His flow on every verse is in anapestic tetrameter. Em made this beat himself as the piano melody came to him on a flight and he spent the whole flight repeating the sound in his head so he wouldn't forget. But he wrote most of the song while doing it
I can see him repeating the melody in his head to lay it down later because I do the same and I'm sure others have or do as well. I repeat a melody and drums in my head till I can make the beat at home or till I can at least record it on my phone using my mouth to make the melody and drum sounds lol
When I was little, EM was my invisible hero from the 1st time I heard THIS SONG. He's been my RAGE and ANGER outlet (cause of PTSD, it still scares me today) EM gives people music they can relate to in ALL SITUATIONS 💎🐐

My favorite Eminem song by far - it never gets old - realize that back in the day tv played a responsible role always trying to teach us things, movies had the moral of the story etcetera that's why they blamed artist who didn't want to take on that role, so times have changed. Eminem was controversial in your country yes, not so much here, it was rap in general that was controversial here because people didn't understand. We don't have hoods, never had segregation or slavery, never had a school shooting either but we don't have guns. I loved Eminem when I was young because of his rage and his beats. #memories (i am 50 now)

My favorite thing about this song is Eminem produced this when his label execs told him they wouldn’t release MMLP if he didn’t add what they thought would be radio hit. They learned Em didn’t give a f and gave in. Imagine being one of the guys who didn’t want to release an album that sold over 25 mil. 😂

This song was not part of the original album. What happened was he was being force to write another hit song like "My Name Is" and he didn't want that in this album. So when he got out of Interscope offices this was his retaliation towards them, however inspired him to write "Real Slim Shady", so all worked out.
