to make you hate life.
Rinse and repeat.

He is so perfectly perfectly on key, and he has a lot of feeling in his voice, not to mention that he can sing so baritone low and then his voice goes into a high falsetto...his voice is almost like a trumpet or french horn, in it's purity and tone.

Checked out his site. But where are the originals? It's awesome to reraange covers and he does an incredible job, but without your own music you either have to have one to find other peoples songs for you, like Luke Bryan or Katy Perry and so on, or write your own like Keith Urban (for the most part).
