- Today was a good day. The first outing for the Scoot tuned, custom built Hiroshima screamer 26B powered FD3S RX7 at Tsukuba circuit and after just a handful of installation laps we managed a 59.875 second lap, which capped the day off beautifully.
The best thing about the result is that despite traffic and a slipping clutch, the car has MASSIVE potential and surely with the right setup and some more fine tuning and aero improvements, we can get into the 57's...
Which for the privateer, 600hp naturally aspirated rotary is a MASSIVE achievement.

From my understanding, it is because there is a hot and cold side. So at a certain temperature a slight warping allows for oil seepage, or something like that.
So glad to see people still building out these cars, and thanks to Adam for filming and taking the time to edit the videos and share them on RUclips!

mrjace3 yeah. The levin impressed me more that the driving of the fd. A third of the power and still kept up. Tscuba is a technical track though. Anywhere else the levin would struggle.
Clearly he has grip issues. 59 is a fast time but once they figure out the tyre and geometry for the car this will be a blisteringly fast car

A little fine tuning and stickier tires and I can see this beauty making 55-57 sec lap times. Awesome stuff as always XD.

I didnt look at the title before opening this video, and was so confused why he was driving this car on this circuit, thinking its more like a shakedown...... Now i feel dumb.

Meh... driving not so much. The AE86 was keeping up just fine untill the straight... And thats with shitbox suspension. I wouldn't be proud if I was driving the fd....

Doesnt matter wheter one knows the setup of the AE86. The FD should've been all over it on this track. It's faster with shitbox suspension. You do know what shitbox suspension is, right? Oh wait, I'm guessing you don't. Well let me put it this way, the opposite of shitbox suspension is full aluminium double wishbone suspension (which the FD has). Shitbox suspension is mcpherson struts up front. Come on, everybody knows this shit except for you. Now, I hate to go into shit talking, but with all these millenials commenting on stuff they know absolutely jack shit about, it's kind of hard not to. I apologize regardless if I hurt your wittle feelings.

+The Saturn Life that's how it's works. there's no other way to do it. The oil you see is mainly the mixture oil and not the proper engine one

Ali Ahadi Have they figured out how not to burn oil in 2 strokes... yes, changing to 4 strokes. How can you lube the internals of the rotor without burning oil when it has to get where the fuel is?? It just isn't fisically posible
ALIENdrifter66 What? 2-stoke engine came after four-stroke engines. In any case you make it sound like rotary engines have been around forever, the first prototype was in 1957, that's after WWII. While a 4 stroke engine had a working model in the mid 1800's, it's a bit unfair to think that many advancements can really be made in any time soon when it's taken so long for piston engines to achieve what they can now. I mean even Atkinson cycle is only really starting to be utilized and that was also developed in the 1800's

explain to me how fuel cut can end up in flames...really i want to understand what was burned and created that flame...
looks like something to do with timing retardation... I'm not educated in these things but I'm assuming it's a combination of timing the exhaust to occur before the fuel is burned, and then the heated exhaust pipe causing it to ignite...

I realize it's a Scoot build, but it sounds like it has fouled plugs and it definitely looks to be running a bit richer than it should.

People love to shit on the Prius, but its not built for performance.... It gets awesome fuel economy and is great for daily commuting. That said, I'll take an AE82 or AE86 all day, or a 1st gen Miata or RX7
