Demilmp: It sounds to me like you are describing Virtual Reality. In AR, the virtual comes to us, inhabits our physical surroundings, enters our reality with digital overlays in real-time. With AR, we can bring the world to us anywhere and anytime, appearing in our space and environment as a highly personalized experience.

For someone who says she's using her imagination, I seriously feel she isn't.
Augmented reality is NOT about putting virtual elements onto a real world. It's about putting real elements onto a virtual world. If you think like her, that you are adding to the world, you are lacking in imagination. Augmented reality is about changing and modifying what you see in fun, clever, and useful ways.
An augmented world will become indispensable to everyday life, like how smart phones are becoming today.
