As someone who has been learning japanese on my own for a long time, without anyone around me speaking it or learning it, it was incredibly cool to see this and feel understood! lol The comments about 書 ending up always being too tall and about 買 being randomly difficult to make look good, even though it’s not complex, hit home in a very good way. And about certain kanji looking better than others and liking some and hating others… I find it so interesting and cool as a topic and I’ve never until now found people who do as well, tho I guess it’s normal to not care unless you’re interested enough to be studying it. I laughed and had a lot of fun watching this video and reading the comments 😊 Thanks!

It is highly amusing hearing a pure kanji view while mentally sorting it through the lens of traditional Mandarin characters (what I learned), definitely why silk worm and salt immediately went into 'saiaku' for me. That said, I refuse to decipher why excavate is my second favorite character in Mandarin despite easily being as ridiculous as salt or silkworm XD

Preposterous video! Placing 夢 in 悪い seemingly because of its popularity alone completely discounts the integrity of the list for me. It’s iconic look and cool meaning are certainly enough to land it in 良い at the very least, although I believe it easily deserves 最高. Overall quite disappointed. 😢
I also like 読む, too. Everytime I using RUclips in Japanese and I see the comment was too long, the button for "See more" always written "続きを読む". I also like another kanji that share the same radicals with 読む, like 言う, 誰, 語, 話し, and 続く.

@@SethRoganSeth it literally not a waste of time, its an investment. if you were to do 3 kanjis a day you would complete the whole course in 2 years which is nothing in a grand scheme of learning process. in 2 years you will start to climb intermediate level japanese and thats when the kanjis will come in handy. only 30 minutes a day for basically becoming chinese (lol) imo worth it
