My hubby is applying for GDL at Univ of Law. I understand that we have to get an Exemption Certificate from Bar Standards Board. How do we go about it? Please help.
Hi Joythi! That’s amazing! Good for him! I am not sure if you mean an exemption from the GDL or something else. Please clarify exactly what he wants an exemption and then I can be of further help! 😊But In the meantime, below is the link for all applications regarding the various forms of exemption. Any exemption (except that of an English requirement) will require a submission of an application or If he has been in practice then an exam to transfer over, all handled by the BSB. This link covers both scenarios and has additional information : www.barstandardsboard.org.uk/training-qualification/barrister-training-waivers-and-exemptions.html.
