Great video brother displaying all the curveballs. I love the clear and concise way you deliver your content man. All the tremendous work that Wushu Studios put in on this update and yet I am still excited too see some of what is in the files that hasnt come out yet.
Just to add onto the info: To turn off Curveballs goto Gameplay settings and about half-way down is the option to disable them. Starting a new map , community or even restarting the game might re-enable them currently, so always double check that it's off if you want them to stay off.
Good grief. I always play on Lethal these days, but I do think I will lower the difficulty if I am going to try this. I will probably lose a lot of survivors again, just like I did after Update 33.
Hey so the curveball well oilled machine does that have limitations of any means because with the new curveball update I can’t seem to get it on some maps and I thought it was my luck but now I’m realizing I’m not getting it anywhere with a probability of 14% and still going to different base’s. So is it base specific?
I’m hopping that we have throwing weapons one day in this game. Like tomahawks, throwing knifes etc. I also wish friendly enclaves were more alive. Can help u out with under a siege like how we help them every now and then. I was also praying they make ur friendly enclaves around the map level up as well over time. Like how you enlist a follower there fighting and shooting goes up as u take them on adventures and I can’t stand how they don’t regenerate health and cure them self with cures when they get infected but other then that this game is solid and can’t wIt for sod 3

Now that its out, something worth noting about the broken heart and black heart curveballs is that the affected plague heart will awaken if it was previously dormant. At least, this has been the case in my experience.
Took a break from the game for about 10 months or so. I wanted to get myself up to speed to the new updates, so my first place was definitely this channel. Thank you for all the hard work!!
When you mean we'll have a higher chance to find certain items in containers in the event area do you mean that the chance to find these specific items is higher, if the area hasn't been looted or will the loot respawn in the loot containers?

One of the events makes the plague heart sick? Hahaha. Oh sweet irony. Can't wait for this update but some events look so deadly is better to wait for them to pass in your base if you can allow it.
9-27-23 Just got black plague heart curveball on lethal difficulty. Way stronger than beta. Can not stealth to the mad lab rats ally because zombies have increased senses. Can not drive in black plague area because fuel consumption is immediate. The mad lab rats don’t have suppressed guns so every zombie arrives before you can hand them 5 black plague samples. You can’t stay in the black plague heart area without health constantly draining so you need a ton of meds. This is a very difficult curveball would love a video on completing the curveball the most efficient way. I beat it with a red talon operator of course but it seems impossible with a regular character. Also the rewards in the black plague heart were underwhelming for the effort tbh.
@StateofDecayScience yeah it really adds a lot. Although I can see it being a bit scary for new players. I had a curveball of the radio silence force me to have to take out a plague heart which because I couldn't use the disruptor, caused a nasty chain reaction which caused almost literally all hell to break loose. It was terrifying but fun. Lol
Thank you for the very thorough video. Strongly dislike this new update, so I'm glad it's going to be optional. What a waste of development time if you asked me.
Replayability is never a flaw for a solo game with a repetitive gameplay cycle. Everything that I saw in this video is balanced around existing mechanics, pushing previously weakly involved elements of the game (like radio towers) into the player's circle of interests. This is a very very smart job breathing new life into the game. I hope you would try it someday.
I will have to disagree. Everything in this update reeks of randomness to me, to add chaos all over the place where none was needed. I'm someone who believes in determinism, even in my video games. If one makes errors (missing a critical shot, for example), one should suffer the consequences. If one makes notable efforts and learns, taking the proper decisions and/or actions, one should reap the rewards. That makes an interesting story and gameplay in my book. As an example, I loved the previous update, introducing the new siege mechanics. Destroying plague hearts became a new strategical necessity, an endeavour worth investing time and planning out before execution. It made the game a new and more difficult experience, but also a more enjoyable one to me. This update seems like tossing a coin in the air instead, allowing it to decide what the "weather" will be over the next days. Plus, exploding zombies are... already in the game, with a sensible explanation for bloaters to exist, contrary to the "new ones". Hostile enclaves taking over outposts sounds good in theory, except that it is a simple dice roll which decides the event, not my skills as diplomat or my actions in game, outright ignoring the enclave for too long, for example. Finally, all "bad" events also have a positive counterpart if I understood correctly, which I don't need or want if they're randomly generated. I'm viscerally against everything that takes away player agency. I don't care about gacha-likes (or unearned "freebies", like the bounty broker). So yeah, instead of further enhancing the sieges, or trying to design proper interactions with other enclaves leading to sensible (non-random) outcomes worth exploring, we get coin flips. There is a distinct lack of inspiration in this update, and much better could have been done instead I'm sure. I'm glad some people (you included it seems) can enjoy it. I don't, but I'm fine as long as it remains optional.
@@KarmaPoweredthey could have easily just added them in as new mechanic for example the “under the weather” coin flip being instead a flu virus that affects your community if you lack medical resources for too long
