    Hie Vijay. Great trick. I replaced front brake pads on my bike and had a hard time pushing those pistons back in. However, all other channels like revzilla tells us to remove the calliper from brake assembly and then start the work. I did the same. I think in that case this neat trick does not come in mind. They use sheer strength, using older pads to push the pistons in. I tried the same thing and it took a lot of time.

    This is the best way of pushing the pistons back (all pro mechanics do it like that). Do not ever use something like a screwdriver as you might damage or warp the rotor..

    *Front Brakes* - I was in this same shitty situation, but with my front brakes - dual pistons on both sides - which had nothing to compress on the sides of the calipers, unlike in this video. I had no C-clamp, not even long-jawed pliers. What I did was bolt the top of the caliper assembly *slanted to the side* into only *one* bolt hole, which left the bottom of the caliper sticking off to the side. I made sure it cleared the brake rotor (ie wasn't resting against it) and tightened that one bolt as much as I safely could. That anchored the caliper assembly off to the side so I could use a metal lever (I used the closed side of ordinary pliers). It worked great, but brake oil spilled out of the open front brake reservoir at the handlebars, which I'd opened because another online source said it was necessary to get the pistons to move (WRONG - it wasn't necessary. All it did was lower my brake fluid amount and make a mess).
    It got even worse - when moving one piston at a time, the other piston on the same side came further out - one of them popped completely out, leaking more brake fluid (preventive solution - Slip in a metal plate so you can simultaneously lever both pistons on one side).
    Now I had *no* front braking power, because I had no brake fluid at home to top off the reservoir. The one fortunate thing was that, as with most motorcycles, my front and rear brakes were separate systems with separate reservoirs, so I could still use my *rear* brake (going heavy on engine braking for extra safety) to get to a store to buy brake fluid.
    I decided not to use the recommended emergency substitute for brake fluid - a mixture of 60% dishwashing liquid and 40% water. It was tempting, but I read that in order to get your brakes fully normal again, you have to flush the brake lines, then add new brake fluid, then replace *that* fluid with newer brake fluid after a 100 miles or so.
    I hope this helps save you from going through all that yourself.

    This one mistake ruined my bike's breaking system, i went to a local machanic and he opened the whole calliper and and he hit the piston by hammer to put it back. By doing these things he leaked all break fluid too. And since then my bike's rear break doesn't work the way it used to. I went to RE authorised service centre and some other machanics too but no luck they are unable to understand the problem. They don't even know how to do break bleeding properly.

      The only reason this will happen is pure oil pressure. There is surely some air pockets causing this. I faced the same. I did a complete bleeding of oil and it took a day or 2 to come to proper pressure.

    it is more easy if you bleed out the brake fluid. see that little tube on the upper right? turn it counter clockwise then you can easily push the piston back inside. beware of the brake fluid that will burst out from the bleeder tube.

    • @VijayHansora
      @VijayHansora  4 года назад +1

      You are correct but this video was for few who do not have expertise in bleeding as it is not a easy task any mistake they may loose the fluid and can cause issue if not done correctly hence i wanted to show safest and easy way to do this.

      No just service the caliper. Over a period dust and rust can create this issue. If you are a DIY guy then service it or else give it to mechanic also check the price of caliper so if it is cheap then yes replacement will be better fo future. But first figure out what is the problem don't start replacing stuff you might lose money there

    Sir what to do if weak rear break ? Disc break also .. Thanks for answering .. Really need your help

    • @VijayHansora
      @VijayHansora  5 лет назад

      See there are two things to keep in mind. First The rear brakes are always weaker than the front brakes as per design 2nd if you feel the brak performance is not as before please check my video on how to fix rear brake issue and also check your pad and there is another video on when to replace the disc rotor and also bleed your brake oil and replace it during service. If the brake is same as before but your feel it's weak then do basic or buy EBC pads which will give more bite having said that the ABS will engage more frequently if your rear is locking due to the good bite.

      @@VijayHansora brother i measured the lever..
      It goes about 25 mm after that brake applies...
      Is it ok..?

      @@a.ksingh2244 honestly by measurement I can't judge. Please make sure there is pressure. At some point it should be very hard once you pull the lever.

    Dude - I got my motorcycle washed from a car wash center nearby and then they applied some polish to make it look squeaky clean and new...and while that worked, i don't know has happened, my brakes, both front and rear have lost almost all of its stopping potential...it's not air I can assure you....there's feedback on the levers, but i get no bite even while applying full force.
    Can you suggest me whats gone wrong? and mine is a new motorcycle, just 3 months old and i've only clocked 2.5K KMs...
    Please advice, I have a 250 Duke BS6 that comes with the 390 LED headlight unit....

      @VijayHansora  4 года назад

      Aniket don't worry. Normally people use material to make your bike look squeaky clean. The polish remains on the plate. What you can do is use wd40 and spray and clean the plate. Also if you don't have just take the bike inn empty space and go to speed of 60 and apply brake progressively and at end a bit hard. Make sure to be careful as if you don't abs and if you hit your tyre will lock. The bite will be back in no time

      @@AniketSen welcome buddy. Next time you get the washing done there just ask them to put a cloth or paper on the disk and spray rhe polish... If it still happens then use wd40 on cloth and clean the disk. Or else progressive hard brakes. 😁. Please do consider subscribing and sharing my channel

      Seems like the brake rotor and pads have got some grease/lube/wax etc on them. I go through this ordeal every time I get a puncture or have the tyres changed, the mechs always get grease onto the disc rotor! Remove the pads and clean, sandpaper and use isopropyl alcohol and set them on fire 🔥 to burn out any residue. Next clean the disc/rotor with brake cleaner/ or dishwasher liquid thoroughly to get any grease/wax/lube off them. Replace the pads and you should be good.

    In my classic 350 i replaced with new caliper but still the brakes are not retrieving and pads are rubbing against the disc making the wheel jammed, any solution?

    • @VijayHansora
      @VijayHansora  2 года назад

      This is something for sure you have to get it checked from mechanic in case of any mis alignment or something. If the wheels are jamming then its not good also run it few days to see if that helps.

    Bro so is it that you dont have to take out the whole system to change your brake pads? Jus follow this procedure? But why meachnics would take out the whole stuff to fit in new pads?
