- Knuckles will stop at nothing to get the Angel Island relic back from the Babylon Rogues! The Chaotix will stop at nothing to help Knuckles! Except maybe a dinner invitation from Cream and Vanilla, who are busy fighting their own battle after a pair of unexpected guests stop by. I really hope they don’t ruin the beautiful gelatinous dishes Cream and Vanilla worked so hard to make!

I like how Sonic's friends are free to fight enemies for their own purposes. They're not a superhero team, they're free fighting.
They're more of a "superhero society". They're loosely organized as a whole, but they come together as needed. They're bound together by friendship, and Sonic is the focal point of this circle of friends. Not all of them are friends with everyone in the circle, and not all of them are friends with Sonic in particular; but each IS friends with at least one other in the circle.

@videogollumer I don't believe this, either, or at least, I don't want to believe it, but it's hard when we have moments like in issue 33, when Shadow refused to help Omega. I want Shadow and Rouge to be friends more than anything, but apparently, SEGA doesn't want it.

I laughed so hard when I saw Rough and Tumble's expressions when they made Cream cry. It was the face of guilt and confusion.
Ahhh. It's always so nostalgic to get a story where Knuckles teams up with the Chaotix.
I'm just as surprised that Rough and Tumble stuck around for dinner, even after they had messed up everything.😎
I mean, what Rough and Tumble did was wrong, but Vanilla and Cream are not believers in brute force. Sometimes, you have to treat everyone, even bullies, with kindness and generosity. And that's exactly what these two hoodlums deserved today. Speaking of Hoodlums... Anyone else freaking out over the idea that Surge and Kit are gonna go good?

Vanilla can truely be terrifying sometimes, one must not misunderstand, a sweet and caring mother is still a mother, knowing when they need to be stern and even cast a shroud of unbridled and terrifying stares and aura of disappointent that can pierce a hole into even the hardest of souls.
ALL BUT the hardest of souls; she'd never be able to get through to Eggman, Metal Sonic, Mimic, Clutch, or the Deadly Six. Heck! She would have had a better chance with Starline than with any of those monsters! Yeah, I know that's not saying much for a sad pathetic young man who wanted to be friends with an amoral science terrorist.
@videogollumer I think she'd be able to throw mimic and clutch off if only for a hot second. As for starline, I can't hear that name without remembering how Eggman anillhated his very soul from orbit. I'd call it one the best fights in the franchise but I think it's technically classified as a massacre.
@@cooltiger2439 She'd have absolutely no better chance with Mimic and Clutch than she would Eggman; they all care about no one but themselves. Starline at least wanted to help someone; too bad he chose the wrong person to help.

Even the power of Super Sonic pales in comparison to an upset Vanilla. If Rough and Tumble had not backed down at that point or if Cream had gotten hurt they’d have stirred the wrath of a demon more apocalyptic than any he’s ever unleashed before.
Vanilla should have her own orchestral Titan theme.

Next issue, I’m really gonna be feeling for Whisper. With Mimic already there and now with Surge returning she just can’t escape her traumas.
I stand by Whisper with her vendetta against Mimic; but Surge is a different story. Mimic is a Neutral Evil mercenary with a cowardice that would make any other Neutral Evil mercenary scoff at him. Surge, on the other hand is a victim like Whisper. Mimic hasn't been brought to justice yet, but Whisper's Wisps have been returned to her and the Dynamo Cage has been destroyed; thus, Surge can't steal her Wisps again. If Whisper is suspicious of her, that's fine; but if she tries to take unprovoked action against her, I will not stand by that. Besides, she'd provoke Kit.
@@videogollumer Surge still caused Whisper great physical (she ended up in a hospital) and psychological pain. It's reasonable to believe she would want revenge.
@@valentinkambushev4968 Well, she'll be in the wrong if she tries. At that point, it would be petty revenge, because what was lost was restored. Besides, Kit would try to drown her if she tries to hurt Surge.
but if it turns out that Surge and Kit are actually pretending and biding their time, then Whisper's suspicions will be validated
and besides, it was Silver who attacked unprovokedly. Whisper only came out because Silver was caught and did intend to prove it to Lanolin, but Lanolin, despite trying to be rational, was not giving Whisper and Silver a chance to explain why they thought it was Mimic, leading to Mimic moving away and Silver feeling the need to be proactive. though i am trying to defend Whisper, i have not forgotten that Surge and Kit are victims and do hope they WILL reform just not in the next issue, they'll be either pretending or semi-reformed

I've often wondered what an angry Vanilla would do jn official media. I guess now I know. 😂
I am deeply concerned. Clutch's business is "Clean Sweep Inc," Mimic infiltrating our heroes, Surge and Kit joining, and now Clutch is partnering up with the Restoration?! All these things, it feels foreboding. When something lined up like this in the Archie comics, Eggman's Operation *Clean Sweep* nearly led to the end of the Freedom Fighters. Is this possibly building to the downfall of the Restoration?! 😰
Something tells me that might be where Surge and Kit come into play. However, that's quite a long shot.
Lanolin should’ve listened back in # 64. She and everyone else are gonna need all the help they can get.

I’ve never seen Vanilla, that fierce before. I think she and Yor Forger would get along fine with each other.
They should've made "Rough and Tumble attack Cream and ruin their dinner" into a single-issue story rather than have it take up half of two issues.
I think it was better split up TBH. If there had been a whole issue of what are effectively goofy antics with minor characters, I would've felt a bit let down.
Rumor has it that any scouter that tries to measure Vanilla her powerlevel instantly breaks.

No se que decir de este comic pero ME ENCANTO creo que con la parte que mas me intrigo de la historia de knukles y los babylon rouges fue al final donde clucht hablava con jewel solo espero que no valla aver una desmadre y todo se vuelva una pelea de super villanos y super heroes aun que creo que el comic 67 seguro nos dara esa intriga interesante haora con la historia de cream fue bonita grasiosa y pasable en general un bonito festin de cena para todos y creo que vimos otro lado de vanila el ultra istinto😂😂😂 pero en fin un comic con mucho que mostrar y valio la pena una vez mas son de las mejores grasias mike por sacar el comic 10/10
A great issue! The first story’s ending is setting up more suspense and the second story made me chuckle!

Yes the biggest surprise IDW sonic 67 "second chances" is where Surge and Kit returned and planning to join the restoration!?
from what i looked up, the next arc starts with issue 67 and ends on issue 71. Maybe Surge and Kit have gone good, but we can't be 100% certain of that

Vanilla the Rabbit went all Anime Mother on Rough and Tumble. Yikes I wouldn’t like to be on the receiving end of any argument with her… The lesson is to never piss her off. EVER!
I have 2 things about this issue.
Story 1 - Wow, that was amazing. Not only do Knuckles & Storm finally have their fight, Clutch was on the side using the Babylon Rogues & managed to get in "friendly" with the Restoration. If this storyline is become a Crime Boss Arc, I'am SO down for that to happen.
Story 2 - What can I say. After the trouble Rough & Tumble caused in the previous issue, I think they both got what they deserved. I also love that it continues when the first story left off.
I would love nothing more than a Crime boss arc.
So I guess vanilla and vector are a “implied” couple kinda like tangle and whisper? I mean, she literally fed him the take out, it’s so adorable. 🥰

@@valentinkambushev4968 As harsh as it sounds, I'm inclined to agree. A public organization, particularly one concerned with protecting people, that can't act professionally simply can't survive.
They don't seem that inept at rebuilding or fighting back. Their first major test was the Metal Virus. And let's be real, most organizations would crumple under that.
@@bthsr7113 They did; they literally did! They only pulled through once Sonic started calling the shots instead of Amy. Still, to her credit, while Amy was useless while stuck behind a desk instead of using her big flipping hammer, at least she could tell Clutch is a sleazeball the moment they met, and she wouldn't have been so callous toward Silver and Whisper, unlike a stupid ewe I wish not to name!
Wow Vanilla really mop the floor with Rough and Tumble with words and reason for a moment i thought she was going to use a broom to attack or a cane mallet i dont know but still.

Along with Frontiers, I’m glad Knuckles has a fiery effect with his abilities. It’s a nice nod to Sonic Battle and makes him even cooler.

The Hell you mean "unreasonable"?!?! She worked hard on that roast and that big jerk just stomped on it. Cheese has a perfectly viable reason to be that pissed.
Vanilla despite being such a caring mother she had a scary dark side of her it activates when cream is crying
This was a nice set of stories. While not as epic or dark as other idw stories, they provided a much needed breath of fresh air, letting the heroes enjoy some downtime misadventures and letting some characters get their real deserved spotlight (can you believe this is first apparence of the babylons in the main book since issue 32?).
While i have some big gripes with the restoration side of the stories, they do not detract from what is otherwise a pretty fun read.
Next time: surge and kit are back!
as much as i'm looking forward to Surge and Kit returning, and either are reformed, via amnesia like eggman was, before his memory was restored, or are faking redemption an bidding their time, i'm more concerned about the cassandra truth scenario of issue 64's first story. a theory from another subscriber said Mimic may be exposed in issue 75, which'll come in August next year, unless it is pushed back.
Worst case scenario will be that Whisper will be gaslit even further by Mimic, and Mimic comes deadly close to killing Whisper before she either comes back to her senses or Tangle and Lanolin save her in time, or both. Lanolin's info on the wiki has been updated, and it says that the stress of keeping order and her stubbornness is what makes her react wrong to how certain people act.
and STILL there's no new information of issue 69 in the wiki whatsoever, and i am DYING to see the synopsis.
but besides that, i'm looking forward to seeing Surge and Kit again and the Diamond Cutters arc continue
Knuckles Chaotix won, Knuckles got the relics back, ahead of Knuckles Spin-Off series Paramount+, Babylon Rogues lost, retreat, got exposed & lied to by calling Clutch, but the unthinkable happens, Jewel & Clutch aligning not good, Cream & Gemerl May have beaten Rough & Tumble, dinner got foiled, Vanilla comes back putting Rough & Tumble in their place, Chaotix come by seeing what they witnessed, but Cream, Chaotix , Gemerl & Vanilla settle their differences with Rough & Tumble enjoying takeout dinner, best part, love this comic.Next time, Lean, mean, & green electric high voltage speedster, Surge returns along with Kit, next month aligning with the restoration.
Seeing the Chaotix more and more is really great.
Glad to see Rough and Tumble too, but man I feel bad for them lol. They trying so hard to be good villains, but haven’t been too successful. They couldn’t even rob a house!
I actually really like that aspect of their character. They want to make a big name for themselves even after all their past failures. They are one of my favorite characters in the series. :)

Rough and Tumble dining with Vanilla, Cream and the Chaotix looks oddly cute. The only moment they got some deserved (Keyword here) happiness in the entire comic, even if it was after cleaning the mess they started.
Almost makes you wish Vanilla took them under her wing and turned them into well meaning people.
Vanilla is the secret final boss in the Sonic universe. It may as well be canon at this point. Eggman wouldn't have gone so far out of his way to kidnap her specifically without cause after all...
Maybe one day we'll get a glimpse of that power one. And considering what Cream is capable of already, woe upon whatever poor soul forces this woman to get serious.

Another thing that needs to happen. sometime maybe BEFORE Mimic gets exposed, Tangle will realise that Lanolin, in spite of her good intentions, has faults in her methods and will stand up to her, mainly for Whisper, and call her out for her stubbornness and cold appearance and describe her faults in detail, but in a passive-aggressive way. Lanolin might see Whisper's self-doubt and will blame her for doing it to herself because of her "mistake", and then Tangle will remind Lanolin that she was in a similar situation in issue 58 when she broke down and that things like that can happen to everyone, and that she shouldn't scapegoat Whisper. maybe afterwards, Lanolin will start to feel at least some guilt.

I’d like to see how he gets back on his island.
This was an ok issue but still fun.
Charmy not wanting to be a bad guy by stealing and watching Vector swim and chomp like a crocodile should were great interactions.
Not surprised Clutch was behind since he's the only villain left aside from Mimic but it's whatever.
HOWEVER, how does the Restoration Committee not have records of all the bad guys they've run into? Did the Chaotix forget to report the guy? Did Amy and Rouge not mention anything about him from their past encounters?!
While I am curious as to what he's up to (probably just some money scheme or hostile business takeover given his personality) It's just jarring to see that Jewel wasn't informed and/or has no records of Clutch on file. At this point I just hope they don't go the "give the guy a second chance" route as an explanation for why he's collaborating with the restoration forces.
Side note: how *DOES* Knuckles pay for stuff? And man it must be annoying having to find a way back to a floating island after every adventure.
As for the second half, poor Cream. I've never seen her cry so much. This puts Rough and Tumble up there on the villain list. Not even Eggman waste such carefully made food. It's funny seeing Vanilla be such an intimidating force too. Really wish we actually got to see if she could fight. Still a hilarious page though. Plus it was nice that she still let R&T eat some take out too.
And if course Vector's still just hopelessly crushing on the sweet ol'mama rabbit.
Also 15:35 Cheese essentially does the "your dead" throat slitting gesture.

I literally forgot that Cream was a child until I saw her crying because to me she’s a very strong character even for her age like I seen her go on so many adventures with Sonic and the others😅
Seriously? Sonic and all of his friends are under 21. Heck! So are the Skunk Brothers; they're somewhere in the range 15-20, according to Ian Flynn.
Its easy to forget because of how she mops the floor with her enemies in the GBA games but yeah, Cream is still very much a smol child

So Rough and Tumble do have a guilt level. And Vanilla is still way too kind even after turning on the mom mode. I know Rough and Tumble were really hungry and basically destitute, but allowing them to partake in the takeout after all they did? I hope they at least helped clean things up.
Also, dang it Restoration! You allowed Mimic in disguise, then Clutch with disguised motives, then SURGE AND KIT OUT IN THE OPEN inside all within the span of a few days?! Without Sonic there, did you all just lose your minds?
Again, we are talking about people who rely on a single person to save them. You know, maybe it's time we let Eggman do to them what the humans did to the dodo: destroy the dumb creatures.

This comic relies on characters acting like idiots to further the plot. And most Sonic fans, frankly, don't know what good writing actually is.
Evan Stanley herself doesn't even have a degree in writing, and Ian Flynn sent unsolicited scripts in an effort to get noticed by Archie Comics Publishing. The two of them are glorified fanfiction writers who got lucky.

Among the Restoration, you alone know the truth about Clutch; expose this opossum as a FRAUD and reclaim the edge that your stupid lamb friend, Lanolin, gave him by not trusting the judgment of the heroes who know better than her!
Belle isn't the only one who knows Clutch is bad news. Amy, Cream, Shadow, Rouge, Omega, and the Chaotix know, too.
To be fair, Lanolin had a point that Silver and Whisper needed to show her proof. You can't just go out suddenly saying that someone new to the team is a dangerous criminal without at least some proof especially when your friend making those accusations has had a bad history dealing with someone who ends up being a traitor to the team. They could've done it and gotten proof that duo was mimic had Whisper not acted so hasty with the accusations.

@@videogollumer Lanolin hasn't really know Silver for that long and as for Whisper, it could be simply been Lanolin thinking that she was getting paranoid since Whisper was pretty much traumatized by the experience of losing the old diamond cutters because of Mimic's betrayal. Lanolin is someone who is level headed and doesn't try to jump to conclusions, she would be fair instead of just instantly giving into bias when Duo a newbie for the diamond cutters as far she was concerned was being accused of being Mimic, things would've gone smoother had Whisper not instantly tried to capture Mimic so soon and took more time to gather proof.

I've read this issue a few days ago, I just love IDW's Sonic comics, it has better writing and better written characters (I especially love Tangle and Whisper), with these comics being translated by Sega of Japan for Japanese audiences, the Freedom Fighters will have no chance of appearing, which is good as they aren't game-canon (IDW Sonic is canon to the games and Sega of Japan has no interest in the Freedom Fighters) and that them appearing will make IDW Sonic look like the Archie Sonic reboot.
