  • I followed the directions perfectly and something still went wrong with processing. It's alright though. I will fix this. I don't know who remembers my old coloring/bleaching hair videos when many things used to go wrong. lol

Hey Linda, whenever you get hair dyed by a professional, they color roots last because it processes faster because of heat from scalp. 7:09

That’s okay, my darling. You can always try again. Yes, you can successfully get the hair color you desire. Hair that has little to no product buildup in it will color more evenly and last more longer. “Dirty hair”, in essence hair that has excessive product buildup is only good if you’re gonna do a global lightening with a lightener. I will say, definitely applying the hair dye to small sections and making sure to smooth the dye throughly from root to tip, is also key. If you ever find yourself with a lot of product buildup, and you plan on coloring your hair, you can shampoo your hair at least 24 hrs before you dye. That tiny exception can sometimes be made, if need be. Of course, hair dye is always to go on dry hair always, nonetheless. No, you don’t need to buy a separate lightener to get your hair to be the desired shade you were trying to achieve. It’s key to never rush the process, work in small sections. No, you don’t need to cover your hair at all after you’ve finished applying the dye to it. You can keep it uncovered or you can simply apply a clear plastic conditioning cap over your head. Afterwards make sure to clock the time for how long it is to then sit in your hair and process and then when that time is up proceed further as recommended. I’ve done a lot of at home dye jobs for other peoples hair, and I’ve never encountered any major issues with any of them that I’ve tried. The only time you would need to use lightener on the hair first, is when you need to completely lift the color to then begin the process of having one’s hair color drastically changed in a major way. That’s best left to a professional licensed cosmetologist to do. I just recommend waiting a while to dye your hair again, and you are always welcome to try another brand for sure. There’s definitely a wide variety of brands to choose from. When I was doing at-home dye jobs for other people, I didn’t stick to using only 1 brand of hair dye. But, like I always say, luv, never rush the process, when you do anything major to your hair. Oh, and an excellent shampoo that would be great for you to try that is good for all types of hair (natural, relaxed, and color treated) is the Pantene Gold Series New Length Root Stimulating Shampoo. I had never thought to even try it, until I came upon all of the great reviews on it from off of the Walmart website. I have been faithfully using it and it works better than most shampoos that I have bought that cost a lot more, that ended up being nothing more than a waste of both my money and my time. I know that you have a lot on your plate, so whenever I find a budget friendly product that is worth recommending to you, I most surely will pass it on. Because, I definitely don’t gatekeep. 🫶😊🫶
Love ya and you keep standing strong, beautiful! ❤❤❤❤❤

LINDA, sis 😂! When I tell you that you at 6:10 is ME everytime I do something with my head that is an epic failure! I felt that laugh and all I could do was laugh along with you (not at you believe me) I felt all your shock and disbelief in that there giggle! Hahahahah - that moment when all you can do is laugh, but hey lesson learned - and at least it’s your bad. I can always live with my own mistakes better than paying a stylist for a disappointment!

Hey, sis! I love you too. You’re right. It wasn’t until I started the process I realized that I’m going to have to bleach my hair with at least a 20 or 30 volume to remove the black. 🫠 Whew! Lesson learned.
