Let me know what you thought of this workflow! Will you use it for your regular projects in FCPX? what do you do at the moment and what would you do differently? let me know with a comment 👍
This video is giving me LIFE! I love keeping everything organized and was googling how to do it for Final Cut. This is everything I needed and more, can't wait to start using :)
love it! THANK YOU Will. I've been ding videos for 15 years and never quite got a system down and I think copying yours will save a lot of time and make it much easier. I never considered having one library per video but I can see how that would make sense. Thanks bro.
Very helpful! Thank you so much. I don't use separate libraries for each video, but rather use an active library and historical (archived ones). However, I can still create the template folder and store my media in it every time, as needed, as I have a new folder for each project. Thank you again!
thanks! glad it was helpful! for me i have the exported videos for into and outro as i dont need to edit them each time but you could just as easily have the projects in there if you prefer, just bare in mind its likely to take up more space that way. thanks again
Good afternoon, when I need to copy a project I'm doing in a hd to another hd the media are messed up and often do not appreciate saying that they are not in the project what would that be? and how to organize? I'm watching your video and finding the tips cool.
Hi 👋 thanks for watching. Yes what you are describing can be a nightmare and is the main reason I like keeping all media in library. It prevents the need to manage media relations when moving things. If you must leave media in place then I’d suggest placing the media folders and the Fcpx lib file all within one “root” folder. Doing this means that the media is always in the same place in relation to the library and prevents issues. If all else fails your only option is to re-add all the media but I have had very starve results doing that and that’s why I opt to import all my media to library. Hope that helps, thanks for watching and commenting and happy editing! 👍😎🙌🙏
