Not sure if you already knew,so gonna say it either way: the restless spirits lead to trinkets to pick up ( items worth gold). But from my experience, they can also lead to items you already picked up 😅
Stout from the future here: They work just like in dark souls. You keep them if you die and they can be used from the inventory to gain witchfire even at the homebase. My dumb self just hasn't realized this yet. 😂
