Practical magic the book has less of a light/ humorous tone than the movie does. I don’t think the movie captures the vibes of the book as well as it could have but I liked both for different reasons. Also, practical magic is technically the first in a series but the books go backwards in time- I read them the opposite way meeting the first generations and then the next and the next and found that a much more satisfying reading experience than I think I would have the other way around. Just my opinion ofc 😊
The count of Monte Cristo is HUGE... BUT... it's one of my favorite books of all time. I found it hard to get into at first because of the old grammar, but wow (I read it in French as a French speaker, I'm not sure if this would be such an issue in English). Hope you like it!
North Woods sounds really intriguing to me! It kind of sounds like a book I love called Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver. Multiple POVs in one town, interconnected lives intertwined with love, tragedies, and a huge appreciation for natural world ❤
Mary is one of my favourite books of all time, I love it even more on every re-read. I def recommend the audiobook! His sophomore novel, Nestlings, was also stunning. Completely different, but so well-written and excellent.
I always keep my goodreads open when I watch your haul videos. Well.. any of them. Our writing tastes are so similar and I have so much to read through thanks to your videos!
Great Book Haul Video Sydney and City of Stardust special edition looks absolutely stunning I might have to add it to be TBR & Fable too 📚 I hope you feel better soon too ❤️🩹❤️🩹 Just take it easy and take care of yourself and have chamomile tea with honey and lavender that’s what helps me when my stomach is upset ☕️🍯🪻 Have a Great Week & Happy Reading 📖🐝🐝😊
Heads up for future reading/videos Fable is a SMP book under boycott if you're participating in the boycott. It's from the SMP imprint Wednesday Books. Also LOVE Count of Monte Cristo! Want to do a re-read at some point.
Practical Magic isn't a matter of whether the movie or the book is better, they're just very different. (In the same way the book and Broadway play of Wicked by Gregory Maguire are different.) Love all four of these. House of Hollows was a favorite, didn't know she had a new book out, thank you! I love that cover of The City of Stardust - and another booktuber described it as being very flowy and poetic prose like The Starless Sea, which is huge favorite of mine, so now I'm even more excited to read it.
Welcome to Nightvale is a huge podcast that’s been around for years! It’s a funny horror podcast about a friendly desert community! I recommend listening to it! Also that book is book 3 in the mainline book series!
I didn’t even know it had sprayed edges, extra exciting! “I’m always looking for a fantasy series to become my whole personality” I feel this so much 😂 I just listened to fable and enjoyed it, I’m almost finished with namesake and enjoying it too
I bought the Anita De Monte on audio through BOTM. Very excited to listen to that one. Also, recently picked up Shark Heart and it sounds right up my alley. I loved When Women Were Dragons and hope its something comparable 😅
I would love if you mixed in spoiler videos of what your reading and the storyline of the book with random updates through out. Kinda like Cari can read. 🎉
The Bee Sting is on my wish list, it sounds amazing. The Count of Monte Cristo is already one of my 2024 favourites, you will love it. Don't think of it like a huge boring classic (like I did before I read it), it's definitely not :)
I just started A Fate Inked in Blood last night. Only two chapters in, but I think I’m going to like it. The Norse Mythology will be interesting to learn more about. The book Practical Magic is very different from the film. Loved the whole series. Hoffman’s writing is gorgeous. Have a great week! 🐝🐝🐝
I'm just reading Shark Heart, I think you'll love it! That version of Invocations is from 'Evernight' by Illumicrate, a book subscription in the UK. I have it on my shelf, so looking forward to hearing your review!
🐝 I was so excited to see that you bought Anita De Monte Laughs Last. I cannot wait to read it. P.S. I think you would enjoy Recipe for the Perfect Wife by Karma Brown - dual POV between 2 wives, one from the 1950s, and the other is from the present time.
🐝, I just finished A Fate Inked in Blood. I enjoyed it. I’m currently reading Anita de Monte. . . I’m enjoying it as well. Pineapple Street I DNF’d twice. Hopefully, you enjoy it. I hope you feel better.
1) You are so gorgeous. 2) I'm so glad i stumbled uopon your channel. Ever since Noelle Gallagher stopped posting I've been on a hunt for a booktuber that could fill the whole she left and I do believe you are it. (I'm aware of how weird that sentence was, but trust me it is a compliment.) You voice is so relaxing, and I would probably listen to you read the dictionary if you recorded it. (once again, weird I know sorry)
This made my whole week, anytime I get compared to Noelle I treasure it🥹🥹🥹 also - I really appreciate you saying that about my voice for real - I’ve been self conscious of my voice for my whole life tbh haha not a weird thing to say at all, thank you😭💓💓💓
Sign here started out so good! Fun premise and characters but then it goes off the rails and NOT in a good way! I actually had to go to Reddit to try to understand the ending. It had such potential, but alas disappointing.
I had all the welcome to night ale books plus tried listening to the podcast but it was just way too nonsensical and out there for me so I sadly had to finally admit defeat.. which is sad- I even got an arc of the book you hauled. 😢

I also read it in French but apparently there are several translations in English, some "easier" (more modern) than others.

It's a known fact, walking into Half-Price and NOT buying something, you're just leaving money on the table. Might as well burn it.
Real.
I loved Sign Here. I gave it 5 stars.
THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO IS LIKE SO GOOD IT'S MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE
Mary is one of my favourite books of all time, I love it even more on every re-read. I def recommend the audiobook!

Ghost wall!! Sarah Moss is great. Save it for when you’re feeling like a quiet, subdued, eery literary fiction

I love your hair like this!! So cute
I really want to read The God of Endings it sounds great. I hope you like A Natural History of Dragons, I really enjoy that series 🐝
The Count of Monte Cristo is my favorite classic novel, but I rarely recommend it to people because of how long it is 😅
🐝, I just finished A Fate Inked in Blood. I enjoyed it. I’m currently reading Anita de Monte. . . I’m enjoying it as well. Pineapple Street I DNF’d twice. Hopefully, you enjoy it. I hope you feel better.
