That's because a lot of 90s things lasted till late 2000s or echoed throught them, making the 2000/2010 years a lot more similiar to 90s than 2010/2020 are to 2000s, to reinforce this feeling there's also the fact that with modern technology you can watch things from every era, decreasing the feeling of "gap" between now and then (just think about seeing a youtube video that seems new, just to discover it is from 2008, or your comment that I see now it's 2 years old holy damn). Add to the whole that supposedly you had good times when you were a kid, all this mixes up making you feel nostalgic about the past, that your brain cuts to "ah the 90s" I feel the same being 26, missing the old times when life was simpler

No. There lots of shows with attractive actors that don't get picked up. Friends became the #1 show because of the writing and the chemistry of the actors.
Also, "extremely good looking" is a stretch. David schwimmer is average, Matthew parry was cute in the first season, Lisa kudrow is at most pretty. The only ones I would classify as extremely attractive is Courtney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, and Matt le Blanc; but even then, their looks fade as the seasons went on.
