Hey Dominika and Andrei. Thank you for reacting to this masterpiece, especially given this was a non-monetary request. Kasey presented this as her life in song - as a journey. It starts with the soft plead of uncertainty highlighting a lack of confidence. Then the mood all changed to a cry of anguish and determination. Finally, after all the hard work comes tremendous acclamation and success. She lost herself and left her soul on stage, laid bare and battered. Unbelievable and brilliant. This was a deconstruction of Eminem's incredible artistry reassembled and made better.

Raw unadulterated Brilliance! I was totally blown away when I first “experienced” this Phenomenal performance, amazing arrangement & pure to the emotional interpretation of Em’s masterpiece - just legendary!!

She is aged 46 at the time of this performance 2022.
I’ve always been a fan of Kasey, she is a freakin amazing & talented musician, artist & woman.
This was next level genius & so personal for her. She has lived every second of this story’s soul through her own life’s journey.
The performance wasn’t filmed, she put a post out after the show to fans present to please send in any footage, the compilation of which you see.
The band killed it, matching & building with her energy brilliantly. Long time band member Brandon (I think 🤔) on guitar & the vocals that nurtured the momentum & her dad on slide guitar making it rise like a phoenix - all of them together made this one of the all time best live, for me a rebirth not a cover, that I’ve ever heard, seen & felt….to my core.

Another great reaction. So glad you've found our girl Kasey. I'm not a huge Country fan, or a huge Rap fan, but what Kasey does when she steps outside the box is always special.
A couple of things you might find interesting. That's her father Bill on he slide guitar.
And after they realised what a great performance this was, Kasey and the management asked all the people that were there, to send in any videos they took on their phones & cameras This whole film clip is made up of that footage. So cool.
I would never listen to Eminem, so this gave me the opportunity to hear his powerful lyrics and appreciate them - even though I do not appreciate rap. Kasey killed this.

Kasey killed it for me there’s three moments that make this so brilliant. The haunting start and you actually appreciate how great the lyrics actually are, then again when she harmonies with the guitarist. Then when the band kicks in and she tears
the muther fuckin roof off it, wow every time I hear this I get goosebumps.
She did an amazing job with this cover. Made it her own in a creative manner. I do believe Eminem has heard it and gave it his stamp of approval. Cheers!

His catalog was sold to Michael Jackson for 370 mil in 2007. Stop spreading dumb ass rumors trying to make your self look good.
I believe Eminem gave her permission to add this to the stream, and he isn't taking a percentage of her earnings for this track. It's the best cover ever of one of his songs (in my opinion). Great reaction. love you both xx

@@ianleslie2326 Bill Chambers, Kasey's father is sitting on the left side of the stage playing a slide guitar or a lap steel guitar - one or the other, as they are very similar instruments and often used interchangeably even though technically, they are different, but there is not "just an electric guitar". And since Bill Chambers is known as an excellent lap steel player, my guess is that is what he is playing. Either way, there is definitely a slide/steel guitar being played in this song. At 7:40 you can very clearly see his running a bar on the strings, wavering it back and forth to get that signature steel sound. There's also a keyboard player! - Which I find interesting for this arrangement!
Edit/Correction: The only difference in a steel guitar and a slide guitar is that the steel is played with a steel "bar" in hand and a slide guitar has the player fitting a slide over the finger and can be made of glass or many other materials, including steel. A slide can also be played standing whereas a steel is played sitting, hence the name lap steel guitar. So, in this case, Bill Chambers is definitely playing a lap steel (and killing it, I might add!) and you can see him lift it off his lap at the end of the song.

Kasey writes most of her own material and I think this arrangement was a collaboration with her brother Nash who is a music producer and manager. My favorite song of hers is ( Ain't no little girl ) written after her marriage break up, absolutely brilliant, you will love it. I prefer the Official music video, but live it is also great

I think the impact of this song is greater, simply because you have a new understanding of the lyrics.
So many artists and creators, in music and all other industries, can connect with the lyrics because most have gone through that. Trying to stay creative, bringing the art inside out and alive, all while trying to survive, pushing and preying for The Break. Em created an anthem we all feel, and how Kasey feels it comes through so clearly

Kasey is a famous Australian Country artist, inducted into our hall of fame. She has 20 odd albums to her name and, as you heard, puts her heart & soul into her singing, leaving it all on the stage. If you want to hear more of her, I'd recommend the following songs:
'The Captain' - This was one of the first songs she wrote as a solo artist, about those times when the world is just too much.
'Not Pretty Enough' - About the frustration from her album's success, but radio just wouldn't play her stuff.
'Aint No Little Girl' - (recommend the 'Underground Bluegrass' performance) About her reaction to some bloke stuffing her around.
'Nullarbor Song (Live) - About homesickness. Bring tissues.

Rapp and hip hop were not as big here in Australia as the US. We are more rock, pop and country.
So Kasey performed this for her own audience base. In my opinion, this is much better than Em's version because I can relate to it more. Awesome reaction guys :)
Took guts to do Emimen on a banjo.
She loved the song and when it was covid she come up with this version of the song. That was her dad on the slide guitar.
Saw her perform in 2006 here in Australia. She didn't sing 'Lose Yourself' though wish she had. Blows me away every time I see that video. 😯 Her concerts are a real family affair. Her father Bill, who can be seen in that performance, is sitting on stage with the lap steel guitar, her brother Nash does the mixing, and I can remember buying a t-shirt from her mother at the merchandise stand. 👍

Btw. There's no indication of Em ever hearing this version. I'm pretty sure he doesn't personally listen to every cover request sent to whoever owns the publishing rights, be it himself or some company. I'd love to see a source if there is one. Everyone keeps writing this on every reaction but nobody has provided any.

Kasey is a Skippy national treasure, and we don't want to share her...she is ours, and has a billion brilliant songs that all Australians adore. No one overseas knows her and that's just how we like it, every gig is sold out and she is adored in her home country, truly. Great that you got to experience our beloved Kasey but please don't make her too popular, we really want to go watch her weekend after weekend to keep our souls from disintegrating into commercial muck that is popular radio music. Aussies love our Kasey and we don't want to lose her to commercial American labels or the crap they pump out...she is ours and we protect her fiercely, coz we love her. X

Kasey love's Em, and she made it great again. Another song written by Kasey you may like is "aint no little girl" any version is good from the studio to the several live version's, I love them all, it's different than this one, but gutsy and great

Em's writing is insane. The second verse with the o vowel flows so beautifully in this slow version, one gets to really appreciate what rap music can do for singers. Shows that technical writing skills can enrich the emotions and feel of any kind of song.

This is the most emotional reaction to Kasey's performance that l have watched, watching the way this affected both of you was amazing. I would recommend that you now react to some her songs, she is a great Australian singer-songwriter of country music; having won numerous awards and accolades. "Not Pretty Enough" "The Captain" also her covers of Crowded House's "Better Be Home Soon" or Cyndi Lauper's "True Colours"
Kasey’s version of country is closer to the Appalachian and Bluegrass styles. Her cover of Dolly Parton’s Little Sparrow from about 20 odd years ago is also really special. If you like a sparse almost haunting style try something like Gillian Welch’s song Revelator.

This has been reacted too quite often in recent months. Kasey has had a long career beginning with her family's band in the 1980s. In those days her family spent half the year out in remote areas in Australia with her father Bill shooting rabbits and kangaroos and the rest of the year in a small fishing town. I taught Kasey and her brother Nash when they were teenagers.
