Raft Gameplay Information:
Raft throws you and your friends into an epic oceanic adventure! Alone or together, players battle to survive a perilous voyage across a vast sea! Gather debris, scavenge reefs and build your own floating home, but be wary of the man-eating sharks!
By yourself or with friends, your mission is to survive an epic oceanic adventure across
a perilous sea! Gather debris to survive, expand your raft and be wary of the dangers of
the ocean!
Trapped on a small raft with nothing but a hook made of old plastic, players awake on a vast,
blue ocean totally alone and with no land in sight! With a dry throat and an empty stomach,
survival will not be easy!
Raft throws you and your friends into an epic adventure out on the big open sea, with the
objective to stay alive, gather resources and build yourself a floating home worthy of
survival.
Resources are tough to come by at sea: Players will have to make sure to catch whatever debris floats by using their trusty hook and when possible, scavenge the reefs beneath the waves and the islands above.
However, thirst and hunger is not the only danger in the ocean… watch out for the man-
eating shark determined to end your voyage!

Your raft is straight now, it's time to rearrange the nets.
You missed a mango tree on the island.
You need 13 pieces of sand and clay to make a smelter. And you need a smelter to make ingots, turn them into bolts and make better hooks, spears, axes etc.
The way to re-orient your raft has always been in this game: you sail up to an island, run into it with one corner and use the wind or the paddle to turn the raft. Simple.
Stones are plentiful, you find them under water near the islands - usually more than 10 near small ones and over 20 near large ones. More than enough for a simple anchor (I use the large anchor ASAP, especially before sailing for big islands)
Early game yes use hitting islands or abandoned rafts to pivot raft. Later you get Steering Wheel / Rudder and that will allow you to pivot raft.
You could have picked up more sand and clay at the island before running away from the shark, you need a bunch for bricks.
Lol when you kill a shark after landing on an island, the only "staying focused" that matters is you collect everything in sight... don't open menus, be curious about different crafting things, etc... just grind out collecting ... it's a must lol
please ACTUALLY GET to the big islands this time
you always just build a big raft and never get to any of the new content in the game LOL

Pro tip: place walls early game so you can stack storage crates on top of each other. This frees up floor space, which is limited early game
Won't they be easy destroyed and everything stored there lost if the shark bites on the corner the wall is on?
@@stephaniemitchell8509 I think the wall will remain as long as one floor piece is touching it. But what I meant was place walls in the MIDDLE of the raft, and use those. Like, instead of placing one chest down in the middle of the raft, place a wall in that spot. Then you can stack 3 chests on that one wall

Bought the game today. Hopped on your lets play and had it running on my 2nd monitor, then went back and re-watched parts i didnt pay attention to whilst eating. Your voice, energy & the game itself..holy flippin' heck this beats most Netflix series right now xD Keep it up
you can kind of rotate your raft by paddling on one side of the raft or the other using shorelines a pivot point. they should introduce a "rudder" craftable to rotate the craft efficiently out in the open.
they have implementet a steering wheel that can rotate the raft as well as an engine that runs on biofule. but its not early game.

you can get a steering wheel now but i think you have to find the blueprint for it if i recall
Man this game is awesome
Once you get to the cruise ship, you will find the blue print for the steering wheel and engine which will allow you to turn your raft any direction. But I got to warn you. The metal spear sucks with the lurkers on the cruise ship. I use 2 metal arrows just so I can get them at a distance.
To kill Lurkers with spear you just run circles around them. Saves on those arrows.
@@robertmansfield7793 I was using a spear at first. I just suck with it. Besides you can retrieve your arrows backs from the lurker's bodys

Yes the steering wheel / rudder will allow you to pivot the raft

Dont think you can protekt the nets if i remember right. Shark after a while will attack all over the raft.
Add Armor foundations, basically a skin, to existing nets and foundations. Shark will not attack armor.
name your shark "bruce"....you find out why later. ;)
No you can pick up the nets so you don't have break out the plat forms
How can you skip from having nothing to suddenly having a grill and a purifier and a bigger raft. That's not a good way to show how you start up. Starting up is the most important part. The sequence of things you must do when you have almost nothing. The raft you suddenly have in the 4th minute seems like it has even been to an island or two.

if you have two sails pointed in the opposite direction on opposite ends of the raft, would there be physics to spin the raft? never tested that out.
Haven't played this since it first came out, i'll have to look into the changelog to see if i should give it another go. Is there a chance you might play this in multiplayer? I could see this working out quite fun with at least the missus.
Yes, this has multi-player. Kage has played this with Amber & Bloodstalker before. I don't think Mike joined them for that one but I could be remembering it wrong.

weston saathoff it depends. I have an old gaming laptop and sometimes my game crashes and I have 3-4 FPS. Whereas my fiancé had a nice gaming pc and he will run at 60fps
does this game have keymapping

@@asterixobelix20 the first version of the game was sold directly from the developer. When the steam version launched the old version stopped getting updates so you have to buy it again on steam to get the version Kage is playing here.
